Q:I removed my carpet and put in laminate floor. Do you have to put a sealer for laminate floors. What products can i use to clean laminate floors??
Vinegar water is the best. Cheap, unobtrusive and easy to use.
Q:has ANYONE ever been to a building in AMERICA that had a floor labeled 13???
no.. does a building that has a 13th floor exists? i don't think so..
Q:living area/kitchen area is covered in laminate wood flooring (i think it is the kind that snaps together). due to some major flooding (about an inch or so of water coming out of the bathroom, over the threshhold and underneath the wood), a small part of the wood floor got water underneath. i used fans on it and a dehumidifier, but the wood has seperated in a few places and sunken down in some places....kind of like a wave.is there any way to level the floor out without replacing the damaged pieces? i rent and i really don't want to forfeit my deposit or spend a lot replacing a floor that isn't mine.
Again I say its toast. Soggy mushy toast but toast none the less
Q:hotels skip 13th floor...some skip the fourth but most skip the 13th....i know....i just watch the movie 1408 and then i saw that they skipped a floor....i never knew it until i watched the movie..i am just so curious.....and i also noticed...they really skipped a floor
Some people are just very superstitious and stupid thats all alot of buildings do that
Q:Explain how the process of sea-floor spreading supports the spreading zones between continental plates
Sea floor spraeding occurs due to the plate movement called diverging.two plates will move apart and there forms a fissure and through that magma(molten rock)comes out and forms a new sea floor.this process is called sea floor spreading.thus zones will get increased in their area.
Q:I'm looking into buying my first horse trailer. What types of floors are there? I've heard of wood floors, aluminum floors, and rumber floors. Are there any others? And what are the pros and cons of these floors. Which one would you choose?
We have just a plain metal floor and our horses have never had problems with it. I think I have read somewhere that it's easier for them to slip on and it doesn't absorb shock very well. Rubber mats are the best, they absorb shock and give good no-slip grip. You can put rubber mats on almost anything I think... I'm positive they can go on metal and I don't see any reason they couldn't go on wood.
Q:I just got my wood floors refinished about a year ago. But over time I noticed the my floors are dull and blotchy. Recently I have used "Bruce" hardwood floor cleaner and "Rejuvenate" which both claim to shine and not leave a residue. I have tried washing the floors with water but still can't get rid of it. Why are my floors not shiny anymore?
You need to have your floors re-sanded and then varnished. That should have been done in the first place.
Q:I am considering pulling up my carpet and painting the cement. I do not like the carpet, but I would not mind hard woods, but that is a little too much money. I have also thought of tiling the floors. How hard is it to pull the carpet up, ready the cement, and eventually paint the floor? How much money will I be needing? Suggestions please!
Stained concrete and clear sealer can look very nice. Painting is also an option. Just be sure the product you use is specifically for concrete floors and read the direction carefully. The main thing is to have a clean surface with no dust and dirt. If you just use regular wall paint you will be in trouble.
Q:My '85 kitchen has good oak cabinets, medium stain. I thought about painting them but think I will keep the wood look and just give them a good cleaning and new hardware. BUT, I really like wood or wood laminate floors and don't know how to match wood on wood. Anything you tried or any ideas on how to go about picking the right floor? The cabinets have a lot of grain and as I stated they are a medium brown.
For the best overall results, your kitchen floor should be darker or lighter than your cabinetry. I, personally, would go with a lighter floor. This will make the room look larger and more spacious. Matching the cabinets and the floor would be a mistake as there will be no separation or contrast between the two. If you google 'Virtual Rooms' you can find several websites which will allow you to select a likeness of your kitchen. These web sties allow you to select colors for the cabinets, walls and floors so you can see for yourself what the room will look like prior to buying your flooring.
Q:Ive been researching earthen floors. Im a little confused. Does this floor serve as the foundation as well as the floor or is it just an alternative to carpet and such?
No. When earthen floors are used, at the very least, a rubble trench foundation is used. In my opinion, if your going so far as to make an earthen floor, a concrete foundation seems ridiculous. The floor itself can be relatively thin, any foundation must be quite a bit thicker than the floor. Make sure you read as much as you can on this stuff. There are lots of ways to screw up!!
