Aluminium foil is aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (8 mils); thinner gauges down to 6 micrometres (0.24 mil) are also commonly used. The foil is pliable, and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects.Thin foils are fragile and are sometimes laminated to other materials such as plastics or paper to make them more useful. Aluminium foil supplanted tin foil in the mid 20th century.
Some aluminium foil products can be recycled at around 5% of the original energy cost, although many aluminium laminates are not recycled due to difficulties in separating the components and low yield of aluminium metal.

Q: I'm going to turn my barn into a rabbitry and need to insulate it to keep it around 75 degreesRight now it has exterior walls and studs showing on the insideI plan on putting a high R valued insulation up and OSB as the wallsQuestion: If I put regular aluminum foil (Reynolds) on the exterior wall (from the inside facing in) then put the insulation up then attach another layer of aluminum foil to the side of the OSB facing the insulation, would that provide better insulation? Everywhere I look, I see stuff about the foil insulationJust wondered if I added regular aluminum foil (Reynolds) to the job would be close to the same thing or is that usless? Thanks!
Polystyrene is a well insulater, however there are special densities, i have no idea which you've, any manner the fine insulation is product known as kingspan, it is available in 8X4 sheets and also you reduce it to suit tightly among your roof trusses, you are going to must strip the plaster board off to try this, constructing rules dictate that there need to be a float of air round your roof trusses, accordingly you cant use rockwool or a pumped insulation, you need to use a pretty good insulation geared up in such away that it does no longer have compatibility almost the roof tilesGood Luck
Q: I have some serious problems with my 3 months old catI urgently need some advice! She just doesn`t stop scrathcing my and my visitors hands, she jumps all over the place, drops down different objects, and, what`s worst, I also have a parrot and a fish tank, and all day long I gotta keep my eye on her, not to eat my little fishIt`s just tiring already, but i can`t give it awaywhat should I do? Please help me! Note that it`s a male.
I often find good deals on eBay for fabric and yarnIf you're looking for fabric on eBay, be sure to include the word yard or yd in your searchThat way, you get to skip looking at all the 4 quilt squares you don't want.
Q: In quite simple terms, can anyone answers this question for me? In my chemistry lesson today we put some aluminium in cold hydrochloric acid, and it just sank; no reactionHowever when we put in warm hydrochloric acid it bubbled, fizzed, jumped around and even over-flowed out of the test tubeSo why did it do it in the warm acid but not the cool one? Thanks, points for the best answer.
Essentially this has everything to do with the activation energyThis is the energy required for the reaction to beginIf you reacted Magnesium with HCL then you would get a vigorous reaction even at a cold temperatureHowever, Aluminium has a higher activation energy and thus needs the extra energy in the form of heat in order to react.
Q: I am scrapping a desktop computer but thought I would keep the RAM sticks to upgrade other machinesWhat's the best readily-available material to wrap them in to protect from damage by static? Aluminium foil?
I wouldn't do aluminum foil, but don't use plasitic either, plastic builds up a static charge because it doesn't conduct, aluminum easily conduct a static shock if you were charged, the best option would be to get an antistatic bag, but you would have to buy them onlinejust put them in something like idk, a paper bag, and then don't mess with themmake sure your grounded (no static buildup, go around touching metal objects that touch the floor like table legs) when you touch them again.
Q: does anyone have any receipes for bread using rice flour?
There are a great many decent yarns out there that are not acryllic and not horrendously expensiveAnd, yes, they do make a difference in your finished sweaterLion Brand is not a bad yarn to start with, but a yarn shop can give you many other options than you will find at most mass marketersLamb's Pride is a very nice yarn of wool and mohair that makes lovely sweaters, so is Cascade 220, among many, many othersWhile both are more expensive than Lion Brand Wool-Ease, they are not exorbitantly priced, and even a knitter of modest means can knit a lovely first sweater for $60 to $80 dollars that will stand up and last in a nicer fashion than Red Heart or Caron type yarnsIf you are going to invest the time and energy in knitting a garment you want a better quality of yarnHowever, there are some acryllics that have a better hand (fabric texture and feel) such as Paton's Decor and Plymouth Encore that are not horribly expensiveAnother wool option, btw, not horribly expensive either, is Paton's Classic Merino WoolThat one is an especially good buy at about $5 a ball, because it has excellent yardage and a sweater requiring 1000 yards (which about a woman's medium size sweater) only needs 5 balls.
Q: Which of these Airsoft guns is better?
I've had five for near two years and never had a problem with flies or bugs.

Q: Do aerosol cans have to be cylindrical?
They can be square, but it's a lot easier and cheaper to make round cans that can withstand the internal pressureSquare ones would need much thicker walls and/or reinforcingHow often do you see square balloons? Addendum: As a marketing gimmick, how can square cans be manufactured cheaplyish, that would hold the pressure? Well, let's see, one way is to consider a square can that has a square cross section, but has a bulge in the middle, so that all four sides are actually segments of a cylindrical surfaceProducing such cans out of seamless aluminum would be difficult, but not impossible, requiring entirely new tooling from the conventional ones that have been in use for over half a centuryAnother variant of this idea is to have wavy sides, while maintaining a square cross section, so that at least most of the surface area is composed of segments of a cylindrical surfaceWith a little refinement, it should be possible to keep the flexure of the can from internal pressure to a minimumThis, again, would be even harder to manufacture than the previous idea, but not impossibleif a large beer company was willing to spend millions in developing tooling for such unusual aluminum cans, it can be doneSuch a wavy can with square cross section might be able to be refined to the point where it's almost like a vertical box, but nonetheless, having that small amount of waviness is critical to its structural strengthAddendum 2: You know, I recall that years ago I used to fold a piece of paper that could be rolled together into a slender vertical box with wavy sidesNow that I think about it, maybe that can be done with tin cans, and I believe it could be structurally sound for internal pressures.
Q: 1.)Aluminum is used to make airplanes.Cast irons is used to make weightlifting equipment.Explain why the densities of these metals make them useful for these purposes.2.)Why does changing the shape of an object have an effect on the density of that object?3.)calculate the densities of the following objects.Remember to place units after each number.Object A length6cm width3cm height1cm mass36gobject b lenght10cm width5cm height2 cm mass300gthanks.
1) Aluminum is used to make airplanes because it is a lot less denseCast irons are used to make weightlifting equipment because it is very dense2) If you have a piece of paper, its density is low, if you crumple the paper up, it will be more dense therefor having more weight3) Lol i forgot the method for thatHope this helps :)
Q: Can u help me???
No Bake Cookies Ingredients: 2 cups sugar 1/4 cup butter (or 1/2 stick butter) 1/4 cup cocoa 1/2 cup milk 2 cups oats 1/2 cup peanut butter ~ plus some (I round off my peanut butter, so I'm actually using quite a bit more) 1 tspvanilla Mix sugar, butter, cocoa and milk in a heavy saucepan (a thin saucepan can cause scorching)Bring to a rolling boil ~ here's the redneck/hillbilly part of this recipe ~ boil for 1 minute and 30 seconds, preferably counted as one-one thousand, two-one thousand, three-one thousandall the way to ninety-one thousand ~ sounds silly, but mine turns out great every time doing thisRemove from burner and add peanut butter (remember to round off your measuring cup when measuring out 1/2 cup!) and oats ~ mix, then add the vanilla and mix some moreDrop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper ~ or my favorite way, to add an extra buttery taste is to smear butter all over aluminum foil and drop by spoonfuls onto the foilI've got some more recipes on my blog:
