- Q:I just traded with someone and got a PS3. It came with just the power cord. When I plug it in the red light comes on but it just beeps twice and that's it. Is it because I don't have an AV cable or it is broken?
- You need the av cable to see and hear it but if it doesn't turn on at all it's broken. It should start with just the power cord
- Q:I have an HP Pavilion ze5385us.... the power cable is messed up and I'd like to replace it, but the ones on the HP website are pretty expensive... I have a different computer so if I have to spend over 100 bucks then forget it. Does anyone know of a good generic brand?
- try on the OKorder and you could get cheaper and the same is about ?20.
- Q:(for example : 1sqmm, 4sqmm, 35 sqmm) i need a formula to calculate current by knowing the area of the cable?
- This is not a simple answer. The amount of current that a cable can carry depends on the amount of voltage drop that you can tolerate (mostly an issue in long cables) and the temperature rating of the insulation used on the cable ( the higher the temperature rating, the higher the current that you can run in the cable) and the ability of the cable to loose the heat that is generated from the I^2R drop in the cable. For example, if a cable is in open air with no other heat sources near it, it can accomodate more current before compromising the insulation. If a cable is in a conduit with other cables that are generating heat, then the conductor needs to be increased in size to decrease the heat. The ampacity of the cable is also affected by the duty cycle of the current that the wire is carrying. If the duty cycle of the current is 10% then the wire can carry much more current compared to a current of 100% or continuous. Having said all this, there are tables of ampacities for various sized wires.
- Q:I just bought a Sandisk MP3 player e200 series. It come with a USB connector which according to the product manual, its also used for power charging.Unfortunatly, it doesn't work with my laptop. I've tried to used the USB cable to charge but no power transmit to the mp3 at all. I guess my USP port in my laptop has too low capacity.I would like to buy a separate power cable for my MP3 but I am not sure if it is available. I can not find information in the Sandisk website either.Anyone knows that is there a seperate cable power for this model and where can I buy it?
- No. It charges via the usb when you hook it to the computer. Sorry. If they don't have separate power cord as an accessory on the website, they probably don't offer one.
- Q:so my old psu fryed itself, and i just ordered a new one, i have another psu that i can use but its only 350 watts, it has no gpu connector, can i still use my computer without the power for the gpu, i have no onboard video and i have a radeon hd 6850 256 bit gddr5. and my cpu is a amd phenom 2 x6 (six core) 1045tthankyou
- Erm, no. This is like asking if you can turn on your computer with no power plug connected...
- Q:...suction cup mount? There is a port on the side of the device that the vehicle power cable fits into, but the manual says the vehicle power cable is designed to plug into the suction cup mount. What happens if I plug the vehicle power cable directly into the gps unit? Does the unit operate, but not charge? Does it not operate at all? Does it operate and charge? Before trying it, I'd like to know so I don't harm the device.
- According to the Nuvi 370 instruction manual - this unit appears to be designed to receive power only through the suction cup mount. In other words - the vehicle power adapter connects to the suction cup mount, and when you attach the device to the mount - it receives the power it needs to operate. Looking at the photo in the owner's manual and the identified ports and controls - the device does not appear to have a direct connect power/charge port to which the vehicle power cable can directly connected. If your device does in fact have a charge/power port on its side that the vehicle power cable can directly connect to, then you should be able to make that connection without any problem. It should operate and charge your device just fine. Note: Your unit has a USB port for connecting the device to a computer for updates and for charging (via the USB port). If you want to charge the device without using the suction cup mount (and therefore the vehicle power cable to which it connects), you have the option of buying a vehicle USB power converter/adapter that plugs into your vehicle's 12V power outlet. Then you would simply connect a USB cable from the USB power adapter to your device to charge it. Update: Reading the instructions in the owner's manual a little more closely - it would appear that you can certainly plug in the AC power adapter directly to the unit, although they are not really clear about it. (The manual could have been written a little more clearly in my opinion.) So again, I will reiterate that if the vehicle power adapter connector will mate directly to the device - then it will power and charge the device without having to use the suction cup mount, if that is your desire. BTW, congrats on your new Garmin 370 GPS unit. Really nice!
- Q:I am thinking about buying a hard drive and a SATA to eSATA cable to get more space to store things but I dont know whether or not the eSATA cable supplies power to the hard drive like a USB port. Do I have to buy a power cable for the hard drive or will it work without one?
- eSATA connectors cannot supply power, require a power supply for the external device. eSATAp (but mechanically incompatible, sometimes called eSATA/USB) connector adds power to an external SATA connection, so that an additional power supply is not needed.
- Q:This is all I got in my PC, where is it?
- It okorder /. This connects to one of the regular four pin power connections and has a small end that plugs into your hard drive.
- Q:I have a Raidmax 730w power supply, and its modular. there is only one plug in for a 6 pin, and the cable has 2 different 6 pins on the same cable. Will this cable be able to run 2 different video cards running XFire? or will is also be able to run say a 6870 that requires 2 6 pin connectors?
- You should be able to feed two cards that each require 1 6/8 pin PCI-E power source... or 1 card that requires 2 6/8 pin PCI-E power source. A cable with 6 pin provides 75W power to the card. With the 75W available on the PCI-E x16 slot, that would be a 150W supply. 2 6 pins will up the available wattage to 225W. Cards that require a 6 pin and 8 pin are 300W cards. Your cable/PSU port is designed to provide any of those combinations of power to the videos card(s).
- Q:I have a Samsung NC10 net book, from europe. A few days ago I forgot the power cable in another country. Can I get just any laptop power cable from a computer store, or should I get a proprietary cable? Will the quality matter?
- As long as the cable has enough power for your laptop, same watts, volts etc. It's usually on some part of the power cable, and on the bottom of your laptop or on the battery.
