- Q: Yeah so basically in the question. I am stuck at home my brother is 15 and has 8 friends around camping in the garden but they are out at the moment. It is a rainy day and I am not sure what I can do with myself. Any suggestions?
- jerk off repeatedly
- Q: that will do well, i living in the caribbean. i have some space in the yard and would love to help the home a few streets away, i am new to gardening any advice on what will grow best and how long it will take to produce?
- I think that is such a beautiful thing to do!! With the beautiful weather in your area, you can grow quite a variety. First, kids are more likely to eat veggies if they are involved with the growing. If the kids are old enough and the home staff are willing to allow it, involve the kids. Start with what they like to eat. In general, kids I know love peas, green beans, cherry tomatoes, zucchini and yellow squash, cucumbers. Watermelon, especially the personal: size kind are always a big hit with the kids. As to time, it depends on variety. Peas could be producing is less than 2 months. Tomatoes and cucumbers, from plants, less than 1 month, Beans and the squashes -about 2 months. Watermelon could be 2-3 months, but the big leaves are wonderful and kids can measure the growth and record the size -they will see changes from one week to the next. Carrots are easy if the soil is not rocky. You can eat the tiny carrots that you thin out. You can plant any of the lettuces- kids do enjoy salad if they get to do a buffet. Give them a basket or little pail and let them pick a leaf or two from different plants. Can you taste the difference? Which one is the best? are great games to play to get them involved. For the plants that like cool: peas and lettuce, plant them where there is shade. I can grow them in the middle of the summer on the north side of my house in the shade of a tall tree as long as I give them proper watering. I would also plant some herbs: mint- in a pot, chives, basil, Please, consider keeping the garden free of chemicals. That way the kids can pick and eat the veggies right from the garden, and the home staff will be ok with not having to wash off chemicals.
- Q: My question is: Do other high ranking generals/admirals (like other members of the JCS) get similar houses? Obviously they get huge residences but do they have old historical homes similar to the one of the commandant? For example, where does the Chairman of the JCS live? Where is the official military residence of the Chairman of the JCS???
- Flag Officer housing is almost always old, historic homes, that either already had, or are outfitted with official spaces for them to conduct official functions. If the housing is newly built, then it is still large, with both official and private spaces. Flag Officer housing is appropriate for someone who is equivalent to a CEO. Senior flag officer housing at Norfolk Virginia are the old, large, State expositions houses form the 1907 Jamestown Exposition. Thirteen of them are still in use by flag officers for official residences. The housing for the Chief of Staff of the Army and the JCS Chairman and Vice Chairman are large, historic homes on Fort Meyer. The Chief of Naval Operations has his official residence in the Washington Navy Yard, while the Chief of Staff of the Air Force lives on Bolling Air Force Base - both large homes, the Air Force one being much newer.
- Q: My husband and I are hours away from going under contract on a new construction Townhouse in Independence (Winter Garden FL). If anyone out there is a current owner in the community, what is your impression of the HOA? I'm also hoping to have the tax info provided by Lennar confirmed by a resident. Thanks!
- In addition to the Price of a condo or townhouse purchase there are many things you should be aware of prior to your purchase offer and signing your sales contract. 1 Make sure you are given a copy of the CCRs as well as the by-laws. Make sure you read these two documents. (If they are not available then you should not sign any sales contract until you actually have a copy of these two documents in your hand. A condition of your sales contract should be that you read and approve the CCR and by-laws. Failure to read these two documents have caused condo owners more headaches than can be told here. Once you have accepted the condo and signed the sales contract it is too late if you find something you might object to in one or both these documents. #2 How much are the condo association fees and what might cause them to be increased When was the last time the condo fees were raised and for what reason. How much of a reserve do the association have if any? #3 When will the developer allow the owners to become members of the association? #4 Have the developers selected a management company. Check their track record out by getting their address and telephone number. This is the company that will be handling and allocating funds for your common areas, pool, property county taxes, landscape maintenance, as well as the ability to raise your association fees. #5 You would want to know if there are current law suits against the condo association or if a condo resident is suing the condo association. #6 You would want to know if more than one person own more than 10% of the condo units. Owing more than 10% of the complex would give one owner too much power and the ability to control the association and management company. I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck. - Q: Its my fav. recipe my mom use to cook as a kid. An she of course let my sister use the page. An now none of know what the recipe is lol.. does anyone else know?
