- Q: I bought a halloween plastic poster of a black cat for a window and it ended up melting to the window, I took as much as I could off but there's quite a it left and the ink also left behind..put rubbing alcohol on it and tried scraping..not the best solution there. - you can try paint thinner on a rag .....not sure if it will take the stain out of the plastic or not but it should get the chalk off without a problem. not sure what to tell you about the rip in the window tho....sorry. hope the paint thinner works for you, just use caution cause the thinner is a harsh chemical. good luck. it might burn ur skin a little but wash with soap and water afterwards....your skin and the window to play it safe.

- I would suggest the type that are like storm windows. They are double layers and create dead air spaces that stop the heat flow -- not much of an R value, but better than thin plastic sheeting. R= 1 (for the really cold days, the best insulation for windows is to cut a 1 inch thick foil faced styrofoam sheet - cut it to size so that it pressure fits inside your window framing. = R = 6.5

- That might be a good solution, if you have a place to buy them at a good price. I usually put up a heavier curtain or drapery in the cold weather. I like to be able to open them when the sun is coming in. I also close the blinds in the evening. I don't think the plastic works all that well either. Good luck keeping warm!
- Q: I put up fly nets with adhesive velcro strips (were included in the package) on my plastic window frames. That was last year. The glue on the velcro has now turned to dust (literally) leaving dark, pinkish black stains on the white plastic where the sun hit the velcro. Is there any way to remove or bleach these stains? I tried chlorine but that didn't work.
- You can get rid of the glue residue with Goo Gone. Wipe on. Let sit for about a half an hour. Then scrub with a plastic dish scrubber and wipe off with wet paper towels. Good luck. -
- Q: Would a Jeep Wrangler with glass windows be any less noisy than a model with plastic windows?
- Even with a soft top, glass windows on the full size hard doors makes for a much more quiet ride with the top up than a Jeep with half doors and the plastic windows. Plus, the hard doors will not flap at speeds in excess of 60 MPH as the soft portion of the half doors will. Not much of an issue unless it is winter and the heat quickly escapes from your Jeep while cruising down the highway. Even on the TJ with the more advanced door frame assembly, the glass is much more advantageous with the soft top. With the hard top, the CJ, YJ, and TJ are all about the same.
