- Q: My mother owns a Honda Accord 1995 and she was wondering, aside from the 180/70 tire size, which other tire size can she put on?
- The tire size is actually P185/70R14 88S and no, unless she changes wheels there is no other good substitute size. Why on earth would she want to change the tire size? The people who designed and built the car seem to think that size works just fine.
- Q: Are boggers good for a daily driver? Or are the Irok tires any good?
- There is no good offroad tire for the street. Resign yourslf to stupid noisy driving and frequent, expensive tire replacements, or as HMC said, get two sets of tires and wheels. Realize that tires are only good about 8-10 years before they are considered dangerous (due to rubber degradation, wear is not the factor here) and need to be replaced. As an aside, I thought the 8-10 year thing was a gimmick, however my BFG AT's right at about 8 years (the truck is not used but for a couple of weeks each year, so tread never wears) started to lose air slowly. Putting soapy water on them confirmed numerous leaks in the tires, and very close inspection revealed tiny cracks at the bottom of every tread lug, some of which leaked. LOL. An offroad tire is not an onroad tire. An AT is ok at both on and off road. An MT is good offroad and poor onroad. A street tire is good onroad and poor offroad. A daily driver tire is not appropriate for true offroad use, no matter how you cut it. And no offroad tire is suitable for onroad use either. Sure, it can be done, as long as you don't mind the noise and how much money you waste replacing them.
- Q: does it mean it doesnt hav a tube inside the tire??? why is it called so?pls tell me in detail... Thanks in Advance....
- yes thats what it means... most cars and truck have been that way for 25 yrs and more.. only a few tires have tubes now days and not many cars or trucks will have them at all been a tire guy 25 yrs
- Q: black or crome rims??? or Over size tires?
- Larger tires less gas milage. Go online with Tire Rack Dot Com and look at what your truck will look like with different wheel and tire combinations.
- Q: The panel on my door says my tire pressure should be 33 psi BUT!!! the tire says 80 psi Which is the correct tire pressure to have????
- You must be reading the tire wrong. 33 psi.
- Q: What does the car tires represent above?
- For example: 235 / 70R16 235 is the maximum width of the cross section of the tire is 235 mm, 70 is the flat ratio, R is the representative of the radial tire, 16 on behalf of the tire diameter of 16 inches
- Q: my scion tc came with 215/45zr17 tires. will i be able to fit 225/45zr17 tires on the stock wheels? i have the opportunity to get a good deal on a pair of good tires
- First of all they will fit just fine,- no difference in readings on speedometer! You do not get into speedometer problems till you change circumference of tires! -- All you are doing is putting on a tire that is 10mm wider - this is approximately 3/8 of an inch. Barely perceptible! If using the same wheels. this comes in with different series tires, (#s in middle of specs). For instance if there was also a 55 series tire, the rubber between road and rim would be greater, - making the circumference greater also. A forty series would be less, making circumference less also! There might be a very slight advantage in putting wider ones on back, -should marginally affect handling characteristics, -- but then again it may not even be perceptible, --- if you aren't doing competition driving! Wider tires might give you just a wee better control of break-away of traction in very tight high speed turns! Since the wider rubber has just slightly longer adhesion before skidding (or spinning car out)!
- Q: I have an Expedition and want to change tire size from 255/70/16 to 265/75/16. Will the new tires fit the existing rim without any problem?
- Shouldn't be a problem but some tire outfits have a hissy fit if you want to have them put non-OEM size tires on your car.
- Q: Car tires inside and outside wear is not the same thing
- Need to do four rounds of positioning, about 100 or so
- Q: Well, I have seen tires with a red outline right near the rim, going around the tire. The tire is black, but with that bright red outline, it makes it look really great, so does anyone know where to get this, or have any information on this, via websites, experience, etc? thanks-dat
- Coker tire owns the molds to the original Firestone Redline tires that you may be referring to. Coker sells redlines under Firestone, BFG, and Coker Classic brand names. Go to their website and enter redline in the search box. BFGoodrich also made a tire at one time that had red, blue, or yellow stripes in the tread area of the tire!
