- Q:the coil is wrapped around the aluminium pipe will it effect the efficiency of the coil gun ?
- Hopefully yes.
- Q:For a high school Chemistry course I made soap for a project. Before doing this, thank god, i learned that one should never use an aluminum container to mix the lye (NaOH) and water. Now, I need to know why. I know it eats away at the container but i can't figure out why. It goes against everything I've learned so far. At first i thought it was because Aluminum was, for some strange reason :o, more reactive than Sodium therefore replacing it in the reaction but that turned out not to be true. Does anyone have an idea of why? Thanks

- Q:What kind of aluminum sheet can be bent with five millimeters?
- The aluminum plate can be bent five milimeter too much, if only bending words and aluminum quality has little relationship.First of all, the state is the most important, the state is divided into hard, semi hard, soft (usually soft called O state)The bending effect of the whole hard is not too far (the aluminum plate is H18, H19, H38 and so on are all hard)Semi hard aluminum sheets can basically be bent (H24, that is, semi hard)O bending is certainly not a problem, but because of too soft, basically with this state to bend lessSecond, you have to choose pure aluminum or alloy aluminum?Pure aluminum hardness is not very good, with 1100, 1050, 1060 and so on can be recommended 1100 H26Alloy aluminum hardness is better, can use 3003, 3005, 5052 and other semi hard state can be.Specific recommendations were then determined by 6061, 2024, 7075 if the hardness is too high, especially for the T6 state is more, should not bend, unless you're heating and folding the difference between aluminum and aluminum is poor oxidation resistance, tolerance, surface effect, crystal accuracy and the uniform stability of a difference, not only the bending effect difference. If the aluminum surface paint it quality do not too good, good is a waste, it is recommended to use 3003-H26, 3005H24 or 5052H34, the price of twenty pieces of it, made up to more than forty yuan per kilogram
- Q:What are the different forming techniques for aluminum sheets?
- Aluminum sheets can be shaped using several different forming techniques. One technique commonly used is bending, where force is applied to the sheet to achieve the desired shape. This can be done manually with a press brake or through automated processes like roll forming or stretch forming. Another technique, called deep drawing, involves using a die and punch to stretch the aluminum sheet into a three-dimensional shape. This method is often employed to create cylindrical or box-shaped components such as cans or containers. Hydroforming is another option for shaping aluminum sheets. It utilizes hydraulic pressure to mold the sheet against a form or mold. This technique is particularly useful for creating complex and irregular shapes that would be challenging to achieve with other methods. For creating symmetrical shapes like bowls or cones, spinning is a commonly used technique. It entails rotating the aluminum sheet against a mandrel while applying pressure to shape it into the desired form. Lastly, there is a technique known as stamping, which involves pressing the aluminum sheet against a die to create a specific shape. This technique is frequently employed in high-volume production of components such as automotive body panels. In conclusion, these forming techniques provide a wide range of options for shaping aluminum sheets into various forms and designs. This allows for flexibility and versatility in manufacturing processes.
- Q:why does aluminum sheet not react with sulfuric acid nut react with hydrochloric acid?
- aluminum reacts with hydrochloric acid, generating aluminium chloride which can dissolve in water. but aluminum reacts with sulfuric acid, generating aluminum sulfate which can't dissolve in water and will generate aluminum sulfate, a layer of protective film, preventing aluminum from reacting with sulfuric acid, so there is no significant phenomena.
- Q:What does 3003-O aluminum mean?
- H-- strain hardening statusO-- annealed state (the softest of all States)T-- heat treatment status
- Q:How does the grain structure of aluminum sheet affect its properties?
- The grain structure of aluminum sheet plays a significant role in determining its properties. The grain structure refers to the arrangement of individual aluminum crystals, also known as grains, within the sheet. The size, shape, and orientation of these grains can influence various mechanical and physical properties of the aluminum sheet. For instance, the grain structure affects the sheet's strength, ductility, hardness, and even its corrosion resistance. In terms of strength, a fine-grained aluminum sheet tends to have higher strength than a coarse-grained one. This is because the presence of smaller grains allows for more grain boundaries, which act as obstacles to dislocation movement and enhance the material's resistance to deformation. On the other hand, a coarse-grained structure has fewer grain boundaries, leading to reduced strength. Furthermore, the grain structure affects the sheet's ductility, which refers to its ability to deform without fracturing. Aluminum sheets with finer grains typically exhibit better ductility as the numerous grain boundaries hinder dislocation motion and prevent crack propagation. In contrast, coarser grains tend to promote crack propagation, resulting in reduced ductility. The hardness of aluminum sheet is also influenced by its grain structure. Generally, a fine-grained structure contributes to higher hardness due to increased dislocation density and grain boundary strengthening. Conversely, a coarse-grained structure leads to reduced hardness as there are fewer obstacles to dislocation motion. Moreover, the grain structure affects the sheet's corrosion resistance. Fine-grained aluminum sheets tend to have improved corrosion resistance compared to coarse-grained ones. This is because the presence of more grain boundaries in fine-grained structures impedes the movement of corrosive agents, thus reducing the likelihood of corrosion. In summary, the grain structure of aluminum sheet significantly impacts its properties. Fine-grained structures generally enhance strength, ductility, hardness, and corrosion resistance, while coarse-grained structures tend to have the opposite effects. Therefore, controlling and optimizing the grain structure during the manufacturing process is crucial in achieving the desired properties of aluminum sheet for various applications.
