Q: can you recycle a vacuum cleaner?
copper wires, plastic parts, steel... sure
Q: He doesn't seem to be scared of any other loud noise but he screams when we go to the store and pass by them. He also panics when we touch or go near our own vacuum at home. I just wonder if this is normal he's been scared of it for the longest time and still can't seem to get over his fear.
My 5 year old is scared of the vacuum cleaner too. She's been petrified of it since she was 3 months old. Even after changing vacuum cleaners she still get terrified of it. Of course, she's a Golden Retriever, so that might explain it. Is your 5 year old a Golden Retriever too? You did not mention in your question whether you're talking about your son or your pet.
Q: I have 4 cats and my vacuum recently broke. It wasn't all that good with picking up cat hair anyways. Can you suggest good vacuum cleaners for cat hair under $200? The attachments aren't a big deal to me and probably would be more of a hassle. Looking for something with easy disposable and strong suction. Thanks
Under 200? Hoover Tempo for about 65, Eureka Smartvac (you could get the airspeed bagged, but the smartvac has some nicer features) for about 120 or you could get a eureka 1934b for about $100 which will outperform both the tempo and smartvac on carpet but does not have onboard tools We've had two cats for years we have been using a Kirby which has held up for years and years but new ones are way over 200 i know you can sometimes get reconditioned models for under 200
Q: If earth atmosphere was twice as dense, by how much % power consumption of vacuum cleaners would change?
The mass of air displaced will be double for the same speed. The back pressure of air will be double. Therefore, four times.
Q: how is bagless an improvement over the old fashioned vacuum cleaners with bags? I hate having to deal with the filth that comes out of the bagless machines. What was wrong with the bags? Am I missing something here?
I love mine! I will ABSOLUTELY NEVER own a bagged vacuum ever again! I do understand the dust issue, but I've found that dumping it out creates a minimal mess, which is contained in a small area around my garbage bin. That gets cleaned up when I sweep the kitchen floor. What was wrong with the bags? The one in the machine was always full, and I never had replacements. Buying them was a huge process, because they were never available in anywhere near convenient. I always had to go to the department store where I purchased the vacuum cleaner, or a specialty store to find them. And making sure I got the right ones was also a hassle...did I need type J, or was that the last vacuum cleaner we had? Maybe it's type I. For me, the small amount of dust created in emptying the can is well worth the opportunity to vacuum whenever I need (as opposed to whenever I could, depending on whether or not the bag was full). The good news is that bagged vacuum cleaners are still readily available. If the bagless doesn't work for you, then shop for a bagged option that does. :) Edit: Hmmm...I was just reading the link that AdamG provided. It, too, suggests that bagless machines create a horrible dusty mess if emptied inside. This makes me wonder if it's a brand-specific issue, 'cause I have definitely not had that problem. There's a small (less than 2-feet across) dust cloud that's created when I bang the filter against the inside of the garbage bin, but most of that settles inside the garbage bin (and again, the rest is easily cleaned up later). Do y'all find that you're getting more dust than that?
Q: which are the best vacuum cleaners?
For years, I always had Eureka. They are good, but 4 yrs ago, I bought an Oreck and I would not buy any other brand. It is lightweight, is great for allergens and it cleans well. I take it in for maintenance once a year. The first three or four years it is cost free for maintenance. I like the fact that it is self leveling when you go from hard surfaces to carpet. I recommend an Oreck. They may cost a bit more, (varies as to styles,) but to me they are well worth their price. I use my on tile, linoleum, parquet wood flooring, and carpet with ease and efficiency. I've never had my Oreck to kick out any dirt particles to the back of the vacuum as I have had with other uprights. I also have an Oreck cannister/with shoulder strap that is lightweight to use for cleaning upholstery, stairs, baseboards and ceiling fans etc.
Q: Is it just me or is anyone else afraid of vacuum cleaners?
HEY! I thought you were Rocky the FEARLESS. You dont sound fearless! Your afraid of a friggin vaccum cleaner!
Q: I'm looking for a new canister vacuum but can't get my mind around the BAGLESS Dyson- seems like you still have to be careful about getting dirt and dust back into the air. Please leave your thoughts and feedback on vacuum cleaners and HURRY! I can't wait too much longer to make a decision! Thanks
The great thing about bagless is that you never have to use bags...running out of bags, having to go to the store, added expense. If you decide to get the bag kind, buy a bunch of bags at the same time so you will be able to use it a while before having to go get more. Finding the right bag can be such a hassle. Bagless vacuums work great, and I would suggest emptying them outside to avoid getting dust back in the house. I use the shop vac to clean out the bagless vacuum and filters, then empty the shop vac when it's more full. If you have no shop vac, then tap it out in the garage or outside at the garbage can is my best advice.
Q: If Adam was made from DUST does God consider vacuum cleaners as EVIL?
Probably yes. What are you smoking this morning?
Q: If my son is going to push a toy vaccuum around the house, why couldn't it be actually cleaning?
