- Q:will the house retain heat if plastic windows and frames are installed?
- Very little. It is the trapped air inside insulation that makes it work. If the windows and or frames are insulated, then yes. The problem is, the gas used to insulate windows is not a do it yourself thing.
- Q:I'm moving out of my apartment in a couple weeks and i have these plastic-like window blinds around the place. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get these things clean without taking them down? They're supposed to be white but I'm noticing a couple yellowish-brownish stains on them. - Carefully remove the decorative molding from around the window.(inside) Then either stuff fiberglass insulation in the crack between the window and the jam. Or use the foam insulation in the can. Then replace the molding. A lot of people put plastic on their windows using staples

- Q:I rent a townhouse that has very old windows.. LL will not replace them so im thinking of puttng plastic over the wndows.. we are not aloud to put plastic outside.,. - go to a hardware strore and look for plastic that is specially made for covering windows. it has a double sided tape that attaches to the inside of the window and put the plastic up take a hair dryer and it's like a shrink wrap to make a tight seal. we did that over the weekend and WOW what a difference. i also live in a house (old) with horrible windows that let the cold right in. really made a difference in here....we are able to keep the thermostat set at 65 and its comfortable in here.

- No due to plastic and glass in combination will over heat and melt. You can ask the car dealership or use paper wrapping over windows such as a moon or sun roof rather than plastic to glass.
- Q:..The cardboard part is recyclable, the twist ties are reusable, wrapping paper and ribbon have reuse or recyclable value. I can't think of what to do with the plastic part.
