- you can not download songs without software the computer and phone have no clue what you are trying to do because it has nothing that is connecting themit depends on what kind of phone but more than likely you can't get any software downloaded for free for your phone i know personally motorola is the worst they make you pay for the disc and the cable like 49 bucks.

- No there is no such thing. It works for electricity because it can just go down 2 wires but it wont work for data. If you split the cable, only half the data would get from the motherboard to whatever device. Most motherboards have at least 4 sata ports though.

- This software feature is disabled by LG at the request of your wireless provider, as it canabalizes their own sales for ringtone purchases. Unfortunately, you won't be able to successfully send midi files from your PC or another phone to be used as ringtones. The only thing that you may be able to is the following: You can go into My Sounds on your phone, select Record New, and record part of a song playing in the background on your PC for example. Then send this sound to your own number attached to a text message from your phone. Once received, click the options key (usually the right softkey) and choose, save as ringtone. It will sound a little shatty though.

- usually not. In most homes phone wire contains four conductors (but may contain more in new buildings and upgraded installations). Data cable is always 8 conductors, each two conductors are twisted together to minimize noise on the wires (to increase the integrity of your data during transmission). So data cables need special jacks and receptacles to accommodate the eight wires. You can buy the cable at home supply stores, in my area there's a separate aisle in the electrical dept for it. However I suggest that you look around and find someone who KNOWS how to terminate the cable, because you need to know how before you attempt this, and your question tells me you don't know. - try going into my computer and accessing files that way as sometimes drivers dont work or try using the internet to look for a suitable driver but normally a phone acts as another kinda hard drive if you know what i mean

- The computer won't recognize the device until you plug it into the cable. Normally, I would not install the driver like you did. I would go through the windows recognizing new hardware process when I plugged it in, and install the software drivers at that time when asked.

- you need a data transfer cable. unfortunately, a usb-usb cable won't do what you want it to do, as I've learned that from experience. you do not need additional software because it comes with it.
