Q: So ground wire, start anywhere i suppose?Where does ground wire hook up too?why you need to ground out your system?Only need 1 ground wire?
Ground wires complete the circuit and need to be connected to metal on the cars chassis. keep the connections as short as possible. Clean all the paint off the area , use a wire brush ect to remove all paint to bare metal you can use existing bolts/ screws or install your own , use the same gauge ground wire as you use for the power wire
Q: My tail light work but when i hit the breaks everything go out. Any answers? Standard 4 wire
probably not a good enough ground connection make sure it is wired correctly white wire is the ground yellow wire is the left blinker and brake light green wire is right blinker and brake light brown wire is tail lights
Q: DO i TWIST THE WHITE AND RED SMALL WIRES TOGETHER UNDER THE WIRE NUTS ON AC WIRING TO THE CONDENSER?
The wires you describe control the relay that starts the AC unit. The main power wires are heavy duty (black and red if this is a 220 volt unit). The light guage wires are low voltage AC and connect to the thermostat. DO NOT joint the red and white wires. There will be a terminal for the red wire. You will have to find out which one it is. Try to get the wiring diagram for your unit from the Internet or call a service professional.
Q: I have a bathroom exhaust fan with a light and heater function. The Heater has a red and white wire and the fan and lights have a black, a blue and two whites. There is a three switch outlet on the wall in the bathroom controlling these functions. In the attic there are 3 different wires going to the exhaust fan that I can't find out how to connect. There are 3 blacks, 3 whites and 3 grounds. How should I hook the switch to the exhaust fan wires? Please help
Blue, black, and red are all hot wires. Just attach each hot wire and its corresponding white wire to each switches black hot wire and white wire. When finished each switch will turn on the heater, light, or fan.
Q: its an older boat without fuse box, if you go to the manual on the website it gives you the wire layout. I know the radio works but a friend of mine disconnected the wires to try to put a switch in and never reconnected them. I don't know what to do with the ground wire or the red wire. Any suggestions?
the ground wire black is connected to -ve of battery the red wire is connected to ignition wire so when you turn on the keys the radio starts the yellow wire is connected to +ve of battery, but radio will not switch on till red is connected. good luck
Q: I'm wiring up a kenwood sub and amp. Everything is connected except for a quot;power control wirequot;. Not sure what this does or where I should connect it to. Any help?
For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/awoXJ IF your car had a power antenna, then you should be OK. IF it does NOT then I would question where the wire is going before adding another wire. The problem is that the remote turn on or power antenna turn on lead coming out of the head unit cannot handle much current draw. Hooking too many things to it without using a relay can burn out the circuit inside of the head unit.
Q: I am trying to take 4 lights in the basement that currently all have to be turned on independently and wire them all in series to a single switch. I just took the wires and put them to the switch and then to the first light. it came on but when i held the silver metal shielding piece that houses the wires, I got a tingle. I think that would mean I need to connect the third wire. The grounding one. The light did come on which I think means I had the pos and neg connected right. Where do I connect the ground wire and what caused the tingle? by ground wire I mean the third wire that is nothing but copper. I think I just put it to the case or the light or whatever looks like a good spot to get grounded. any extra knowledge or advice is a big help! In the mean time I will be searching the web for how to's.
The guy above me helpful, but you have an existing problem with the wires shocking you. No doubt you can run the series yourself, but don't monkey around and burn your house down by trying to save the cash on this DIY. Get someone to find the short and fix it. DIY the next job. BTW purchase the Black and Decker Advanced Home Wiring book. It has color pics and shows you the layouts of several ways to do stuff. By the way, if your name is Bob Villa my wife is looking for you to marry her. LOL.
Q: Electron flow in a conducting wire.?I have some confusion regarding the flow of electrons in a wire when voltage is applied across it. Intuitively, i see that when i apply voltage across the ends of the wire say by a battery. The voltage pushes the electrons in the wire. As, a result the electrons flow in straight direction rather than going zig-zag. Some of the electrons reach the positive terminal of the battery, now my query is what happens when the electrons reach the positive terminal.Do they loose all their energy? Also, how is there a constant flow of electrons in the wire because since electrons are flowing constantly from the negative to the positive, is there no instance all the free electrons in the wire have reached the positive terminal? Basically what i mean to say is do the free electrons ever gets extinct? I am sorry if my question sounds stupid but can anyone please explain me a little bit in a conceptual manner?
The pace of the electron is variable relying upon the the style of energy you are dealing with. In our case, electrons waft within the conductor, though it's sluggish, it is only like ping-pong balls(Analogous to electrons) inside of a say, plastic pipe slanted down ward. When you provide a bit little bit of strain( i.E. Electrical Voltage or emf in our case) one pushes the other and the other one to the subsequent one so on momentarily (Which is very rapid action). This is how you to find the light turned on immediately once you turn the swap On. I feel is the brief answer for the query. Thank you.
Q: Im wiring my pioneer deh x3600ui to my pontiac grand am gt 2002 directly without a factory harness. Any diagrams out there i can use? The red wire on my pioneer is for the ignition but i cant find that wire on the pontiac.
if u cant find a diagram u can always check the speakers for the colors of the wires and then just try to get a hold a cheap little voltage meter like the one below just to find ur ground, remote, and battery wire.
Q: Why do some vehicles have more than one starter wire at the ignition switch?
one for the solenoid and a second for the distributor. the one for the solenoid is only active in the crank position where as the other is any time the key is in the run position or crank.
