- Take it to a detail-er (professional car cleaner, if he can't clean it. your going to have to replace the carpet). Buy mats if you want nice carpets, protection is better that trying to clean them later.

- I purchased a Bissell steam cleaner a few years ago. It works extremely well. I only use Resolve rug cleaner in it even though the directions say to only use Bissell products. I've used the rug doctor in the past and my cleaner works at least as well.

- Like the first person said, rent a cleaner from the grocery store(Krogers where I live rent them out)....You can also sprinkle baking soda on your carpets, let it sit for a few to pick up some odor, and then vacuum....that option is super cheap.
