Q:Need new tires for me 02 escalade wondering if anyone could tell me if these tires are good or not if not any other recommendations for around $150 a tire
I assume you are referring to the Kumho Road Venture AT KL78. Also, I assume you are in need of a LT265/70R17 sized tire. The Road Venture AT KL78 is a decent quality tire. However, there are certainly better quality tires available for the same amount of cash. You do realize the Kumho KL78 is a On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tire, correct? Sure that is what you want for your Escalade? If it is the BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain T/A, Firestone Destination A/T or the General Grabber AT 2 would all be better tires for the money. Only use this type of tire though if you are truly going to be off roading in you Cadillac. Otherwise, consider getting a highway all season tire instead such as the Firestone Destination LE 2 or the Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S G051. They would be much more comfortable and long lasting. FYI, all tires I have mentioned can be had for $150 or less.
Q:Question, one of my tires was destroyed (huge hole from hitting a rock or something, can't be repaired). My question is, I can't find the same brand tire as the one I had, so I have to go with a different brand than the other 4 tires on my car. Does this matter at all? 1 tire will be a different brand than the other tires but the tire will obviously fit the car (according the the size, width, etc. on the other tires). So does brand make that much of a difference if it's only the one tire? It's my front right tire. It's a 4 door Sedan.
If you have an all-wheel drive car, all four tires really should match. Apart from that, if you're a conservative driver (i.e., no aggressive cornering, etc.) the mismatch shouldn't be too much of a problem. Try to keep the mismatched pair on the rear to minimize any effect on steering.
Q:what are the ingredients of a tire black
Tires are surprisingly complex. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking in the question. Specifically, the black in tires is carbon black (i.e. soot!) that has been mixed into the rubber during processing. This is done to give the rubber additional strength and to lower costs. (This is known as rubber compounding). The rubber used in tires if I remember correctly is usually a blend with a major part natural rubber. When the tire is assembled the rubber will be cured (usually with sulphur + accelerators and high temperatures). Tires also usually have fabric plies and steel inserts for additional strength and durability.
Q:Two of my tires got pretty much destroyed by something sharp in the road. One of the tires had a warranty since i just got it last year. It was from pepboys. When the tow truck came he brought me to a tire place since pep boys was far away. I could only afford to buy one new tire, so i got it then used my spare as the other tire. This happened about a week ago so if I go to pep boys can I use the warranty to get a new tire? But i do not have the flat tire with me. The other place got rid of it when they put the new tire on.So will pep boys still accept the warranty without any proof?
Ask Pep Boys. What are you bothering us for?
Q:so my tire is a 700x23c victoria tire.It is worped a little.I have felt it and there is a little buldge in it.will it explode on a ride?should I get a new tire?
It will depend where the bulge is. If it is on the side close to the rim it could be just from the tire not being seated on the rim properly. Deflate and re-seat the tire on the rim. If the bulge is any place else replace the tire replace it. A bulge is caused by the cords in the tire being broken.
Q:How can I rate cooper tires; and how can I compare them with Continental and good year
Try to invest in baby tanks or keep the baby in it's diaper a lot so it can stay coolsorry for saying it you didn't specify it's genderbut yeah and buy a air conditioner or fan or something
Q:at the bridgestone/ firestone website, they have the list of tire sizes and prices and also specs about the tire, and one of the specs is load capacity, the load capacity for the tire im interested in is 1411 lbs 35 psi, now, does that mean all the tires capacity together or just that one tire, and if its all of the tires then would it make it about 6000 lbs total?
The load capacity info on the tire is per tire. Certain tires and sizes have different load capacity. Obviously the larger the tire the greater the load capacity. There are some cases (mostly in truck tires) where there are different load capacity ranges for the same tire. Most of the time you don't need to worry about this unless you are changing sizes and don not want to go under what is recommended for the car.
Q:does it mean it doesnt hav a tube inside the tire??? why is it called so?pls tell me in detail... Thanks in Advance....
yes thats what it means... most cars and truck have been that way for 25 yrs and more.. only a few tires have tubes now days and not many cars or trucks will have them at all been a tire guy 25 yrs
Q:What is the benefit of tubeless tyres over the same with tubes?
Less heat buildup and goes flat slower if you get a puncture
Q:Has anyone bought these tires for their Mazda5? I need all four tires replaced and these seem like a really good buy.
Toyo's are actually very good tires. I have an '07 3 with 20k on its Toyo's. You may want to just go with a higher grade of Toyo however the best tire you can buy is a Michelin. Good Years are not at the quality that they used to be when they were made in the states, they are now made in Mexico. I would price out Toyo and Michelin. 12/5/07 After I left that comment I noticed my tires are almost worn out aswell. I asked my boyfriend (works at a tire shop) about it and he said that since they are speed rated tires they will wear out much faster. You probably have the same thing. Good luck.
