- Well they are not as powerful as big vacuum cleaners but they are worth buying.

- When the fan spins, it creates a region of lower than atmospheric pressure behind it and higher pressure ahead of it. The region of lower pressure is open to the area you are cleaning. This reduced pressure causes air (and hopefully what you are trying to pickup) to be pulling into the vacuum and passes through the fan and into bag or bin.
- Q: Can you improve a vacuum cleaners suction (with tweeks) or filteration (by adding aditional filter)?
- Well if you can you would probably be a pretty good engineer. I would keep any existing filters cleaned regularly and if you are using a bag They tend to have better air flow when first installed(empty). You didn't mention what type or for what purpose. If you are cleaning carpet you need agitation, air flow,and suction. Setting it too low would cut down on air flow. Too high would increase air flow but you would not get the suction down where you need it. You might get some better answers if you add details.

- Vacuum cleaners are used indoors. Therefore it is not advisable to use a gasoline powered vacuum cleaners due to exhaust gases from the engine, too much noise, and etc.

I am going to guess you weren't one of us geeks who took Basic and Advanced electronics in high school. :) Power [measured in watts when referring to electricity] is equal to voltage multiplied by amperage. So, just what amperage do the vacuums with the 12 volts have? And, what voltage motors are in the ones running on 6 amps? Find out those other variables respectively and do the math to figure out total power generated.
