The tiles are manufactured from high density fiberglass wool.The visible face has a decorative fiberglass tissue and the back of the tile is covered with normal tissue.The four edges of the tile are sealed and have grooves. - Could you see any pipes in he ceiling, drain pipes or hot and cold water pipes? I doubt if the pipes fixed them selves and if you start using these showers again, it will start leaking again. Most likely the pipe or pipes have calcium deposit that have temporarily sealed the leak. I would leave the ceiling open for a week and use those showers every day to see if they start leaking again. - Talk to a junkyard. Buy just the front corner parts (fender, headlight, grill), cut them and screw them to a piece of plywood. Screw the plywood to the ceiling joists. OR: make a paper-mache mold of the front corner of a car, add real headlights and part of the grill. Screw to plywood, just like the other.

- best bet is to redo it all the right way...try the fiberglass joint tape it self sticks and is ez to work with...
- Q: I live in the basement and the tiles in my drop ceiling are so annoying there the normal whatever material they are and i have dark carpeting and i guess our house sucks because I have to vacuum all the time because ill look down and there will be white specks all over the floor which im guessing is coming from the tiles from when people walk upstairs. So i want to replace them with a material that wont do that.
- Don't know about plastic, but there are plastic wrapped & melamine coated tiles which are used in hospital OR.s & labs since they are non porous & can be scrubbed. Some have gaskets along the edges which seal them to the grid to seal out dust. Probably not something from a home center but a big builder's supplier might special order them. Guessing a few bucks more than regular fiber lay in tiles. Best regards
