Q: where can you buy the plexiglass or plastic sheets that protect one from second story half walls that have spi?
No promises but take a look with McMaster Carr. They have all most everything you need in their catalogs including various sheets of plastic, bulletproof glass and other safety items. At work we order a ton of stuff from them.
Q: How to distinguish the plate and plastic glasses frame? That kind of material is better.
Plate design, surface more smooth, plastic better. Not easily deformed. Plastic frames are lighter. Relatively rough. Easily deformed. The plates will be slightly more plastic.
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for soundproofing?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for soundproofing to some extent. However, their effectiveness may vary depending on the thickness and density of the plastic, as well as the specific sound frequencies you are trying to block. Other materials like acoustic foam or mass-loaded vinyl are typically more effective for soundproofing purposes.
Q: Computer cases have clear side panels, what is it called plastic sheet?
perspex but if you're insterested there's an awesome case that comes with all that. tha antec nine hundred check that out while you're looking
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for artistic projects?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for artistic projects. They are versatile and can be easily manipulated, cut, or shaped to create various artistic pieces such as sculptures, paintings, collages, or even jewelry. Additionally, plastic sheets come in different colors, textures, and thicknesses, allowing artists to explore different techniques and experiment with various mediums.
Q: after buying the motor home i found out that water from the water source in the rv park had been standing under the trailer for a long time. i was planning to move the home so thought this would be resolved but now do not know that i should move or keep this due to what looks like mold on the surface of the black plastic sheeting containing the insulation under the trailer. also, it s there a problem if water gets into the insulation? this is my first experience with a mobile home do not know who to ask. mobile home dealers have not been able to answer my question. please help.
I can't see why mold on the exterior of the plastic sheeting should be a problem unless there's an enormous amount of it, if it's there because the underneath of the home didn't get enough ventilation. It could be cleaned off, and shouldn't recur if the next place you put it is dry. If water has gotten into the insulation above the plastic, that would worry me. Wet insulation doesn't work, and if the insulation is wet, there might be other water damage in other parts of the home which could be serious, since the water in the insulation most likely flowed down from somewhere. Is the plastic in good shape with minimal tears in it? If there are any tears, look at the insulation through them to see if you can see any evidence of it having been wet. Have a good look with a strong light under there, and you might be able to answer your own question. Also, though the dealers might not be of much help, there is probably someone in the neighbourhood who does repairs on mobiles, and it might be worth getting them to give an opinion.
Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to chemicals in swimming pools?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to chemicals in swimming pools. They are designed to withstand exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals without deteriorating or reacting adversely.
Q: Hi! I'm wondering where i can find a roll of really big plastic to cover carpet... I'll be moving into a small bachelor place soon but im also getting an untrained puppy... mistakes happen.. cleaning carpet is no fun... so im thinking i want to get a huge roll of plastic to cover the living room with. I am unconcerned with how it looks because it will be much less of a hassle if the little guy has an accident!!I was thinking maybe somewhere like Home Depot? Is there are certain name for something like this? i cant go on the website and search really big sheet of plastic lolthanks for any help or other advice
Walmart has plastic drop sheets for covering carpets and floors. They usually will cover an average size room.
Q: I did some repair work under my trailer, and had to slit open my plastic to get to it. Now I have replaced the insulation, but I need to put the plastic back together. The slit is big enought that I need to put another piece of plastic over the hole. I only have wood available on one side. On that side, I can use my hand stapler and staple it into the wood. Then one side has a metal edge. And the other two sides I just need to connect it to the existing plastic. The staples will just fall out if I put them from plastic to plastic. How do I this this correctly?
In the area where the plastic overlaps, dig a hole so you can hold a piece of wood in place while you staple the plastic patch on. Then, fill in the hole. Finally, use duct tape on the edges to create a seal and to prevent the staples from rusting. If you are on concrete and can't dig a hole, build an L bracket out of wood - a triangle may work even better. Put it in place behind the existing plastic and weight it down with a sandbag so it stays in place while you carefully staple the patch piece into the upright portion. Finish with tape.
Q: I'm looking for a sheet of clear plastic to go on the back of a picture frame. It needs to be about 110cm by 60 cm and I suppose abut 3-4 mm thick.Basically the same as you'd use as the glass bit on the front of a frame. What should I be looking for? Perspex, acrylic?Any ideas on cost or what types of places to look for would art shops do this sort of thing?Any ideas welcome, I'm in Liverpool in the UK but general guidance needed too! Thanks.
OKorder is a good place to look, usually some one selling an off cut on there. If not look in the yellow pages under sign writers / plastic fabricators they might have an off cut they could supply you.
