- Q: I got all brand new tires. The max PSI writtin on the tire is 51. I put them to between 49 and 50. About a month later maby less, they all dropped down exactly 10 psi. Why? Im from south louisiana and its hot and humid.
- Why would you inflate the tires to 51 psi? That's dangerous. 51 psi is the maximum rated pressure for the tire, not the recommended pressure for that tire on your vehicle. Use the tire pressure recommended by the vehicle manufacturer and found on the service plate inside the drivers door frame or inside the glovebox door.
- Q: I have a 12x6 enclosed cargo trailer and was wondering if anyone makes a winter tire for them. My truck has winter all terrains on but because the trailer has crappy standard tires my family and I are in a hotel because the trailer almost wrecked us from sliding even at a low speed. Hopefully they do I would feel better with tires made for the Weather and not the ones on the trailer now.
- Sounds like you have the gain set too high on your electric trailer brake control head, and they locked up. Either that or your trailer tires are bald.
- Q: Noticed today that my rear tire has more wear on it than my front tire does is that normal? Also what‘s the proper psi for my bicycle? I have 20 psi n them now is that too much? My rear tire was flat and I fixed it with tire sealant.
- 1) Yes.back tires wear out faster because there is more weight placed upon them. #2) Proper tire inflation is clearly stamped on the sidewall of every tire made - by law - no matter what type of tire. 20 psi is WAY too low. Most mountain bike tires run somewhere between 40 - 65 psi. #3) Tire sealant does not work - period. It can throw a tire off balance, it smells like s***, and most importantly - it voids any tire or tube warranty.
- Q: I recently bought new tires for my 07‘ Chevy Silverado and I was asking about larger rims and tires possibly 20 inch or more and the gentleman said that larger rims and tires on newer vehicles will affect my on board computer and he does not recomend it. Is this true? I see vehicles all the time with larger rims and tires.
- by going for a larger overall tyre diameter, you are gearing your car faster for the same rpm. this will make your speedo read LOW. it will make your engine work harder on hills etc, though it may wind out to an higher top speed. it may or may not improve mileage, depending on whether the car was originally undergeared or not. rim diameter affects sidewall height choices and handling, tyre diameter affects gearing, braking, economy and speed. tyre width affects speed, handling and wear.
- Q: I got a flat tire, didn‘t know how so I go and put more air in the tire and notice that it is coming out of the little tube which you put the air in through, it is almost like the tube rubbed up against the rim and slit the a whole in the that tubeBasically is there any way I can repair that instead of getting a whole new tire?I bought that green slime stuff and tried that, the botte suggested it wouldn‘t work but I thought for eight bucks it was worth a shotdidnt work tho
- Are you simply coming to a stop? Decelerate, shift down, decelerate, shift down, etc. until in first gear. Meanwhile braking. At the end, just before stalling, de-clutch and hold the bike stopped in first gear. Same as a car! Decelerate each gear down to first, de-clutch just before stalling, remaining in first gear. For safety you always in gear for the correct speed.
- Q: By my experience, almost all cars experience more tire wear on the front than the rear -- not just front wheel drive cars.I took my 88 Volvo to the Firestone shop to have them re-install the all-weather tires and remove the snow tires. They put the rear tire on the front. When I pointed out that the least worn tire should be on the front, they said this was their policy to avoid oversteer during braking. If many cars, including the 88 Volvo, have tires which wear most on the front, and if they always put the worn tires on the front (even without the customer‘s notification or permission) THEN it is never possible to extend tire wear by rotating the slightly worn tires to the rear.1) Do you know of cars which tend to wear most on the front?2) Isn‘t the point of rotating tires to extend the life of the tires by swapping front to rear?To me this is just a scam by Firestone to sell more tires. And incidentally, they would have to put the brand new tire on the REAR, minimizing overall tire life.
- alway place better tire on rear standard practice not a scam front wheels tend to wear more yes but not reason for placing better tires on rear to prevent fish tailing it rain lost of control standard to place better tire on rear the point of rotating tires to extend the life of the tires by swapping front to rear yes but no reason to rotate a wore out tire over safety of placement which is why they put better tire on rear for your safety you roate tires at every oil change but you dont roate a wore out tire you replace even then new tire go to rear here a few links but youy can search for your self type into search box where to add new tires or just call three brand name tire stores where to place new tires how to check tire tread how to read tire wear
- Q: Car tire pressure how much is appropriate
- Low pressure tire; inflatable pressure of 0.1471 ~ 0.490MPa (1.5 ~ 5kg / cm ?); low pressure tire is generally applicable to private cars; usually household car inflatable tire pressure 0.2 ~ 0.25MPa.
- Q: What kind of car tires are good?
- Power control, send and receive freely. The world famous car supporting, driving the trend of the times. Pirelli tires.
- Q: which company manufactures the best tyres (tires) bridgestone, pirelli or is there anyone else ?
- I have had both. For me, I prefer Pierelli, but Bridgestone are good also. Pirelli seems to last much, much longer, and I think are better for gripping and cornering in the wet. Importantly, I always replace at least two tyres at a time, like front, replace both, so both sides get absolutely equal road contact, and no chance of one tyre causing any trouble with the other. This becomes even more important if you are driving at highway speeds. A last thougth: Consider warranty: Cars come with fairly cheap tyres to keep costs low, thus while safe, they are not necessarily the best for long term wear and reliability. Also, if I have one tyre go bad, like I did on my 93 Toyota, I often will replace all of them, especially if several years old. Again, safety. If one has failed, then another may follow. If a nail or tack, that is different, but if it is just plain being knackered, then better to replace all, in my humble, wimpy, want to feel safe opinion!
- Q: I have alex ace-18 rims on my kona, and i currently have 26x2.1 tires on it. I am wondering what the largest size of tire i could get is???
- Maximum tire width depends on 2 things: 1. Frame clearance 2. Internal rim width First check the width of your frame and fork to see what tire width they can handle. Second, be realistic. These rims will not handle the Surly Endomorph 3.7 tires for the Pugsly. They pretty much fit just the Pugsly. Largest I'd recommend after checking frame width is 2.25. Anything larger is generally a down-hill tire.