- I don't have a 1981 Better Homes and Garden cookbook but I do have the Better Homes and Gardens All-Time Favorite Recipes from 1979. They don't have a recipe called Chicken Pot Pie but they do have a recipe called Carolina Chicken Pie which sounds just like a chicken pot pie. Here's the recipe: CAROLINA CHICKEN PIE 1 (4 1/2 to 5 pound) stewing chicken 8 cups water 1 medium onion, sliced 2 celery stalks with leaves 2 parsley sprigs 2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 3 hard-cooked eggs, chopped 1/2 c all-purpose flour Plain pastry In a 5-quart kettle combine chicken, water, onion, celery, parsley, salt and pepper. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, until chicken is tender, about 2 1/2 hours. Drain chicken, reserve broth and 1/4 cup chicken fat. Strain and refrigerate broth. Cool chicken enough to handle. Remove meat from bones; discard skin and bones. Cube meat; place in 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan. Sprinkle chopped hard-cooked eggs on top. In a saucepan combine reserved chicken fat and the flour. stir in 4 cups of the reserved broth. Cook and stir until bubbly; pour over the chicken. Prepare the Plain Pastry for a double-crust pie. Roll pastry to 14 x 12 rectangle. Place pastry over chicken; seal and flute edges. Cut slits; bake at 375 degrees until filling bubbles and pastry browns, about 45 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings. PLAIN PASTRY 1 c all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/3 c shortening 3 to 4 tablespoons cold water Stir together flour and salt; cut in shortening until pieces are the size of small peas. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon water over part of the mixture. Gently toss with a fork; push to the side of the bowl. Repeat until all is moistened. Form dough into a ball. Continue as directed in recipe. This makes one crust so double it for the above recipe and roll it out as it says above. Hope that helps.
- Q: What would you like to be in a home of the future?
- A good home of the future must have all that makes one comfortable. i.e a home garden, swimming pool, a nice specious house with everything inside it, a good parking for your car , a good drainage sytem with adequate water, a well fanced compound to mention just but a few
- Q: what kind of flower is this?
- Its a Hydrangea plant. If you are thinking of getting one and planting in your garden, be sure you dont mind about the colour because they tend to change colour sometimes depending on the soil. The acidity in the soil is sensitive to the plant.
- Q: My neighbor, who always worked outside in his yard, is now confined to a dementia ward in the local nursing home. He still responds to plants, trees, leaves etc. I did take him some bare branches in water off my corkscrew willow tree which have now leafed out and he likes that. What else can I do? I'm thinking of taking small pots full of potting soil and helping him start seeds, (coleus comes to mind as they could be transplanted and used as houseplants.) Do you have any other ideas? Obviously we are limited on space (there is a large windowsill in his room). Could we grow any vegetables? Thank you for any suggestions.
- We got my great grandmother a chia herb garden It was very simple, and only required the staff to water it daily. She could enjoy the fragrance and the staff could enjoy fresh herbs.
- Q: I am in college, but I want to start a garden just in case a plague hits. I don't have any physical area (like land) to keep my vegetables. What would be a good place? Maybe large or small pots, or wheel barrel. I also need it to be mobile. Also, can anyone give me the best survivalist websites?
- You need a lot of room to grow enough to sustain yourself try Hydroponics, its the only way to grow in a small confined area a lot of pots in an enclosed area is asking for dampness humidity problems and if the dirt is not clean, welcome to gnat city hydroponics can be set up to grow vine type plants that hang from a string to get more yield, but IMHO you wasting your time unless you have a good sized room supplemented with light from outside, if you want to use pots use vermiculite/perlite mixture and powered all purpose hydroponic nutrients you will have to learn how to adjust the PH information is readily available on line on how to do this and what to use as far as being mobile, that is something I would be wanting to see myself hydroponics can be set up and broken down very easy given the right system.
- Q: I know that Dawn dish soap does but giving my cats a bath would probably end up with a trip to the ED for stitches:( I heard something once about lemon juice.
- Purchase some Seven Dust from your local home and garden shop. You can dust your cat with it as well as your carpets. Sprinkle it around as you would Carpet Fresh, leave on over night then vacuum it up. Since it is made of dried Chrysanthemum flowers, it won't harm your cat!
