Make sure that you regulaly clean the wood floors in order to prevent dust accumulation. We recommand to clean a small part
of stains as a testing ground to prevent too much chromatic aberration.
Dust and stain— use a hard brush dipped in warm soapy water to remove it.
Mildew— scrub with ordinary wood mode class agents, or bleach to rinse or wipe it directly.
Chalk stains—In addition to the while chalk, other colors can not be removed, you can use bleaching agent with hot soapy
water to wash it.
Ice or snow—Apply calcium chloride or rock salt, it can melt ice or snow, then use hot soapy water to wash it.
Stain soil and dirts— Apply detergent, which contains oxalic acid or phosphoric acid. Whiping the stain for 10-15 mins.
Greasy and oil-based stains—immediately use household cleaning products with hot soapy water to wash it.
Juice and wine stains—Mixed the bleach stain agent and hot soapy water to dilute the stain and wipe.

- Q: I have cleaned, degreased, and filled cracks in the garage floor (let cure 10 days). It has been powerwashed and swept (you could eat off of it now). I mixed the etching solution according to the directions and applied to pre moistened garage floor. The directions state that if the solution does not fizz the floor is sealed and needs further prep and that if it does fizz it will do so for 4-5 minutes. I applied the etching solution and it did fizz but for a very short time (Less than 1 min). Also, the floor does not feel very rough...in fact, I can't tell any difference from now to when there was nothing done besides cleaning. Any suggestions from someone that has used this product or has knowledge of etching would be much appreciated.

- Try looking for accoustic underlay. I dont know of any specific brand. What you want is low density underlay which would dampen the sound better. Sound travels best through higher density material so you want to give the sound waves less matter to travel through. Also if the laminate flooring is installed over timber construction flooring you should look at installing accoustic foam inbetween floor joists which would reduce the resonance. The laminate flooring is installed over high density particle board (sheet flooring) which is installed over the ceiling joists of the level below. The hollow area between ur floor and their ceiling acts like a resonance chambre of a guitar which just enhances the noise transfered through the wood. so you would want to install something to dampen the noise in that hollow part of the floor construction. - I am not sure. But I just wanted to add a little tidbit of info...your stand's legs are very important here. If they are narrow, then that will be a lot of pressure on four small points. - NEVER use mop and glow!! it is terrible!!.....first sweep, and clean the floor very well....let dry, then rinse the floor with a bucket of water with vinegar, this will neutralize any soap residue...let dry...go to your local hardware store, or walmart and buy floor wax (ask for help if you need it) then, use a clean mop.....wet the mop with plain water and wring it out ....pour small amounts of wax onto the floor and evenly spread it around with the mop (do not re-dunk your mop) do the entire floor....you may need to repeat a second time.....make sure it is COMPLETLY dry before you walk on it.....regular maintenance after waxing is easy too.....just sweep and mop with vinegar water....do not use ammonia based cleaners!! good luck!!
- Q: I am looking to replace the flooring in my bathrooms
- It depends on what kind of flooring you want to install, and what is already on the floor. If you are going to install a sheet vinyl, and there is more than one layer of existing flooring you will have to remove the old flooring. Then you will probably have to install 1/4 luan or plywood underlay first. Then you will have a nice smooth surface for the new floor. If there is only one layer of existing flooring and it is smooth and tight you should be able to install the new vinyl right over it. Some vinyls have to be glued fully, and then there are others that are only perimeter glue. You should remove the stool, install the new floor, a new seal under the stool and replace it.
- Q: How do you remove old vinyl flooring which is stuck to the floor? Not sure what it is but I believe it's some kind of glue. Thanks!
- From a Ret. flooring installer If you want to install another floor, you dont need to remove it, you can simply go over it, but first lets talk prep work: A) Go to Home Depot, go into flooring section in back and find a large bag of Henry's flooring patch material. B) Take A small bucket and put about 1 cup of water to start with, and pour some patch in it, start mixing, you want the consistency of peanut butter, keep mixing up more but not too much water at first. C) Get a flat trowel, what you want to do is only skim the patch over the floor, no puddles, hold trowel at 90 degree angle slighly when doing this with the patch, after drying, scrape good with clean trowel to remove any humps or bumps You can now install any type floor over that, make sure it is smooth., and all crevices are filled in.
- Q: We have just bought a house with tile floors. They are 12x12 tiles and are very textured, (groves all over them, that a can get clean). Does anyone one have any ways of cleaning them. I was using bleach water, but I am pregnant and smelling bleach has already sent me to the hospital once. - The best thing for tiled floors is a good mop and boiling hot water. The tiles will dry very quick & leave no streaks. Then you can add a small amout of any floor cleaner and do the same again. as as you have just moved in , sure it might take a few washes to get them how you won?t them. I have ceramic and marble tiles all over my house. I normally just use boiling water and no detergents. Bleach will only fade the color of the tiles. Congratulations & good luck , hope all goes well.
