- If your sofa is more or less modern, or casual looking, then you can go with a very trendy color scheme, like chocolate brown (sofa), muted pale blue (for example window treatments, like nice heavy velvet or sherry organza or silk), earthy taupe (walls: important taupe should be much lighter then your sofa's color!). Furniture could be dark brown and simple (espresso), or light colored like maple (but than it should be very stream-lined) or even lacquered white and chunky. You can get a lot of inspiration for this color scheme at west elm's web-site. You can replace pale blue with apple-green, it's much more punchy and casual. For the accents, you can bring Burnt Orange to both color schemes and add some organic elements like woolen rug (flokati) or some art work made out of wood, ceramic or glass!
- Q: There is already a tight squeeze to get my leather sleeper sofa out of the door and hallway of the pre-war apartment building .. making it lighter would help the cause...aside from taking out mattress and cushions..is it fairly easy and a good idea to remove the frame and re assemble it at the new location? - For the weight of your sofa I suggest buying the forearm forklift from the As seen on TV web sight. I have used these moving many items and makes even the heaviest items seem much lighter. If you are having to turn and lift and contour your sofa to get it to fit into the doorway then I would go ahead and remove the sofa sleeper section just be sure you secure it from opening once removed...zip ties work great for that.
- Q: Ok well I never paid for the ones I have now, they were passed on from one of my sons, It's all fabric,(can't upholster them myself). Their 7 years old,and he had a dog (male) that had fun scratching it up in different parts, and all the lower edges have stains (dog). when you sit on them you sink in, they give me a terrible rash when I sit on them. He told me that a long wood piece in the sofa was broken, but still I told him to give them to me. Now they are rather taking up space in my living room, since I don't use them cause of the rashes. - Q: I have a sofa that is made of suede its in a dark cream colour and someone has split a bit of false nail glue on it. I have tried soap powder, washing up liquid, Star Drop, nothing is removing it. Does anyone no how to remove it without damaging the fabric as its SUEDE. I have heard that you can use Nail polish remover with acetone in it but I don't want to damage my sofa. The glue has left a dark circle mark about the size of your pinkie nail. Can anyone help me please?????? Thanks
- U can use nail vanish remover with aceton in it to take it off. It wont damage the sofa. Im sure it wont. Or u can ask to buy aceton in a nail bar. It as good

- Try scrubbing the stains with shaving cream. Then wipe with a clean wet cloth. Shaving cream is nothing but whipped soap that rinses off easily. The last thing you want to use on your sofa is overly sudsy soap. You'll never get the suds out. Any brand of shaving cream works, as long as it's the typical white foamy kind. The gels don't work. -

- Q: ok I have one of those imitation micro fiber sofas, and I have a problem.. My hubby insist that it is ok for our 300 lb. English Mastiff to get up on the couch... it drived me insane but I try to ignore it... however now, there are 2 tears in the fabric.. they are L shaped, (almost like a box knife caused it) and are only about an inch in length.. the fabric still meets together if you know what I mean (there isn't a hole, only a tear). My husband won't listen and insists that it is not from the dog, but I do know better.... Anyhow my question is how do I try and repair this without it being too noticable...
