Q: I have an asus eee pc 1005 series can i save files to an sd memory card by sticking it in the sd mem card reader on my pc it being called reader leads me to believe it only reads not saves to sd memory cards i am not familiar with sd cards: If it says reader not reader/writer then you can't save to it. Although you can just put the card in and try to write to it, it won't hurt

Q: Hello :) So I'm trying to upload pictures to my computer from my SD memory card but nothing popped up when I plugged my memory card reader in, so I went into My Computer and nothing showed up there! When I clicked on Removable Disk (F:), it said to insert a disk into drive F:. It makes the noises and everything when I plug my USB into the computer but it must not read it or something. This has never happened before and I even made sure that both ends were plugged in and I blew in the memory card reader too. Also, the memory card in NOT on lock. And i can't plug my camera in directly into my computer because i don't have a cord that fits it. Thanks for your help! :): already try to plug it in the other usb slot ? what about the red light on the memory card reader? turns red or not? if its not, it means the memory card reader is broken now, but if it still turns on, i think there's a problem with the memory card cable or virus on your sd card. i hope its not a virus coz you will have to format it and lose all the data. o(^_^)o

If it's the latter then typically card readers give you the ability to read all formats. My mini-SD came with adapters to standard SD which is in almost every card reader. For you I would say find out what kind of card you want to use(probably mini-SD) and make sure the card reader you're purchasing reads it.

Using Explorer or My Computer, all you have to do is log on to that drive. Explorer will open it and show the files. You can then view them right on the card reader drive or move them to, say, my pictures or what ever folder you want to put them in. Point of general information: I recommend that everyone put a short cut to Explorer on their desk top. It makes file searching and maneuvering a lot easier. Just right click anywhere on the desk top, pick make shortcut use browse to find explorer.exe in the windows folder. Click OK etc. and then rename the file just Explorer (don't need the exe on the end).
