Q: I live with 2 kids and 1 cat so my home is heavily travelled and I can not seem to find a vacuum cleaner that works for more than 5 times. I have a Eureka right now which I was told was great for catching pet hair.It sucks. I need a good vacuum that will pick up cat hair, pine needles from the Xmas tree, etc. One that does not break the bank.
Problem isn't the vacuum, it's the bags. You have to change the bag often if you have a lot of dirt and pet hair. The alternative is a bagless unit.
Q: Why are cats generally terrified of Vacuum Cleaners?
Because they are very loud and not something a cat experiences all the time. I vacuum weekly and the cats leave a trail of bricks behind them when I do. However, my 7.3 liter diesel engine doesn't phase them a bit when I fire up the truck and they're standing nearby. It's a matter of exposure. If you ran the vacuum twice a day, every day, it would eventually cease to have an effect on them.
Q: I live in the Dayton, Ohio area if that matters. Thanks!
I have a knack for fixing stuff, so a friend bought me book called How To Fix Damn Near Anything. I love it. I'm sure it would be helpful if you can find it.
Q: I bought two vacuum cleaners two years ago and now, for this New Year, I want to buy something better than a vacuum cleaner, which can cleanse the floors thoroughly and shoul be cheap. Is there such a product? If so, Please recommend them to me. Thanks.
Yes, a housekeeper to do the work for you.
Q: What Materials are used to make the latest Dyson Vacuum cleaners, and what techniques were used to make them.
Various polymers and injection molding. THe motor will use copper wire, which was drawn. Look on their website for more info.
Q: Boss want housekeepers to pay for vacuum cleaners, says they abuse them. Vacume Cleaners are are for residential cleaning and at the hotel we need commercial. Meaning the store bought ones are made for 5 maybe 10 times a month but are being used 400 times a month. I find this an unreasonable situation
im a front desk worker and I have done this work for 11 years and in all that time I have NEVER heard of a manager and/or owner asking or telling their housekeepers they had to buy their own vacuums. I do not think it is illegal but not ethical. the last hotel I worked for our housekeepers used orbit vacuum cleaners and those are household vacuum cleaners. our maintenance man cleaned them once a month. they lasted forever.. maybe that hotel needs to do that also.
Q: Hi,I am looking to buy a vacuum cleaners but am unsure on which one to get? Does anyone have any good recommendations. My price range is about ?150, preferably not a Dyson; and obviously lots of suction lolI have some animal so maybe one with a animal section or something.Oh, BTW i would preferably upright. Thanks
Well, amongst folks with animals, the Dyson is the favorite. We had the supposedly top-rated (by Consumer Reports) Hoover Windtunnel upright prior to our Dyson (which Consumer Reports has no use for). There is no comparison. I have to empty the Dyson at least three times every time we vacuum our 1400 sf house. I could go a month without replacing the bag on the Hoover. Plus, Dysons don't catch fire. I've seen ads for other makes showing their models picking up ball bearings and all kinds of stuff. Next time I need to pick up hundreds of marble-sized steel ball bearings, I'll buy it.
Q: hair cut for long periods of time just to buy a new one???
Ad dyson for $165??? where?? I'd let my pubies grow for a year to score one of those bad larry's for so cheap.
Q: I've owned a number of upright bagless vacuum cleaners, and they have all sucked (well, they've actually all stopped sucking to be precise). The Dyson claims to never lose its power, but its also 5x more expensive than the average upright. Is it worth it?
It has proven to be the best vacuum cleaner by far that we've ever owned. I would highly recommend it.
Q: Does dog hair ruin vacuum cleaners? And if so, what do you recommend for pet hair control?
if you change the filter and bag frequent enough you shouldn't have a vacuum stop working because of pet hair however it does strain the parts and sometimes make its lifespan shorter, however what I would recomend and what my aunt uses (she has at minimum 16 dogs in her house at a time, she breeds them) she has a dyson and she SWEARS by it, she use to have to buy a new vac almost every 2 or so months which is alot!!
