- Q:So I have some speakers that are for a PC. I just got a new laptop and I want to use the speakers, which I can with 100% ease but I want it to be portable, meaning I don't want to have to plug in my speakers to a wall outlet, i would like to hook it up with a USB. Is there way I can make a USB power cord so i can power the speakers from my laptop? I have a 12V DC 0.5A wall adapter and a usb to cut in half or whatever to make this thing work, i also have a soldering kit. Is this possible? Thansk for any help and Merry Christmas ;)
- Since you give such scant information the only answer I can give you is maybe. The biggest drawback I can see is the voltage/power issue. USB specs say that you can draw 500 milliamps at 5 volts so if your speakers run at 5 volts and don't draw more than 500 mA then yes you can. If your speakers use a different voltage or have higher current requirements then no. (what is up with the 12V DC 0.5A wall adapter? You don't identify what that is ... is that what you use to power the speakers? If so, then you can't power the speakers with USB.)
- Q:Hello guyzz, recently i have bought new card powercolor radeon hd 6770 1gb gddr5 .i installed it but it required a 6 pin power cable forbut i checked in my all pc.i cant fine any 6 pin power cable.so without any cable its not working wat i do plzzz help.
- This is something you should check before you buy the video card. The card may have come with an adapter that plugs into a couple of your ide molex power connectors, and has the 6 pin connector you need on the other side. That might do it for you. Unless you don't have ide power connectors either. Or you can buy a new power supply. If your current power supply isn't big enough to support the new card you may end up buying a new power supply anyway.
- Q:Basically, I lost my power adapter to my monitor, and to be honest, I would like to try to avoid buying a new one entirely. I have an old HP laptop power cord that fits into my monitor, but the power specifications on it are different. The power rating on my monitor is 19V and 1.58A. I'm just assuming that's what it needs to run, and that you shouldn't go over that. My power supply from my old laptop converts standard AC into DC at 18.5V, which I'm assuming the difference in voltage between 19 and 18.5 won't really affect anything, but the amperage on my power supply is close to twice as high, at 3.5A output. That's where my concern is, if I where to plug this into my monitor would anything bad potentially come out of it? Don't comment saying quot;Oh, just buy a new one.quot;, I've stated I want to try and avoid that. Thanks in advance.
- nothing should happen to your device if you give it more amp's than it needs, it should just use what it needs and nothing more. why not consider buying a replacement cable on OKorder(just type monitor model #)? i've personally done something similar to charge laptops using a charger cable that gave more amp than the original and nothing happened. by nothing happened i mean the device didnt explode into flames but it still charged and worked as it was supposed to
- Q:I recently bought an asustek computer with a 350 watt PSU. Unfortunately, it did not come with a power supply cable. I have a quot;king-cord10 amp 125v 1250w cable numbered KC-003. Will this cord work to power my computer, is it too powerful, not powerful enough? I don't want to plug it in and over power it or somethig. Thanks for the help.
- yes it will work aslong as it fits
- Q:I lost the power cord and USB cable to my HDD case. The company of the case is Intex. On a sticker is says, Intex HDD Case T-350 SA.This was posted a long time ago by someone, but it's the only place I can find the photo.Serious answers only please, I'm not asking if I should get a new one. I just want to know the information on the power cord and cable.
- It's a regular USB 2 cable. No idea what sort of power it takes. Can't be a very special power though. Your best bet is to get one of those switchable supplies from Radio Shack and try the voltage one at a time until the drive works. If you go under the drive won't run, so you can't do it that way if you start low and move higher.
- Q:Hello,if you want to split your power distribution cable, how do you do so ?? I want the cable to be divided into two other smaller cables,do I use a T-joint or what ???Thx!!!
- What sort of power cable? If it is mains or an automotive power outlet, you can get splitters for those.
- Q:I bought a Zmodo CCTV system. The system came with 60' of cable,so I purchased some 165' cables.I would like to have more, but I can't find anything longer than 165' anywhere. Is that the longest size that they manke?Thank you

- Q:I'm thinking of the power cables that connect houses to the national grid in the UK. Not only do they appear to be the green colour of copper in full sunlight, but this colour isn't evenly spread. In places there is still black. What causes this, as it's presumably not exposed copper or the colour would always be apparent?
- This could simply be moss / lichen or fungus growing. the north side of the cable will have more moss on it than the south side. As the sun is over the equator and England is in the Northern Hemisphere so the sun lights the south side of the cable, and the moss grows on the darker side. This is a classic way of telling directions in a forest or paddock. Garret
- Q:here's the portion of the psu's specifications from a website:1 x 24-pin ATX Motherboard1 x 8-pin EPS12V Motherboard1 x 6-pin PCI-E4 x Serial ATA1 x 8-pin PCI-E4 x 4-pin LP4 Peripheral Device1 x 4-pin SP4 Floppy Drive... i'm getting a phenom II x4 cpu, am3 motherboard, sata hard drive, dvd drive/burner, and radeon hd 4870 which needs two 6-pin pci express connections for power... would my psu have enough cables/connections for all my components?... from what i've read, the 8-pin pci-e cable is also a 6+2 pin pci-e cable? if so, then i can use the 6-pin pci-e and the 8-pin pci-e to power up my 4870? only helpful answers pls. =]
- Your PSU should do just fine. Mother biard:24 pin and 8 pin connector HDD- SATA power Writer-SATA power G.card: ships with a 8 pin to 6 pin connector, so you are safe buddy. If its not shipped, buy one. Its dead cheap.
- Q:I am trying to run the power cable leading to the amplifier in my car but can not seem to find a hole or firewall to pass the wire through. My car is a 91 Toyota Tercel. Please and Thank you
- The Tercel will have a couple of un-used holes that are covered with black solid rubber grommets. You can poke a hole through one with a pen or screw driver and just push the wire through. You should find these holes one the left and right symmetrically, and they will be near half way down, but closer to the top than bottom. If you can't see them, maybe you can feel for them.
