Q: im assuming red to red and black to black? but then what about the extra green and white wires in the iphone cable? where do they go?: Those are the USB wires. For a charger, they need connected through voltage setting resistors.

Q: I just read an article about a man who was electrocuted by a live overhead wire while trimming a tree. Horrible. My question is I see squirrels running on all the overhead wires. How do they not get electrocuted?: You have to have a complete circuit. A man trimming trees may touch two wires at the same time or may touch one and the other wire is grounded causing the ground to act as the second wire. You cannot get electrocuted by touching just one wire. Technically, since one wire is grounded and we are on the ground we are touching one wire continuously. Also the squirl may be on a low voltage telephone wire or an insulated wire. If it's a bare wire and he doesn't jump onto the wire but rather reaches out from a tree and touches both at the same time he'll get shocked too.

I just took the wires and put them to the switch and then to the first light. it came on but when i held the silver metal shielding piece that houses the wires, I got a tingle. In the mean time I will be searching the web for how to's.: You have your hot wire insulation striped and touching the Greenfield (the metal covering). You need to find the striped area and tape it. Or Buy some Romex wiring 14/2 with ground and replace all the Greenfield in this circuit. You can run the wires from light to light to light. Attach the black wire to the black wire (hot), white to white (neutral or common), bare copper wire (ground) to bare copper wire. Attach black wire to switch, White wire to white in switch box, bare copper to green wire (ground).

Outlets, light switches. ect.
