Q: I want to build a table and for the top i would like it to be a sheet of cloudy or frosted plexiglass or perhaps acrylic about 3' x 6', so light can shine through it. Which is cheaper? Where can i find them?
3. Starts trembling with fear, lol
Q: if you lay a sheet of plastic over a bar magnet and shake iron filling onto the plastic sheet how will the ir?
The iron filings will arrange themselves in the direction of the magnetic lines of force. (Try it for yourself and see...)
Q: What's the difference between memory plastic and sheet metal?
TR 90 (plastic titanium) with memory materials with high current international popular ultra light frame material with high toughness and wear resistance and low coefficient of friction against energy transport frame fracture, prevent friction damage eyes and face made its specific structure anti resistance high temperature deformation resistant short between 350 degrees high temperature melt combustion residues release in line with European food grade material TR90 glasses surface lubrication density of 1.14-1.15 salt water than the floating plastic spectacle frame and plate frame about less light weight nylon 85% half bridge of the nose, ears for reducing burden youth use of anti-wear and anti aging, good solvent resistance, weather resistance, easy combustion, high temperature resistance and memory high resistance material deformation index 620kg/cm2 variant TR90 spectacles frame material elasticity, toughness and easy fracture strength fracture with operation safety and impact resistant nylon material: 2 times ISO180/IC:>125kg/m 2 elasticity to prevent eye damage caused by movement
Q: Titanium sheet, lets say thickness 250 microns (0,010''), and size 3.5 x 2.5. How far could it bend so when you release it it goes back to its original shape (without any shape change or damage)? Could it act same as/close to a (plastic) playing card? Shuffle, bend half of the card when you are looking at it while its laying on the table?
In alloyed condition it’s as strong as steel but 45% lighter and also ductile Under mentioned conditions, it will not behave as you mentioned
Q: I was wondering if there was any type of Vinyl or Plastic sheeting that you can adhere together by Melting it? to make a box or something?
For diy you can use chloroform, it is used to stick plastic together by dissolving the contacted areas. Most sign makers and art/craft makers are using it. Hot mouldings are usually used by the manufacturing industry.
Q: I just bought a pickup truck, and it has this large 4'x8' plastic sheet in the back. Its about an inch thick, and weighs a LOT. It has nothing to do with a bed liner or anything. It seems to be extremely durable, from being in the back of a work truck for over 10 years its just got some scratches. Does anyone know what it could be used for? I want to try and sell it, but I have absolutely no idea what its purpose is, so I dont know how to even list it! One of my friends suggested it may be used for flooring or something, but i have no idea. I could see it being cut up and used for bench tops or something of that sort, but again, no clue. Any ideas?
It probably was used as a bed liner, the rest of us just use a sheet of plywood and this guy had access to the plastic sheeting, so used that instead
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for DIY face shields?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for DIY face shields. They provide a transparent barrier that helps protect the face from respiratory droplets and other contaminants. However, it is important to ensure that the plastic sheet used is of sufficient thickness and clarity to provide adequate protection. Additionally, proper sanitization and cleaning of the face shield should be practiced to maintain hygiene.
Q: What are the weight limitations of plastic sheets?
The weight limitations of plastic sheets can vary depending on the specific type and thickness of the sheet. Generally, plastic sheets have lower weight capacities compared to other materials like metal or wood. However, lightweight plastic sheets can typically support loads ranging from a few pounds to a few hundred pounds, while thicker and more durable sheets can handle heavier loads. It is recommended to consult the manufacturer's specifications or conduct testing to determine the exact weight limitations of a specific plastic sheet.
Q: I can't think of the name of this material at the moment and have searched the net to no avail so far. They are made to look like tiles/slates but come in sheets measuring about 8x4 ft. They are light by comparison with the real thing and would suit the roof I need to cover. Can anyone refer me to a website dealing with them or give me any details as to how they are installed? Thanks for the info!!!
4' x 8' plywood is often used to 'sheath' a roof. Corrugated metal or fiberglass/plastic has been used to cover roofs and they can come in 4 x 8 sheets I don't believe the fiberglass/plastic, or that formica, (which is what I think you mean by 'plastic tiles/slates) will satisfy most fire codes.
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for window well covers?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for window well covers. They are often used as a cost-effective and lightweight option to protect window wells from debris, water, and animals.
