- Q: In today's wide variety of packaging for drinks which is the most preferable with regards to Eco-friendliness? Glass, cardboard, glossy cardboard for tetra paks, tin and aluminum cans plastic and what have you?
- It depends on what the berverage is.In North America most,non-keg, beer is packaged in either a can or a standard long neck bottle. The bottle is standardized so that multiple breweries can sterilize and re-use them numerous times no matter what beer it had in it before 100% re-use which in my opinion is better than recycling(I admit I could be wrong about that though) because it doesn not have to be re-manufactured like a can would. For other beverages I'd have to say either glass bottles or cans because of the recycleability of them.

- Aluminum foil go in with cansI never reuse plastic bags that have had meat or dairy in themOthers I doI use a trash can with no bags and rinse it once a weekI turn oil cans upside down, into an empty oil can,to drain every drop (every 3rd oil change or so this gives me a FREE quart) I put used, not new, oil in oil squeeze cans to use for drilling and tappingI read the newspaper online to save paper and moneyI wash Yogurt and Margarine containers (also jars plastic glass) and use for storing leftoversI used to empty cigarette butts and re-roll into a cigarette but quit smokingI only use a Mag Lite if necessary other wise I use wind up or shaker flashlightsWhen making coffee I just add more to filter each pot until filter is full(I only use one filter for 3-4 pots) I dry old coffee filters (with used coffee) and then throw on fire in wood stoveDried bread is thrown out on ground for birds, old food for dogs and cats.(I no longer raise hogs) I try to wash car on a rainy day and let rain do the rinsingI plan to start composting and install gray water traps to use for gardenI do not recycle plastic because I think it is unhealthy to store until recycling day that only comes once a year, hereI take my old tyres home (and avoid the $5 per tyre recycling charge) then take them to local cement plant that recycles them for free (once a year) I try to do most garage work at night in summer to minimize AC usage, (Daytime in winter to minimize heater.)

I have a 1998 Caravelle 1900BR it has a 3.0L 140hp Volvo Penta SXWe do alot of watersports: pulling tubes, skis, and wakeboardsWould a 3 blade or 4 blade be better? Also aluminum or stainlessI have heard pros and cons of bothCan anyone recommend a pitch? Thanks.
- You need more information1Load boat as normal; people fuel tank, any other things you take that is heavy2Run boat at wide open throttle, and trim drive as usual3Record RPM of engineDo not run boat very long at WOT4Remove old prop, take to prop shop5Tell them all about 1,2,3, and that you like to tube and skiIf they are decent people they will sell you the correct prop and probably give you something for the old oneBut then again you should carry a spare prop, thrust washer, lock washer, and nut on board for emergencies.
- Q: Show work
- First determine the molar mass of aluminum nitrate: Al(NO3)3Assuming it's anhydrous aluminum nitrate, using the atomic masses of the elements: Al: 26.98 N: 3 14.01 O: 9 16.00 Total: 213.01 g/mol The (NO3)3 means that there are 3 NO3 for each Al, so the total number of N in one mole is 3 and there are 339 OFrom this you can determine the number of moles in 237 g: 237 g / 213.01 g/mol 1.11 mol Then use the atomic mass of nitrogen and the number of moles of nitrogen in the compound (3): 1.11 mol 3 14.01 g/mol 46.7 g of nitrogen You can check your work by calculating the other elements and verifying they add to 237Al: 1.11 mol 26.98 g/mol 29.9 g O: 1.11 mol 9 16.00 159.8 g 159.8+29.9+46.7 236.4 (It's a little off due to rounding error)
- Q: I'm in a science fair project I didn't ask or want to be in and I need informational help. My project was to test different materials to see if they block radio waves. Aluminum foil was one of them and it is the only material that blocked radio waves. Now to the point, I have to type this part called ''Application''. It is how any gained information from this project can apply to the world or help real-life situations. The only thing I learned from this project is that aluminum foil blocks waves because it is an electrically conductive metal that can reflect and absorb radio waves and that every technological device or machine needs radio waves to work. But how can this help world situations ?! Who would want to block radio waves in real life? Everyone needs or probably wants radio waves! How can this be applied to the world?! Please help! It is taking me forever to get through this section of the project and I'm seriously almost done!!!!
- Sometime you need to keep a signal inside and interference outside. Take a close look at your cable TV wire. There is likely foil between the outside plastic shield and the inside wire. The signal going down the wire is within the RF band and the foil helps insulate it from outside noise. There are many applications where you need to shield devices, wiring is just one example. Good luck!
