- Q:My puppy decided to chew the carpet going from my living room into my kitchen (which is laminate). Unfortunately, my attempts thus far have just made things worse. I was trying to put a transition piece in, but could not get it to stick since beneath the carpet is just concrete. My lease is up in 3 weeks and I'm getting a bit panicked. I read online that you can take a piece of carpet from a closet and use that piece to seam to ripped carpet, then grab some similar carpet from the store to replace the closet area. Any suggestions to make this process go easier? I think I just need a tack strip and some special tape that I get from lowes. Any other suggestions?
- to repair your carpet, you will need a carpet knife, level or square to guide your cutting.,double sided carpet tape, tape measure, first measure out the area you need, make sure it is prepped by squaring the area off, in a corner in the closet remove a section needed for your repair job. sweep or vac the area, place your double tape down, place your carpet on top and if you have a rolling pin, roll over the carpet to make it lay down and seal to the tape. you can pick up same carpets and replace the one in the closet.
- Q:My cousin spilled nail polish all over the carpet! How can we get it off the carpet and wall?
- Often nail polish on carpet is just on the very tips of the fibers. If this is the case you can just snip the polish off with sharp scissors. Just cut the very tips of the fibers. Work slowly. Don't cut a single millimeter more than you have to and pull up while cutting. This will help prevent divots in the carpet. Try your best to do just one or two fibers at a time...not a whole clump. This will work unless you have used nail polish remover and worked the nail polish deeper into the carpet. Good luck. -
- Q:We bought a new white linoleum floor to which we added a couple of bathroom rugs. When I went to pick up the rugs to throw them in the wash, I noticed the floor had yellowed underneath the rug. The stains were same shape of the rugs that covered it. The floor was meant to look like white marble now it looks like yucky yellow snow. How I can get these stains off? Will putting the rugs back down cause it to yellow once again? Shouldn't there be a warning lable on these rugs!
- use laundry detugent and water watch this video it will help Goodluck after clean do not put those rugs back down
- Q:im a new rider, and next week i will got my first pony. i wanna buy some rugs for him. Couly you introduce different rugs and good brands.im in UK.xx
- Is he coming with any rugs? See what he has before making any purchases. In terms of types, it depends on whether he is going to be field kept, stable kept, on a combined system and if he will be clipped in the winter. It also depends on the individual - some horses feel the cold more than others. It also depends on the storage space you have at the yard. My Connemara is on a combined system (in at night, out during the day) and has a hunter clip in the winter. These are the types of rugs he has: -Lightweight turnout -Middleweight turnout -Heavyweight turnout -Detachable neck cover for turnout rugs -Fly rug -Fleece coolers (we have a few of these as we like to keep one worn and the others clean for after bathing him when we are going competing) -Lightweight stable rug -Middleweight stable rug -Heavyweight stable rug -Duvet-type under rug -Summer sheet In the winter we layer rugs depending on the weather and the clip he has - he often starts with a blanket clip and once that starts to grow out, he has a hunter clip and requires more or different rugs. Rugs that are clean and not currently in use are left in the bags the cleaning lady put them in (we send rugs off to be cleaned a couple of times a year) and are stored in a wardrobe in a container provided by the yard we're on so they stay clean and dry. The rugs we currently use (fly rug, summer sheet, fleece, LW T/O) are hanging on racks in his stable - it may be summer, but the weather has no idea what to do so he is occasionally wearing a summer sheet or fleece at night. As for brands, it's trial and error. Our turnout rugs are Amigo and are about 12 years old and in excellent condition; our fly rug, under rug, summer sheet and one of the fleeces are Masta (again quite old - fly rug on its last legs though!); and his stable rugs all came with him. He did have two turnouts that came with him, but they got torn in the field - we tried patching them up, but they eventually died on us.
- Q:Hi there,We will soon be replacing our old, ugly carpet and baseboards with new. I'm wondering what should be installed first - the carpet, or baseboards? What material is best suited for baseboards? Thanks for your help!
- Capet goes first, cuz if you ( or some body else ) instals baseboards fisrt and they are to close to the floor, then the carpet will not go under it as it should. Once the carpet is in place, then you come with the baseboard, pine, oak, plastic ( which is one of the newest materials for baseboard ) then sinply go on top of the carpet, not worring about the high, ( thickness of the carpet ) then finish it with a nice line of caulking. Even netter if you plan to paint the walls after, but if not, just make sure you clean nice the caulking whit a wet clean rag ti leave a nice finish. make sure the caulking it's NOT silicon, as silicon it's more dificult to clean, unless you know about it; then you know you can clean silicon with a damped rag in mineral spirits, but if you are not familiar with this, don't even try, specillay with you'r new carpet in place. At least this is the best way works for my, and I have had doing it many times.
- Q:does buring carpet give off any toxic thing that i realy should be worried aobut
- Burning carpet and just about any burning material puts off deadly poisonious gases. If caught in a building they may disorient you to the point that you can not escape and you will die.
- Q:So, I m moving to an apartment that has totally outdated carpet. I want to change it, but obviously I can t being that it is an apartment I m renting. Are there any other options, other than buying a giant rug? Also, what are carpet tiles? I ve heard that they re cheaper than actual carpet, but do they require installation? Are they permanent? DIY people, help!!
- You cannot lay carpet tiles over existing carpet.
- Q:What color carpet does the yellow sofa match?
- In addition, give you some home decoration color matching, for reference only:House decoration mainly depends on the color you like. It has nothing to do with fashion. It's in popular colors, but it doesn't make sense if you don't like it. So give you some common sense of color matching, you can match your favorite colors.
- Q:What glue does the square carpet glue to the ground?
- Hook fixation. This method is in the room around the ground with strong glue installed with cards hook wood, carpet will hang on the card hook.
- Q:My carpet was just cleaned and is already dirty...it shows everything! I don't want to have to get down on my hands and knees to spot clean (the entire carpet constantly needs cleaning!) and I cant afford to pay a carpet cleaner every week. Is there like a carpet shampooing/cleaning machine you can buy for around 100 dollars or ANYTHING I can do? Thanks!
- Aside from the before mentioned don't wear shoes in the house... I sprinkle my carpets with baking soda. It not only neutralizes odor, but it does pick-up some dirt as well. I also wet the brush roller of my vacuum when I vacuum everyday...I use regular old shaving cream not gel to spot clean any serious stains and blot with a towel to dry... You can also buy Resolve foam for high traffic areas that you spray, work into carpet with a brush and vacuum... That's about all the tips I can think of....Oh yeah in the high traffic areas by doors if you can put a rug down.....
