Q: I'm gonna buy a FKD Sawblade ABEC 7 bearings sometime and I'm just curious.: Pretty much nothing. It is a measure of precision for high speed machinery where vibrating shafts are a problem. Way higher speeds than wheels on skate boards or inline skates. In some cases, higer abec ratings can cause extra drag in the bearings because of the smaller gaps inside the bearing. Some companies (Zero Drag, Bones, Twin Cam) have designed their best bearings to have lower drag by not meeting even the ABEC 1 standard but with the tolerances close in the areas needed to make them run true in your wheels.

Q: Road bike. Mostly used on roads but occasionally used on loose rock roads.: You can go a very long time without touching the bearings. If you have sealed bearings they will last years. I remove the wheel and turn the axle with my fingers. If they feel rough its time to clean and repack. Sealed bearings last longer you just replace them.

Q: i need bearings for my longboard that are fast smooth and roll longer so chek out this link and let me know wat ya think: these are some crappy brand fake bearings. what you need is Lucky Swiss or Bones Swiss those are the best bearings out there look for those on OKorder and see how much better they are

Q: Is it important to replace the rear wheel bearings both at the same time (both left and right)? Or is that only done because of convenience (to save the trouble of replacing the other one in the near future)?: It's unnecessary to change/replace rear wheel bearings both at the same time. You can only change the faulty side.

Q: My two front wheels on my skateboard randomly lock up. You know how you're suppose to leave a little wiggle room when you tighten the nut? Well after a few minutes of skating the wiggle room is gone and it's like I tightened down my bolt all the way. There's nothing wrong with my nut and my bearings are bones swiss and my wheels are bones stf 54mm. This is so strange. I've even rotated the wheels and bearings out from back to front and once again it's my front two wheels. It's beyond me. Please help!: If you aren't using speed ring, use them. Replace axle nuts. Could be bearing migration from excess bearing lube. Remove bearings and wipe outer race with denatured alcohol. Wash the wheels with dish soap and water. Make sure to wash the bearing seats. Dry before placing the bearings back in. If it happens only on one side but not the other, it's axle slip. Send trucks back to manufacturer.

Q: I went to a Kal-tire and the service technician told me I needed new front wheel bearings. I asked him to do the part look up and told me it was a sealed assembly part with the hub and it would cost 714 dollars for both Hubs. Does this seem valid? Q: I have a 2001 BMW 325i. I believe that we need to change the wheel bearing (passenger rear). You can check my other questions in case the diagnosis is incorrect...(help??)Does anyone have any diagrams, instructions on how to change them? Is it necessary to have them pressed on/off? (that would determine if I could do this at home or not.Please help, this is my sons car and he is in the military and doesn't have time or cash to spend on it. So mom dad are trying to help them out. Any advice or websites will be appreciated.Thanks, stormphyre: The rear knuckle will have to come off, and be taken into a shop that can replace the bearing. That is provided it is the outer bearing. The problem is more likely the axle. CV joints fail more often then the bearings.

Q: Difference between rubbing bearings and roller element bearings?: With roller bearings there are small rollers between the moving and non-moving part so that there would theoretically be no friction. Ball bearings work in a similar way.
