Steps of PVC UPVC Sliding Window and Door construction:

Aluminum or PVC (UPVC) window is being made from Aluminum or UPVC profile, window accessories and glass.

To produce an Aluminum or PVC window you have to do the following steps:

Cut the profiles (Aluminum or uPVC Profile, reinforcement and Glazing bead)
Put reinforcement profile inside the uPVC profiles
Screw reinforcement profile into PVC profile
End mill the mullions
Open holes for door handles, sash fastener channels and espagnolette
Weld uPVC profile or Crimping Aluminum profile
Clean the welded corners of uPVC windows
Assemble window

Q:Can YOUHOOS at Yahoos give me an idea where I can find a sheetof heavy clear/ or even transparent plastic to put over my window thatnot like this cheap garbage I used from Frost King at home depot.. The last stuff came from a roll and was heavy duty and I don't need a roll of it, I'm just drawing a blank here. And this boxed up stuff sold in cheap discount stores really is garbage 1 mil junk.. Oh, and yes, this is their outdoor stuff , not the shrink indoor kit.... The window is about 4 ft x 6 ft..... 1950 era.....(hence the need for plastic ). I've got a few smaller as well... Q:I am moving with my family into a house that has large plastic skylights. The trouble is that the former tenant told me that a they are very thermally conductive and contribute to astronomical heating and cooling bills. I spoke with a contractor about it and he said tinting would be the only way to go because normal plastic insulation film wouldn't stick on the windows as they are themselves plastic. But I don't want to tint the windows and lose the lovely light. Does anybody think the plastic film would work or have any other ideas? Thanks for any help you can give!: You could get window insulation kits that have a sheet of plastic that you can mount to the frame of the inside frame of the window with their double sided tape. They are shrunk by using a hair dryer, this will create a dead air space between the window and the plastic to reduce your heating costs. A roller curtain can be mounted just outside the window frame to reduce the heat that comes in with the sun to help reduce the cooling costs in the summer.

Q:Is it ok to recycle these envelops with other white office paper? Or do they belong to the garbage bin?: The plastic would be a contaminant. You should either remove the plastic window before recycling or dispose of the plastic window envelope in a garbage bin. Putting plastic windowed envelopes in with recyclable paper can render the entire batch unusable.

Q:Should I insulate just my single pane windows or my new windows as well? Also should I put the plastic on the inside, outside or both? Thanks.: Plastic on the inside. Putting it outside will subject it to wind and weather. It will be noisier and will not last all winter. If your new windows are double or triple pane, I would not do them. Look for places where drafts come in around windows, doors, fireplaces. Many of these can be sealed with caulk and are very efficient.

Q:Most of the windows in our home are pretty drafty. We've been putting up the thin, shrink with a hair dryer Duck plastic in our windows for winter to help with the drafts. I want to make some window quilts for this winter to help, but I'm not sure how to combine them with the plastic, or if we should just use them with out the plastic. Would it be more effective to plastic right around the window, inside of the frame, and then hang the quilt right on top of the plastic, or hang the quilt outside the frame, or just hang the quilt directly on the window with out the plastic?: I lived in a place with this issue too (in New England!) In my opinion, nothing is really as good as the plastic for stopping drafts, ugly as it is. I'd do the plastic as you normally would and then hang the quilt like a big drape in front of it.

Q:Do I have to replace the entire convertible or can the plastic be replaced?: you can have the plastic replaced - i had it happen to me, it faded to yellow and was just plain ugly. either take it to the benz store and have them take care of it - or go to a good upholstery shop and have them replace it. so, yes it is very easily done.
