Q: wire diagram and manual: a small boats wiring cant be very complicated. If you're needing to replace it get a book called Small Boat Wiring or a similar. If you're trying to find a fault with existing wiring simply trace the existing wires remake all the connections as you go. I suggest you pull the lot out redo it properly. Except for the electric start you dont need super heavy cabling for a small boat. Tinned multi strand wire with a core diameter of about 2 mm is fine. Get a roll of red one of black ( or use red/black figure 8 cable) From the battery fit a service fuse of about 15 - 20 amp in line with the positive cable right near the battery. Use only properly crimped screwed or soldered connections. If the connection is ever likely to get wet then cover the connection with a piece of heatshrink tubing with a good smear of neutral cure silicone inside it. The silicone should squeeze out both ends of the tube when you shrink it. Dont make any joints mid run ( never in the bilges). Make sure the wiring is secured where it is out of the way is neat. Support the wire near the connections. Run from the switch panel to each item as a separate circuit, dont daisy chain. Give each item its own cable including the return (black wire) brought back to the panel. Be neat make a permanent record of what you've done. Fuse each circuit with a fuse rated about 50% above what that item should draw. Always carry plenty of spare fuses.

Any Help would be great!: The positive wire should be red and the ground black. You should tap into a wire that is ignition hot. Meaning it only has power when the ignition is on so it won't run down the battery. The easiest one to use would be the accessory port on the fuse panel. The ground needs to go to any good metal part. Find a screw that is in a large metal part, like the dash support, and wire it under the screw.

Q: On the wires leading to existing system I can see the main power lead. However all the other wires are different in color leading to existing valves. From the wire bundle two black wires (the only black wires) lead out to nothing and were left with no electrical end caps protecting. Manual says nothing on wiring valves. Any ideas on black wires? Or how can I splice in to existing system wires at valve point having one valve working at a time when system is operating? Am I going to have to get a new controler or run new wires existing controler?: As long as you have an extra colored wire and your controller will support the extra valve, it will work. Q: I have a 1983glastron cvx-16 and need to wire the lights, tach horn fuel guage there are 2 wires coming off the fuel guage one pink from the center and the other looks to be comming off of a bracket not conacted to the tanks fuel guage: Wiring your gauges is pretty easy to do as there are only 3 wires per gauge.You have a positive,negative and sender wire.Your positive wire goes to the I which is the ignition terminal,the negative goes to the negative terminal and the sender wire to the S terminal.That's it,done.To make it a little easier I'll give you the usual colour's of the sender wires. OIL pressure = light blue Fuel =pink or yellow usually pink Tach=gray Temp=light brown or brown Trim sender=brown with a white stripe. Light wire for gauges=blue Your positive wire for your gauges is purple and this wire starts from your key switch,from the I terminal.I hope this helps.
