Q: OK saw an episode of trading spaces a while back and they painted some carpet does anyone know anything about that or staining carpet they did it on real short carpet my carpet is pretty short it is like the carpet they put in apartments point is mine is really bad stained from room mates having pets and my mother when she lived with my having a pet that she never cleaned up after so looking for some ideas any help would be great: Oh My G-d! My sister and I was talking about the time our brother in -law painted our carpet back in 1972! We sure where laughing and wondering why our Dad let him do it in the first place! What a nightmare! Don't even think about doing it, or you'll be laughing thirty-some years from now too. It'd be better to rip the entire carpet off the floor, and just use throw rugs. Byee

Q: I'm looking for a living room rug approximately 8x10 or larger. Someone told me that I can perhaps be able to buy two pieces of carpet and have them made into a rug, it suppose to cost less than an already made rug and I can chose the colors I want. Thanks!: I just bought an 8x10 wool rug from Ikea for $90 in their as-is room. There were several I liked on the sales floor in that size for under $150. They have a pretty wide range of rugs and prices. You can also check places like Sams, Costco, Big Lots, Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and Ross.

Q: how do i keep rugs from creeping and moving? My rugs are on carpet.?: There are 2 types of mats that are used under rugs to stop them from bunching and walking. One looks like a rubber that you use for lining shelves , but don t use that stuff. The other looks like felt but isn t .. Both have a tacky feel to them but leave no residue like double sided tape will ( and leave a dirt spot when dirt collects on the residue). Both of these are of a washable material ,so when they collect dirt , and loose their tackiness you wash them and their good as new. Know your rug size , since they ll come in various sizes and you trim to size w/ scissors if needed. Get only the kind made for rugs over carpet or soft surface. Q: good loom for rugs and placemats?: I have used many different kinds, and I don't think it matters that much. It depends if it was made for rugs or not. They may not work on placemats that well. They are very different! I think it really depends a lot on the weaver, and not the weaver's tools.

Q: Is there a way to bleach my carpet?Not to get a stain out or anything.But my carpet is a bache color, and I would like to make it white.Would putting bleach on it make it brighter?: It would make it a lighter color for sure, but the shade probably won't be very consistent. Think blue jeans that have had bleach splashed on them. You also wouldn't be able to use your house until it aired out with the windows open for a few days.

Q: my carpet is tan/bash and i already tried carpet and upholstery cleaner which seems to have gotten out most of the color. however it's still a little sticky!! it's a brand new carpet and my grandma is going to kill me!!!PLEASE HELP!!: What is bash? Q: My new living arrangement will be in the basement of a house my friends and I are renting. The house is kind of older, so it's going to be kind of tricky finding good newer style furniture that won't clash with the rooms. Q: what is the best way to hang a rug?: There are many ways to go about hanging a rug. I will mention my 3 favorite ways: 1. Sew a long and narrow piece of cloth along the top of the rug (sew along the long edges, leaving a pocket that is open on both sides in order to insert a dowel that will keep the rug straight across the top) You could do this to the bottom as well in order to weigh the rug down, making it hang flat against the wall. 2. Sew double-sided velcro along the top of the rug and on the two bottom corners of the rug. Some velcro comes with an adhesive which you would paste onto the wall (or could be attached to a piece of wood that would then be mounted on the wall if the rug is too heavy). 3. Simply sew loops at even distances along the top of the rug which would then be hooked to hooks/nails/etc, attaching the rug to the wall.

Q: Can anyone suggest the best carpet cleaner ( aside from a steam cleaner...) for a light-tan-old carpet? The stains are from the previous owners; but, also, are over active puppies bladder... Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreicated... Thanks...: Potassium permanganate. It will turn everything purple, but it will oxidize the hell out of anything in or on the carpet. Those stains will be gone! But your carpet will be purple.
