- Q:I tried cleaning my plastic windows in my truck with water thinking if i wiped it up right away it wouldn't leave any spots but it did... I'm not trying to buy anything expensive and I was under the impression you don't use windex on plastic... Any ideas?

- Q:I saw an online video that we can go to our local home depot etc and buy kits where we use a blow drying and put plastic on the inside of our windows. - Couldn't have afforded winter in MI with out them! We lived in a 100 year old farm house, on a budget. We used plastic on all the windows and heated the whole house with the wood stove. The wood was free,(we cut and chopped it ourselves) and we only spent about 30 bucks on the plastic. Now that we live in NC, we still cover the windows, but we have electric heat now. I miss the wood stove!

- Not a good idea. It tends to stick and not wash off. Therefore ruining very expensive windows.
- Q:There is a tear in my drivers side window at the bottom where the plastic is covered by the fabric, but the fabric is coming lose and the tear is starting to show and open itself to elements. Also, this window zipper only closes and opens one way, going the other way the teeth will not connect, any ideas? Also, there is a larger 4-5 inch tear in my rear plastic window right under where the zipper releases the plastic from the fabric. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
- There are some kits available for making repairs for clear plastic, you probably will not find them at an auto supply, but, at a place where supplies are sold for any inflatable items, air mattress,floats,etc. These clear repair kits come with an adheres and once in place it is there to stay. On the large tare on your back rear windshield, you may want to place a repair sheet on both sides. Also you may consider sewing it with clear fishing line. As far as you zipper is concern, you can replace the zipper pull, this may or may not solve your problem. Hope that some of the above is of some help!
- Q:So i put a plastic goblin window cover up for halloween, its a window that sees the sun all day long. I went to take it off today but its like its melted to the window and my windows are plexiglass. I have tried scraping it off, using running alcohol and nail polish remover but nothing works! Does anyone have suggestions??
- Not a guaranteed solution, but try WD40. The oily substance may soften the stickies and get it off. Put on and let soak before trying to scrape.
- Q:I have a plastic windshield that I want to tint, but have run into some problems. I tried getting a tint shop to place a film over it, but the surface was too curved. Is there another method that I can try? Is there any kind of spray or dye? Also, I would like mirror tint. Is that possible? The plastic can flex a little, so it has to be able to withstand that.I don't have to worry about whether or not the tint complies with the law. So, there are no restrictions.
- I just would check with a different tint shop. I ran into that issue with my rear window on my car. A few different shops said they couldn't do it because of the size and how curved it was. Bottomline they just didn't want to go through the hassle. I found a shop that was willing and it turned out great. As for the spray tint VHT does make a product called night shades. I've seen it used with mixed results. On something small like taillights it good. But for a a large window you might have issues with consistent coverage. The tint might look blotchy when your done. Once again I would just look at finding a different place to do the tinting for you.
- Q:Can a 1992 convertible Mazda Miata plastic window be replaced with a later model glass one?
- I need to replace my 1993 Mazda Miata soft top with plastic rear window to a soft top with a glass window. If a soft top with a glass window is installed, how would the top fold down considering there is glass window or will you ever be able to fold the soft top? A plastic window can easily easily but I don't see how it would. Thanks.

- soft top replacement upper door skins. Oops...I didn't read you question correctly, they are called rear quarter windows. There are many dealers and manufacturers that sell them. Local 4x4 shops and online, search using a search engine...
- Q:Some dark spots where my stove cover leans on it during cooking (no heat problem) I just don't want to scratch the window.
