Q: My mom installed peel n stick (DIY) tile on top of linoleum flooring. About a year later, she wants the job done right, so she is trying to pull the tiles up to install snap together wood flooring down. The problem is that now the old linoleum is too sticky to walk on. My question is how do I get the stickyness off of the linoleum and has anyone had any problems with the snap together wood flooring? Thanks in advance, God bless you all!
goo gone makes a great paint remover product and it smells like oranges
Q: After the tide of moisture on the ground, the color of the carton into the floor tile, and now some of the brick above the yellow, washed with hydrochloric acid, did not wash off. Who knows what can be done to wash the color of the dye? More
Try it with oxalic acid or vinegar to try to be helpful to you
Q: Hi, I had too much heavy stuff in a closet and now the floor is sagging in the middle. Is there any cheap and fast way to fix this?
If the floor is sagging that means the support structure is damaged or missing. If you cannot get at it from underneath you're going to have to remove the floor planks and maybe the sub-floor in order to repair or replace the support. In a small area such as a closet you may be able to get away with placing new oak planks oriented 90 degrees to the old floor. However, this will raise the floor and may interfere with the door and saddle.
Q: Because of the conditional twitching, there was a layer of not too thick carpet on the concrete floor, a layer of mats on the carpet and a bed sheet, and I did not know that it was good for the body, I am living on the 26th floor of the elevator apartment more
Badly tidal body
Q: Hey guys, Last year i painted my garage, its a concrete floor, and the garage floor. It looked really good and i always gotten compliments on how good the garage was. This year most of the paint on the floor just pealed off and it looks bad. i think i needed to apply sealant after the paint which i didn't. I did apply 2 coats of paint but still the paint didn't hold.I'm going to repaint the floor again but any suggestions on what i could do this time to prevent what happend over the winter. Some part of the garage sticks out and due to the snow, wind all that paint just isnt there anymore..lolthanks
did you primer the floor first the would have help prevent the peeling. do use sealent also
Q: I was attempting to replace my linoleum floor, I discovered a black tar adhesive under the old Linoleum, When I tried to pull the old Linoleum up, The floor started to splinter!, There seems to be a top thin layer of wood over the sub-flooring?, This is coming up with the Linoleum, Should I just leave the old Linoleum like it is and put the new linoleum over it?, Or should I go thru hell and high water and replace the entire floor???
You'll get a better result if you remove as much of the underlayment you can. Whatever floor you decide to put on, be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions to put the new one on.
Q: Hey! :) so If any of you have seen my other question you will know I'm redecorating my room. I'm a dancer so I'm making space to mount a ballet barre on my wall. I have cork flooring in my room.Is cork floor bad for dancing on?It has a little give (it's a little soft) but it's not like hardwood so I'm worried it will rip (with soles of my ballet slippers and pointe shoes..)If it's a bad idea to dance on it (barre work), what should I do?I wouldn't be able to change my floors but is there something I can lay down on the floor?I could use a carpet for regular barre work and stretching but carpet is bad for pointe work... Any ideas of what I could do?
Was curious on the answer too
Q: When laying solid wood flooring how much loss rate is normal?
Solid wood flooring is about 3% of the normal loss (error 1% of the top of the flower), which is 2% -4%, the national standard is 5% -10% (actually the floor of the floor to protect the floor manufacturers loss)
Q: do all lab floors have to be non absorbing like is it a law or anythin?
It is page 9, paragraph 9 Laboratory flooring in chemical use areas and other high hazard areas (suchas biological containment facilities) shall be chemically resistant and preferably one-piece construction with coverings to the wall. Good Practice A continuous floor reduces the potential for liquid absorption. Covings are recommended to facilitate clean up. Surfaces should be as free of cracks, crevices, seams, and rough surfaces as possible to avoid surface contamination traps. Found this under [Furniture and Fixtures ] Wet chemical laboratories and darkrooms should have solvent resistant coved flooring using sheet goods rather than tile, web.princeton.edu/sites/ehs/labsa... Could not find a hard answer about non absorbing floor coverings. In any Wet Lab, the possibility of chemical spills is ever present. To me it makes good sense to have a non absorbing floor to make clean up 100% Browse around on the source links below to find more input. Wingman
Q: We have wood laminate floors in our new kitchen, and I feel like they always look dirty. (I have two young boys, so really they ARE always dirty, but I'd like them to look clean at least when I first mop!!) No matter what I use, they always look dull. I have tried **** & Span, Murphy's Oil Soap, and some other things. All of them seem to leave a film. What is the best way to clean wood laminate flooring to make it shiny? Thanks!
I have never tried it but heard it works great. Put a small amount of liquid car wax into your mop water for the shinny floor result.
