FAQ:
Q1: Are electronics cheap in Okorder.com?
A: Of course. They are very cheap. The factories provide the goods. One-stop sourcing.
Q2: Why are electronics so cheap in ok order?
A: On ok order they are the lowest price. Because it is a wholesale website and factory provide goods.
Q3: Do all electronics have silicon in them?
A: No but most modern ones do. Older electronics that don't require micro chips don't have to have silicon at all, and their mother boards are made from copper. Silicon is used in micro chips as a semi-conductor in modern electronics but some other semi-metals, like gallium and germanium can also be used. Silicon is just the most common because it is so plentiful.

Q: I volunteer for an organization that provides free service. The organization keeps track of those who enter and use our services. When they enter they have to sign so we can keep a head count on all those that use our service. I am seeking a way where they can enter swipe there ID (drivers license, military id, DOD id etc.) It must be a method that only the name is retrieved and at most in connection to military their unit. no other information is needed. It needs to be able to be databased to retrieve later. What I am looking for is what simple hardware will I need. For example will a CAC reader work for multiple ID types. Also is there a free software that I can use with the ID reader to maintain the database. I am just looking for something simple to keep head count so not looking for something that cost much. It is strictly for a volunteer serves to help improve our service to those that use it. any links to free software and any hardware that may be needed would be great.
There are all kinds of solutions for your situation. The hardware ranges from less than $20.00 for a simple USB scanner, to over $500.00 for a mountable, slide-in, network ready scanner. Some of the hardware comes bundled with software. It really depends on what your needs and budget are. At a minimum, you will need to get a reader that can read the PDF417 barcode. If you get a smart-card reader, make sure it also reads PDF417 barcodes.
Q: I have this Lexar MicroSD card adapter, and I used to be able to plug it into my Vantec 5 in 1 card reader, and it would pop up on the screen, now when I put it in, I don't hear a boo-boom! like I'm supposed to, and when I go into My Computer, nothing's there. It's not detected anymore. I read other questions and they say you need new drivers. I tried googling Vantec 5 in 1 card reader drivers and no websites with these drivers came up. I don't even think I need any. My MicroSD card that is in the adapter is unknown Maybe kingston. I got it with my R4 for my Nintendo DS, there is no logo on the card and this SD card was a free promotion type thing. 'buy R4 now and get a free 1gb SD card'. So can you help me please?
Card readers usualy have the drivers built in i would try a different usb port if your are trying to use it in the front port it may not be getting enough power or the front port are damaged try using the back ports if it still doesn't work try it on a different computer if you think you do need drivers right click my computer then go to properties then the hardware tab then device manager if you see your card reader with a yellow attention symbol next to it it may need drivers or it has some other issues but it will tell you which additionally make sure its in sp3. if not run windows update. i dont know how many driver problems i have solved for people by doing that
Q: How Can You Transfer Files To The SD Card to The DSi Without An SD Card Reader.
You need a device that can read SD cards and that you can connect to your PC. For example if you have a digital camera that uses SD cards, you could insert the SD card into the camera and connect it to your computer using a USB cable. Then you should be able to transfer your files to the camera (actually to the SD card).
Q: Hi guys. Please tell me the answer
A card reader is NOT a input device. Input device: keyboard, mouse, joystick, mic A card reader WITHOUT a memory card is NOT an electronic data storage equipment but in computer stores could be classified as storage equipment. Make sense to sell a card reader in the same store section/shelf where you have flash memory card. A card reader is just a device which is able to read a memory card and to transfer data files from the memory card to your computer. Note: being a card reder is able to READ ONLY so you NOT gonna be able write data files on that memory card.
Q: Does this mean you cant save games?
It doesn't have a built in card slot to read memory sticks but you can buy a 6 in 1 card reader that will plug into the USB port and it will do the same thing so the 40GB version is better value for money as all it has is extra memory.
Q: I just bought a memory card reader and loaded it into the USB port.I cant get the darn thing to show any pictures.any suggestions? Am I not opening a file that should be? No instructions were given at all.It is an Ativa brand.
You didn't mention what kind of machine or OS you're using. Usually 1. Put memory card into reader 2. Plug reader into USB 3. Start Computer Memory Card Reader (Ex: May be something like Drive (G:) etc.) 4. Open the picture file you want to view or import all the files to your computer into a folder for viewing there. Hope this helps.
Q: Hi, I am interested in buying a smart card reader for the PC. Smart card as in the chips used by stuff like cell phones. Wikipedia article on smart cards shows a bunch of different chip variations. All differ in the pin layout. Does a smart card reader read all of the layouts? Or do you have to get a specific one?
Whoa there. You may have just mixed 2 technologies. You want to read a SIM card or a Smart(SD) card? If it's the latter then typically card readers give you the ability to read all formats. My mini-SD came with adapters to standard SD which is in almost every card reader. For you I would say find out what kind of card you want to use(probably mini-SD) and make sure the card reader you're purchasing reads it.
Q: I tried checking to see if my memory card readers are broken, but none. I used different types of pro duo cards, but after awhile it pops up error. I use to have it working fine. Does this mean i need to buy new memory cards? I have tried SONY and SANDISK and they all turn out the same. Gets me very frustrated.
you're able to positioned the memory card right into a nicely matched ADAPTER. then you definately insert the adapter having the cardboard already interior the adapter into the attainable slot. the computing device will study the cardboard therein. rejoice with your computing device.
Q: I know shouldn't force a memory card into a card reader. Do they come in sizes or what? How do you know what size to buy? I have an 8gb memory card and my card reader says SD/MMC/RS-MMC 2.0. The memory card doesn't just slide in with no resistance, but I don't have to really force it in. Is that the way it is supposed to be?
You can buy card specific readers - that's what I've done. I have three digital cameras each with its own reader because of different styles of cards. Or you can opt for the style of reader that takes different styles. I've found those don't always work as well, at least not for me, so I went with the card specific kind your choice. All the newer SD, if that's what you're using, will take SDHC cards.
Q: I just uploaded a lot of pictures to my camera, but only half are showing up. The rest are still on my memory card becasue i can view them on my camera, but they will not show up when i put the card into my computer. I shot all the pics in camera RAW, but only some are showing up. DOes anyone know how I can get teh rest on my computer?? also, now when i put the memory card in my computer, it's not reading it as in i can't open it, but i shot all the pics on the same setting at the same time. any help? thank-you!
You may want to try an external reader. They're available where ever cameras are sold for little $$. Windows will see a reader as a drive you simply copy / paste. I had that problem with my lap top. It just quit reading my cards. I was using external readers for a long time before I got my lap top but I decided to try it. It worked twice.
