Q: It is a rally sport with the 3.8 v6 series 2
sure okorder /
Q: i have a 1994 toyota pick-up with the 3.0 engine 4wd. the main bearings went out and i called to see how much they would cost and the guy asked me what kind they were. and i had no idea. anyideas?
If the crank has been previously turned, undersize bearings often has a designation on the back side of the shell, 20 being .020 undersize. If the bearings are in really bad shape, the crank may have been damaged and you'll either need to get it turned or see about getting one already reconditioned from an auto parts store. And like chris said, usually standard and undersize are all the same price. When you were asked what kind, were you clear that you needed main bearings or was he asking if you were talking about main or rod bearings?
Q: Took my car to a local shop today b/c I thought I heard a funny noise. Mechanic said my exhaust bearings were bad... He said I needed 2 new ones and they were 150 each plus labor. Estimate of $500 for everything. Anyone know where I can get them cheaper? Or are they always this much? Thanks
You can get them at any auto parts store, or even Wal-mart. They should be on the shelf next to the blinker fluid. There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as exhaust bearings!!! There is no such thing as blinker fluid either! Get a new mechanic!
Q: Needle roller bearing is also called cam bearing?
Needle roller bearings are needle roller bearings
Q: Recently started getting alot of noise coming from the front of our truck. The sound is like a high pit ch noise the gets louder as the truck picks up speed. I would best describe it as a high pitch or like the sound of really big 4x4 tires as they drive by you on the freeway. I did the standard wheel bearing check. Jacked up the truck and pushed and pulled on the wheel. I get no shake or looseness. I can say that the passenger front doesn't roll as smooth as the driver front. I pulled the hub off and did a close visual and i can see nothing wrong. No leaking, scaring, or looseness. Just the lack of rolling smoothness like the other side. Could this be a bad bearing?
More likely the brake is tighter on that side. If you can , back it off a notch or two and see if that helps. However, at 7 years old it would be a good idea to clean and repack the bearings, or even replace them, the races and seals.
Q: how do i change my swingarm bearings on my 2004 rm 125?
Dechart2 is correct as far as removing the old bearings but you can build an installer for about $10.00.get a piece of threaded drill rod ,1/2fine thread, with nuts and large thick washers.Line the bushing up in the swingarm and use the threaded rod to install then.I have about 6 different lengths like this and have used this method to install bearings in more things than I care to mention.
Q: I have a sector 9 Cosmic 2 board and one of the bearings messed up. i need to buy spare bearings. i can't find longboard bearings while skateboard bearings r easy to find. r they the same? and whats a good place to buy beartings
yes they use the same type of bearings and you can find them from your local skate shop or you can try fixing the broken bearing by cleaning it. what i do i put wd-40 and let it run through so all the dirt comes out and they once all the dirt is out you spin the bearing until the wd-40 drys out and then you put speed cream in it. but if you buy new bearings get bones reds.
Q: Do rear wheel drive cars have rear wheel bearings?
Of course. You need the wheels to spin don't you?
Q: What are skateboarding bearings?
first, try posting in the proper category (this is Cycling) second, most wheels have some type of bearings to act as the glide point between the hub or axle and the wheel itself
Q: I heard using mineral spirits is a good way to clean bearings, but I also heard some can end up damaging them
Gasoline works good but be careful and rubber gloves might be a good idea.
