- Q:Composite wood flooring shop will be able to step on it, shop how long can be installed in the above sliding door? More
- Over 24 hours and then step on. Then you can install the sliding door, the hole is best connected to the ground, because the composite floor is suspended installation, easy to loose.
- Q:I have just primed a wood floor and want to stencil it. After the priming do I paint the entire floor the background color then stencil?. What do I use for the final coat(s) to protect the floor and the stenciling?
- Whenever you paint a floor, it is recommended to use an epoxy-based paint - it will adhere better and suffer much less wear and tear over time because it is more durable. Although, truth be known, I have used acrylic paints with no problems. Presuming you're using a simple stencil pattern to be applied on a solid-coloured background, your next step is to paint the background colour. Two coats should do the trick. Let it dry thoroughly before stencilling over it. Stencilling should be done with a stencil brush - a round brush with a perfectly flat tip. The paint should be thinly applied in a dabbing motion - do not brush it on. The reason for this, aside from the finished look, is that when you brush paint on it is more likely to get under your stencil and make a mess. If you're using more than one colour, you might want to cover the areas on the stencil for all but one colour with masking tape, and let each colour dry before moving on to the next. When you're all done, you could apply a clear coat. The oil or alkyd-based clear coats have a tendency to yellow slightly over time and take quite a while to dry. The water based clear coats won't hold over oil-based paint or emulsion. Check with your local paint supplier to find out which finishing product is best based on the paints you have used. Alternately, depending on the style you are going for, if you have used a durable enough paint, you might want to skip the clear coat so that over time you will have a nice aged and worn-in look to the floor. Good luck.
- Q:My family room and kitchen are one large area, I am hesitant to put a laminate floor in the kitchen because of the dog running in and out of the kitchen to outdoors and getting the floor wet with snow or rain. Will that be a problem with a laminate kitchen floor?
- Laminate flooring is a bad idea in any area subject to standing water. The water will get under the flooring and cause it to warp and buckle. The same holds true for wood plank flooring.
- Q:3dmax wooden floor how to use uvw map
- First use BOX to pull a floor block, and then the material lazy rough box Ngau Valley stubble in the long ball in the diffuse reflection with a bitmap to the wood floor of the map selected, attached to the BOX, and then in the floor of the editor to choose UVW map, adjust the parameters below the rectangle, set the length and width of the size of the line
- Q:I have old pergo floors in the dining and kitchen area and tile everywhere else in the house. How hard is it to remove both types of floors and how do I go about removing each? I want to put down real hardwoods and carpet in the bedrooms. Also, new tile in kitchen and bathrooms.
- The pergo flooring(if free floating) is very easy to remove. Just start at a wall and start taking apart, they usually snap together. As for the tile, that will be a project. They make scrapers for floors, either manual or power. I would suggest using either. Your going to have to make sure that all material is off the floor, otherwise when you go to put down the hardwood, you will have a very hard time. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me.
- Q:i was looking for a rabbit hutch and most seemed to have wire flooringwhy is that? and doesn't it hurt the rabbit's feet?should i get the ones with wire floors or solid wood floors?
- ditto what Cat said. Don't get a wire floored hutch - it'll really hurt your poor bunnies feet. It really isn't such a hardship to clean out a rabbit hutch - most rabbits will train themselves to toilet in one corner so put a little litter tray there and it'll help you out a bit. You sound like you'll be ok, you clearly thought a wire lined hutch was a bad idea or you wouldn't have asked :)
- Q:Prove that the floor(2x)=floor(x) floor(x 1/2)i need the proof with cases.
- Suppose that we split up x into its integer part y and its decimal part z (for example, we can split 3.6 up into 3 and 0.6). Then, we have: x = y z. Then: floor(2x) = floor(2y 2z), floor(x) = floor(y z), and floor(x 1/2) = floor(y z 1/2). For 0 < z < 1, floor(y z) = y for all integers y (y is defined to be an integer, so this is fine). As for floor(2y 2z) and floor(y z 1/2), we need to take cases. Now, if 0 < z < 0.5, then 0 < 2z < 1 and 0 < z 1/2 < 1 and so: 2y < 2y 2z < 2y 1 and y < y z 1/2 < y 1, which implies that 2x is some number between 2y and 2y 1 and that x 1/2 is some number between y and y 1, which implies: floor(2x) = x and floor(x 1/2) = x, so floor(2x) = floor(x) floor(x 1/2) when x is some integer plus a decimal between 0 and 0.5. As for the case 0.5 < z < 1, 1 < 2z < 2 and 1 < z 1/2 < 1.5, so: 2y 1 < 2y 2z < 2y 2 and y 1 < y z 1/2 < y 1.5, yielding floor(2y 2z) = 2y 1, floor(y z 1/2) = y 1, and floor(y z) = y, and so: floor(2y 2z) = floor(y z 1/2) floor(y z) == floor(2x) = floor(x) floor(x 1/2). Combining these two cases proves floor(2x) = floor(x) floor(x 1/2) when x is not an integer. To prove the case when x is an integer, notice that: floor(2x) = 2x, floor(x) = x, and floor(x 1/2) = x, when x is an integer, which shows that floor(2x) = floor(x) floor(x 1/2) when x is an integer. Combining these three cases yields floor(2x) = floor(x) floor(x 1/2) for all x (as required). I hope this helps!
- Q:When i fit the laminate flooring in my dining room with a 12 mm expansion gap all round is is correct that i should fit a cork expansion strip in the gap before i fit the skirting/moulding?
- No, do not install anything in the expansion gap. That may impede the natural movement the floor needs to make as the climate in the room changes. The distance you created is correct. If you don't install according to the manufacturer's specifications and the floor fails you will not be in a good position to file a claim. Don't try to second guess the instructions or yourself. Install your molding and enjoy your new floor. Congratulations, you're done.
- Q:I want to put down peel/stick vinyl tiles in my kitchen and bathroom. Both rooms have Vinyl flooring now and it's not damaged in anyway I just hate the colors. Can I put the peel/stick tiles on top of the existing floor or do I have to pull it up? Also should I use some sort of glue to add extra holding and will this kind of floor last or will it start peeling up in a few months?
- Peel And Stick Vinyl Tile
- Q:What kind of surface preparation should I do and what kind of paint to paint over old floor tile? The tile are really stuck firm to the floor. Thanks,
- Can't . Must remove tile. Might need a heat gun or blowtorch. Need more information on type of tile!
