1.Description

Aluminium foil (or aluminum foil) is aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (8 mils); thinner gauges down to 6 micrometres (0.24 mils) are also commonly used.[1] In the United States, foils are commonly gauged in thousandths of an inch or mils. Standard household foil is typically 0.016 mm (0.63 mils) thick, and heavy duty household foil is typically 0.024 mm (0.94 mils). The foil is pliable, and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects. Thin foils are fragile and are sometimes laminated to other materials such as plastics or paper to make them more useful. Aluminium foil supplanted tin foil in the mid 20th century.

Aluminium foil acts as a total barrier to light and oxygen (which cause fats to oxidise or become rancid), odours and flavours, moistness, and germs, and so it is used broadly in food and pharmaceutical packaging. The purpose of aluminium is to make long-life packs (aseptic packaging) for drinks and dairy goods, which allows storing without refrigeration. Aluminium foil containers and trays are used to bake pies and to pack takeaway meals, ready snacks and long life petfoods.

4.FAQ:

1)what is aluminum?

Aluminium (or aluminum; see spelling differences) is a chemical element in the boron group with symbol Al and atomic number 13. It is a silvery white, soft, nonmagnetic, ductile metal. Aluminium is the third most abundant element (after oxygen and silicon), and the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust. It makes up about 8% by weight of the Earth's solid surface.

Aluminium metal is so chemically reactive that native specimens are rare and limited to extreme reducing environments. Instead, it is found combined in over 270 different minerals. The chief ore of aluminium is bauxite.

Q: I just removed my seatpost and it is a 26.4 mm seatpostI dont know the size of the seat tube as I dont have anything to measure itWhat size derailleur would fit? 28.6 or 31.8?
That depends on the tubing thickness on the outsideSteel most likely 28.6 and Aluminium the latter (but that sounds a bit too thick) These days they are often universal but not alwaysThe best bet is to measure it either with a piece of sturdy wire and then a ruler or even easier get a bit of cardboard and cut a suitable slot in it, trim gently until it slips over the tube them measure it.
Q: 1) Iraq attempting to buy uranium in Africa2) Iraq buying aluminum tubes to enrich uranium3) Iraq had mobile chemical weapons labs to evade detection4) Iraq was involved in the attack on 9/11Did the Bush admin argue these points pre-invasion?Did the Bush admin scape goat US intel agencies who warned them that these claims had little or no merit?
You're better than this, Chi Guy: Points 1, 2 and 3; We don't really know what Bush did nor didn't have in terms of intelligence on IraqThe very nature of intelligence (bits and pieces here and there; very difficult to get anything conclusive) made it difficult to state with 100% certainty whether Iraq had WMD's or notTHAT IS THE REASON THAT UNFETTERED INSPECTIONS FOR WMD WAS IN THE TREATY THAT ENDED GULF WAR I IN THE FIRST PLACEOnce Saddam refused to allow 100% unfettered access, he was in violation of the treatyTherefore, prudence demanded that we act to make sure that he was not resuming his WMD programIf you want to argue that there may have been better ways to deal with this (applying leverage or Iraq's allies, containment, etc) I can understand thatHowever, to imply that Bush lied about everything and this action was completely unjustified is wrongAs far as point 4 is concerned, if I recall correctly, the only thing the administration stated was that there was contact between Saddam and agents of al-QaedaI don't recall the administration ever making the link between Iraq and 9/11.
Q: So if you get hit with a taser i was wondering if you could transfer the electrons by touching someone else or something?

Q: How to make paper mache look smooth?
Do not cover the ventsThe temp in your attic should be the same as the outside tempHeating the attic space will melt any snow that might be on the room and cause ice damsThe best solution would be to add insulation being sure to keep the vents in the soffit clear to ensure proper ventilation in the attic.
Q: Sculpting a Mask around a mannequin's head?
Take some plasticine and make the features more general Apply some plastic film or aluminum foil then coat with a release agent Work with the epoxy putty outside or with a lot of ventilation Think about tools you don't mind being encased in the putty
Q: Aluminum foil foil uses what are the benefits?
Most of the foil side light, the other side of the aluminum foil with matte finish. Food can double wrapped food, are often recommended to light bread, enhance the heat conduction effect.
Q: i want to make a big booming firework concoction HELP
here's a lil secret: 1get a roll of off-brand aluminum foil 2get Sno-Bowl toilet bowl cleaner 3roll aluminum foil into small, dime-sized balls 4put the foil balls into a container with the Sno-Bowl 5run like hell
Q: I am doing an qualitative analysis of anions in classThere is aluminum with nitrate ions and Sodium hydroxide in a test tubeA cotton wad is stuffed in, not touching the ammoniaThen a piece of litmus paper is put inHow come it cannot touch the cotton?
But.the paper makes it easier to openI get aggravated when I don't have a kiss with the little piece of paper, I have troule opening it and always end up ruining the chocolateYou just have to be gentle with it!
Q: Why the double-sided self-adhesive foil easily layered and very smelly.
Generally speaking, both sides of double-sided self-adhesive are usually isolating membrance, not aluminum foil. Both sides need to be uncovered to use as pre-installed and inverted adhered. If one layer is aluminum foil, it's one side self-adhesive. If it's smelly, it is must made of inferior raw material with one industrial waste as self-adhesive material. This kind of raw material has strong cancerogenic effects. It's also very smelly in the making process. Campus surrounding plants also die because of the smell. What's more, its waterproof effect is also decreased. You would better not to use it.
Q: it might be a stupid question but them intakes from kn are highi have a 1994chevy z71 with a TBI 350 i want to put it oni was just wonderin if i could make one out of some 3 in flex pipe and a aftermarket filter or somethinplease real answers and no smartss commentsthanks
Look for lengths of 3 or 4 aluminum tubing at a good auto supply shopThey're great for running the straight lengthsYou'll also be able to source the 3 silicone sleeves and clamps as well I've seen fully functional stuff made out of 3 air conditioning ducting on off-road trucksOnly your talent and creativity limit what you can doJust make sure you use the smoothest stuff you can get your paws on, since the whole goal is to reduce restriction as well as port in fresh cold air.
