Q:Just got brand new carpet a couple of days ago and i have spilt dark green nail polish on light brown carpet, if my mum see's it she will go mental! how can i get rid? :): You better just fess up to your mom. Using the wrong product can damage the carpet even worse. A carpet installer can actually cur a small piece out and replace it with new.

Q:My puppy decided to chew the carpet going from my living room into my kitchen (which is laminate). Unfortunately, my attempts thus far have just made things worse. I was trying to put a transition piece in, but could not get it to stick since beneath the carpet is just concrete. My lease is up in 3 weeks and I'm getting a bit panicked. I read online that you can take a piece of carpet from a closet and use that piece to seam to ripped carpet, then grab some similar carpet from the store to replace the closet area. Any suggestions to make this process go easier? I think I just need a tack strip and some special tape that I get from lowes. Any other suggestions?: to repair your carpet, you will need a carpet knife,level or square to guide your cutting.,double sided carpet tape, tape measure, first measure out the area you need, make sure it is prepped by squaring the area off, in a corner in the closet remove a section needed for your repair job. sweep or vac the area, place your double tape down,place your carpet on top and if you have a rolling pin, roll over the carpet to make it lay down and seal to the tape. you can pick up same carpets and replace the one in the closet.

Q:I thre some milk on my carpet and i cleaned it up, now it smells horrible!!! How can I stop this?!!: If the spill is close to a wall, carefully pull the carpet back from the wall and allow the pad under the carpet to dry. With the pad exposed, you will be able to clean / deodorize the pad, which is likely the source of the odor. Keep in mind that it is easy to damage carpet when doing this, but it can be done. If this sounds like too much, rent a steamer and see if that does the trick.

Q:I had my boss come over for dinner last night and his 15 year olD pooped on my rug and it stinks how can i get the stain out: try some diaper soaker .first try iit onsome part oof the rug that can't be seen in case it takes the colour of the rug out .then use it carefully ,not too much soaker.about half a cup in a litre of water get as much of the poop off as you can before you start then gently drawing the stain to the center from each side dab on the diaper soaker. you will need to put the soaker in some warm water. when you think you have got it cleaned up get a micro cotton towel and put it over the stain and stand on it .this will soak up most of the water .you may have to repeat this to get it all out .

Q:Hi yahoo answers how water is needed for carpet cleaning...I need the clear concept...: Just regular hot tap water. Make sure that rug is sucked several times with vac to make sure carpets can dry. Make sure rooms are well vented to prevent molding and dry rot. Do not place any furniture on carpet tell it is dry. Make sure if you use a spot gard on carpet you get it all out the best you can for the chemicals can break down the carpet threads, fibers, and backing. To much soaking of carpet will cause the padding underneath to get wet and that takes forever to get dry so use caution. Go slow like directions saw, but don't soak. GL!!!

Q:I think I might have carpet beetles in my bedroom. When ever I clean up I find little brown bugs that shed their skin in my carpet and on stuffed animals that were on the ground. Are these carpet beetles? How do I get rid of them? Please help!!!! They give me they give me the creeps!!! Thanks: The vacuum is good to use to pick up the bugs and their fuzzy larvae. Vacuum a lot. Spray is not needed.

Q:spill candle wax on my carpet and wont come off...: You don't say if it's sitting on top or whether it melted the carpet? If it's still sitting on top, get some ice and after everything is really cold, use a butter knife and scrape it up. You should be able to vacuum get most of the big bits that way, then, using lots of paper towel and a warm iron, blot straight down with the iron until you see the wax melting into the paper towel. It will take a while but the wax will eventually be soaked up by the paper. If it was coloured wax it may leave some colour behind, there's a product called Winning Colours that will take up the rest of the colour. If it melted the carpet you've got bigger problems.... you may not be able to fix.

Q:The carpet in my living room is looking worn out due to heavy traffic. If I get it professionally cleaned, will it help make the carpet look newer?: it could. Sometimes its just dirt that gets trapped in it that makes it run down. Try a steam cleaner. They work great good luck :)
