Q:I'm gonna build a pc, the graphics card is an XFX Radeon 6970 and the power supply is a cooler master 750w. Im new to this and I dont want to buy a cable online and have it be the wrong one
If you are asking this, don't build a pc, keep learning on google and youtube. You dont need a special cable, it comes with the power supple, and the cables are for extra power for the graphics chip (pci express slot cannot supply enough power so it needs those cables to supplement it)
Q:The Leader of the band inists that all power cables connected to the amplifires be placed away from the performance area.
1. People come to see the performers not cables. Keeping them out of sight makes a better presentation and is safer for the performers. 2. Keeping the power cables away from the audio cables is just good practice. Low level (mic and line level) signals from mics and instruments are no match for high current power cables. The high current power cables produce magnetic fields that can induce hum into low level audio cables. Balanced cables, ones that use 3 pin XLR connectors are better than unbalanced RCA or phono plug audio cables. In the real world audio cables do have to cross power cables. When this happens try to cross them at 90 degree angles. Try to keep power and audio about a foot apart if possible. You may not be able to do this 100% of the time, but the better you run your cables the better the sound will be as far as hum is concerned. Hope this helps. D.bumstead
Q:My friend I were going to play his second Xbox 360 n his living room. Went to turn it on and the RROD turned up with three lights. So we took this one and hooked it up to the cables in his room. And guess what? No RROD... So, I am lead to belive that the Xbox 360's power cable is the one that causes the RROD. Only problem is that most people can' test this due to not having a second power cable. So post your ideas about this idea. Could Microsoft be lying to us by saying that the malfunction is inside there console. I'm only 14 and i figured this out. So, how is it that no one else has??
Check the light on the power supply. If it's red, then that means your problem is with your power supply. That's what Microsoft says RIGHT THERE on their website.
Q:I bought a new amp and sub to replace my old ones. I disconnected the battery, unplugged the old amp and plugged the new one in and when I reconnected my battery the power cable began to smoke at all the exposed ends and got very hot. What causes this? Is it because the new amp requires more current than the old one and that is causing it to get very hot? And what is the solution to my problem? Thanks
you are creating a short circuit with the battery if this is happening while the amp is not on. disconnect all wires and make sure your positive lead goes to only positive terminal /amp input. then do the same for the ground. if you dont have a fuse protecting the wire it will get so hot it will melt the insulation and start a fire. if this is happening only when the amp is on and your system is pulling a large current through it (music real loud) then you need to upgrade your wires asap. make sure you have a fuse protecting the power wire close to the battery and a fuse whenever you downgrade in size of wire. a $1 fuse with the correct rating for the wire its protecting will safe your *** if you short circuit.
Q:He has made a couple of really small slits in the black plastic on the wire, all in the same place, but on both sides. I can see silver through it, but no other colours. I have unplugged it from the laptop and the mains, as I assume I shouldn't use it. However, it is the bit attached to the big square thing (sorry, I don't know what it is called), does that have a charge, so should I do something special with the wire? Also, is there any way to repair it, like electrical tape, or should I just go buy another cable this afternoon?I have a Sony Vaio in case that is important.(and before anyone says, don't let your dog chew the wire, he usually leaves the wire alone, I left him for a couple of seconds and when I came back he was chewing something next to the wire, so I guess he missed! I've learnt my lesson and I won't be leaving him in the vicinity of the laptop on his own ever again!)
no its fine but i would suggest that you take caution in plugging it back in maybe wear rubber gloves or something but you shoould be fine, some people would go out and by a new cord but it is completely unneccesary
Q:turun these sentences from active to passive remember- only by plus a noun or pronoun if this information is necessary .
2. All the power cables were brought down by a storm. 3. What is he had invited her before last weekend?
Q:Hey! I bought a new sound system for my truck including 4 new speakers, a sub, a 5-channel amp, and I'm running all new wiring. So far I've got the 3 RCA cables ran, along with the blue remote turn-on wire along the right side of my truck. I plan to run the Power wire down the left side and then to my amp.I've heard that you put the power wire and RCA cables on different sides, which is what I've done, but is it ok for my speaker wires to be run beside or close to the power wire(4-gauge fyi)? For example, the right side speaker wires wont be near it, but the left side speaker wires will be...Will this cause any weird noise from my speakers?I don't have the names/etc of all my gear right in front of me, but if u rly need it, I will quot;add detailsfor you! Thanks!!
Well....That is determined by how colossal the amp is. An extension wire has either 2 or three wires inside of at someplace between sixteen and 12 gauge wire. You could twist the entire conductors together and be excellent up to about 40 amps with three 12 gauge wires. The quandary with amplifiers is current no longer voltage. The thicker the wire the more present it will handle. Most any wire you purchase is rated as a minimum 120V. Check what dimension fuse the amp requires, whether it is more than 30 to forty amps i would purchase the correct size single wire for the amp. Also, fuse the wire at the battery. Fire is just not our pal. :)
Q:I am doing a test if the power supply. Can you have the computer on and plugged in with PSU out in the open, leave on the carpet ?Can you have the power cable plugged into the psu first and then try to plug in the psu cable into the mother board. Would this electrocute you? if you accidentally knocked over liquid onto the power supply while the computer is running and you touched the motherboard at the same time while you are perfectly grounded. Can this electrocute you? unpluging the psu connector while the computer is on?
Power okorder /... Look at the photo all the way to the right. Shows you the motherboard power cable plugged in. That is the backside of the connector you're looking at. The jumper wire goes to the Green wire socket, and the Black wire socket next to it. Pins 14 15, in this type of motherboard connector. No matter what style of motherboard connector you have, it's the Green wire, and any Black wire. Green is the Soft Power On, any Black wire is a ground. Just touch it - Briefly. You'll see a spark. If the Psu is good, the computer power supply will turn on. (The spark may make you glad you had a rubber glove on!)
Q:hi i need to connect a extra cd rom drive to my computer and dont have enough 4 pin power cables in my computer how would i get those and how would i install those. Thanks
These are called Y-Cable. Buy one. Remove the power cable from the old cdrom. Attach it to the newly purchased cable. Now you get 2 new points. Attach one to old cdrom and other to the new cdrom.
Q:My cable broke, and I need a new one. This type of 4-pin connection to the PSU: I need multiple SATA connectors, if possible a really long cable. :3 I've been looking everywhere but can't seem to find it, I'm probably just not searching for the right terms. Thanks!
thats not a sata cable, thats a motherboard 4 pin power connection, you cant replace it, you need to buy a new PSU. Edit_ just google 4 pin motherboard power cable Edit_ i think i know what you mean now. you have a moduler PSU, were you can take off the cables? and put them on if you want more? just google Modular Sata power cable, or something like that. you'll probably have to ask the manufacturer for these if it is though, because there hard to find. the only other thing that you could use (and that i could think of) is a Molex to sata (molex is the square 4 pin one)
