- Q: I bought the cable with an installation disk, Windows found the hardware and found the driver on the install disk, and it was the correct one for my XP operating system. It completed with a successful install message, but I don't see at this point how I can use it. It doesn't show up as a new drive, storage device, or anything else in my computer. Theres no new program on the desktop for it, and theres no executable on the install disk. Any ideas?

- You have to update your drivers. Look for a program called Motorola Driver Installer. That should fix it.

- I got the CU500 from LG and I got the data cable off of OKorder with the phone software way cheaper then they wanted on LG's website check them out One thing I can't stand about the phone I have is the made sure you needed to get all the accessories from LG as it isn't standard stuff like a different USB cable, even a different Headphone jack as it it's like a half a centimeter smaller.

- yes there is you need a USB data transfer cable available at any decent computer/electrical store or as suggested a network cable crossover if your going direct from laptop to laptop or normal if you go through a switch etc. network cable is much cheaper

- You can check motorola's or cingular's website, but my experience has been that the data cable ALWAYS comes with the software (whats the point of the cable if you cant use it), you should go back to the store you purchased this from and let them know your cable did not come with the disk. If they are unable/unwilling to help you try their support line.
