Q: I have hard woods floors in my new home, I'd rather not spend a lot of money on buying carpet and getting it installed. Q: My 2 year old female has taken up the habit of scratching and soiling rugs in our bathroom. We wash or replace the rug, but she keeps doing it! We also clean out the litterbox everyday, and wash it once a week. She also has multiple scratching posts, toys, etc. She eats only hard food and has clean water on a daily basis. We also have 1 other male cat who is 3. Please help! NO STUPID ANSWERS!: The rugs may have 'litterbox smell on them now. Try using an enzymatic cleaner on them. You can find the cleaner at the pet store. The other option is to not put down the rugs for a bit until kitty gets used to the box again and forgets about the rugs....

Q: I'll need to get about 1200 sq. ft. of carpet. I'm not planning on getting the cheapest, but close to it. How much will the carpet cost? installation?: Through Home Depo I got mixed rating carpet for 1200 sq ft. In my office and bedroom i got non matting, heavy traffic, about $2.50 q ft. In my guest room and rental room i got a lower grade but with scotch guard for about 1.50 q ft. With installation it was roughly $2000.00. I would call around, sometimes companies have discounts or sales, half off.

Q: I had my boss come over for dinner last night and his 15 year olD pooped on my rug and it stinks how can i get the stain out: try some diaper soaker .first try iit onsome part oof the rug that can't be seen in case it takes the colour of the rug out .then use it carefully ,not too much soaker.about half a cup in a litre of water get as much of the poop off as you can before you start then gently drawing the stain to the center from each side dab on the diaper soaker. you will need to put the soaker in some warm water. when you think you have got it cleaned up get a micro cotton towel and put it over the stain and stand on it .this will soak up most of the water .you may have to repeat this to get it all out .

Q: I have a new beige carpet that is about 1 year old. I have some stains from a dog. I used Woolite Heavy Traffic and vacuum but it really did not work. The carpet looks darker than the rest of the carpet. What can I use to make the carpet clean again?: In spite of two dogs, I kept cream and beige carpets looking good for years using Zoflora disinfectant diluted in warm water. You have to get down on hands and knees and rub it in sparingly in circles with a cloth and then not walk on the carpet until it dries. It comes in pleasant flower fragrances and is very cheap.

Q: what is the best product for removing pet smell from the carpet in home? thanks: Replace the carpet. Nothing will ever get all the odor or urine out. It's soaked through to the pad and possibly the concrete under that. You might think about painting a sealant on the concrete after you take up the ruined carpet and pad. Before putting down new carpet. That odor can seep back up from the concrete (or wood) subfloor for years to come. Every time it rains or is damp outside, you very likely will smell it again. Better yet, put down wood laminate or something instead of more carpet.

Q: Also... what would be cheaper? Carpet, carpet tile, or laminate?I ask because these stupid companies (Lowes, Home Depot, etc) keep making it seem like there's a difference between carpet and carpet tile and it seems like carpet tile is cheaper.Why would it be cheaper? It actually seems like it would cost less than laminate but I have absolutely no idea why or what to look for.I'm looking for new flooring for my living room.: it is easier for a non experienced person to install. I prefer wall to wall over tile.
