Q:i need to know how to rewire it to make it fire the only wire that is still there is the one that runs to the distributor cap all the other wires are gone is it sopose to wire to the key please help
The GM 250 i6 is a very simplistic engine. To wire to ignition: 1. Switch on the ignition find the + out wire 2. Run a wire to the positive side of the coil. 3. The negative side goes to the distributor. 4. The starter solenoid has two large terminal two small terminals. The small inside [closest to the block] is the start wire. On the opposite post place another wire also route it to the positive side of the coil. This provides power to the coil when the engine is cranking. Good luck + + +
Q:A 5.07 m length of 2.1 mm diameter wire carries 703 mA current when 22.3 mV is applied to its ends. Determine the resistivity of the wire.
Resistance of a wire in Ω R = ρL/A ρ is resistivity of the material in Ω-m L is length in meters A is cross-sectional area in m? A = πr?, r is radius of wire in m Use current and voltage to determine resistance. Plug that into the above and solve for ρ. Be sure to change numbers into meters.
Q:There are 3 wires where the old floodlight used to be and only 2 wires attached to the floodlight I want to install. How can I tell which wires connect to which... and what is the third wire?
Usually there is a black wire (hot), a white wire (neutral), and a green or bare wire (ground)... in an ideal world:) If you need to find the hot wire, you can get a non contact voltage finder from lowes or the hardware store. This device will tell you where the AC voltage source is coming from without you even touching the wire. You will need to remove the old light and wire nut the wires. Then turn the electricity back on, use the detector to find out which wire is hot. Connect the black wire on the lamp to the hot wire.
Q:What's the factors affecting resistance of a wire? and why? thank you!
i) Cross-sectional area of the wire. Reistance is inversely proportional to the area of cross-section of the wire. More the cross-sectional area, easier it is for the electrons and hence charge to flow and hence more current and less resistance. ii) Length of the wire. Resistance is directly proportional to the length of the wire. More the length of the wire, longer is the distance to be covered by the electrons and hence charge thereby reducing current and increasing resistance. iii) Temperature. Higher temperature results in higher resistance. Higher the temperature, faster will be the oscillations of the ions in the conductor and the moving electrons will have to undergo more number of collisions per unit length of the wire, thereby reducing time between successive collisions and reducing drift velocity of the electrons which results in less current and higher resistance iv) Material of the conductor Some materials like metals are better conductors of electricity and offer less resistance to the flow of current. Non-metals have poor conductivity. Conductivity of charge in metals is mainly due to the free electrons in the outer orbits of metals.
Q:I have a 1983glastron cvx-16 and need to wire the lights, tach horn fuel guage there are 2 wires coming off the fuel guage one pink from the center and the other looks to be comming off of a bracket not conacted to the tanks fuel guage
Hi mate, generally for your guages you will need a + and a - for the lights in them to work and the guage (im guessing is electronic) will have one left for the sender wire to hook up to. at the other end the + is to be connected to your sender and a - to the nearest ground or metalic or run back to your - on your batt. most of them will work in the same way and volts is the easiest. sorry no schematics but generally if you wire it backwards it will work backwards. ive never hurt 1. hope this helps
Q:How can I stop my cat from chewing wires? He does it all the time, and the wire he ends up being important.
Kittens in particular are very curious and play with everything that comes in their way. Remember that they are inexperienced like toddlers and try everything at least once. Make your home as kitten-proof as possible. Problem Keep an eye on kittens when they are young and very inquisitive. Dangling cords are particular attracting to them and dangerous if chewed through. Electric shock can be the result. Solution ? Put something distasteful on the cord to discourage chewing ? Tabasco sauce, cayenne pepper, bitter apple/orange, orange/lemon peel, commercial repellents ? Gaffer’s tape (available in diy stores) will probably work if the substances don't ? Secure exposed cords ? Consider permanent wiring if you own your place
Q:I just bought an exhaust tip with leds which needs to be wired up to the brake lights on my mazda 626. Can somebody tell me which colour wire it is (positive) on the wiring to the brake light? There are a few wires and I dont know which one it is! Thanx
How do you wire this up? You dont !! Beautifying your car is good to do but I have seen these LED tips and they look terrible. If you want your car to look like a cheap honda civic thats been dressed up, then go ahead and do this. if you still want to do this, use a multimeter across the two cables. run one lead to each wire. If you get a positive voltage when someone else presses the brake then the positive lead you have connected will be the side that is positive. If your voltage is negative, then the wire NOT connected to the positive lead is the positive
Q:I have a wire coming from the car battery positive terminal. It is 12v DC. I want to split this wire to two other wires. I cannot connect another wire to the positive terminal. Will splitting this wire cause the voltage to drop to 6v each wire? or will they pull a constant 12v each?
Splitting would not reduce the voltage, but you have to check the load and make sure that wires are adequate to handle the currents involved.
Q:How is the line differ from a neutral and ground wires in a three prong plug?
In your standard outlet, (NEMA 1-15 or 5-20 receptalce/plug): The 'Line' is the smaller slot/prog The 'Neutral' is the large slot/prong The ground is the 'pin'/prong.
Q:I'm cutting 18 gauge wire, so I can run valve wires to the timer in the garage. The plastic casing over the wire is pretty thick, so I had to squeeze hard. I accidentally cut into the color casing of the actual wire inside, so I want to start over. How can I cut this wire away, and start again?
Use a utility knife and cut around the casing then strip it off. Or run out to Home Depot and get yourself a wire cutter stripper tool.
