Q: just bought a brinks indoor motion sensor switch and having problems installing. the regular light switch has 2 black wires that was connected to one end and a red to the other. the white wires in the wall are already together. the motion sensor switch has black, blue, red wires and its ground wire. the instructions says not to use the red wire for single switch so confused on how to wire them.: The red wire is if you are using it for a 3 way application. Sounds like you are not.

Q: Ok, i want to make a flash gun. I made one before with my cousin, but it broke. I remember what i used to make it, and how to make it, i just need the names of the wires and parts i need. The parts are the battery, some regular wire, a push-button switch, and the nichrome wire. Connect one end of the short piece of nechrome wire to one end of a wire. Connect that end to one of the battery terminals. Connect a second piece of wire between the other battery terminal and one side of the switch. Connect a third piece of wire from the switch to the other end of the nechrome wire. When the button is pushed, the wire should heat up.

Q: The power supply is at the fixture in this case. I have 2 black wires (1 is the hot, I connected the hot to the other black to continue to the switch. The other wires are 2 white wires, 1 red wire and 2 grounds. At the switch there are multiple wires, including 3 black wires, 1 red, 3 white and 3 ground. One of the black wires I know goes on to other fixtures in another room. My issue now is I cannot get my main fixture I was trying to change the switch on to work and don't know which wire to connect to the switch. Right now I have removed the switch completely so the other rooms lights will work. Here is how I have it set up now. At the fixture black to black, white to white, red capped 2 grounds capped together. At the switch area: Black (hot from the fixture) to 2 blacks, all 3 whites connected, red is capped, and grounds are together. HELP!: If you are having trouble wiring a light switch you shouldn't be doing it get an electrician otherwise you could cause a fire.

Q: 1. what is drive-by-wire?2. what is drive-by-brake?: HI Drive by wire In a drive by wire set up there no solid connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels. the steering is all done be electronics. on a regular car there is a shaft that goes from the steering wheel to the steering gear box, then tho the steering arms to the wheels. ON by wire the steering wheel moves switches and valves the turn the wheel by a pre set amount. Drive by brake this is done by using two brake pedals one for the left side and one for the right side.. when you step on the left brake it slows or stops the left side so the car well turn in that direction. that's how airplanes steer when on the ground they have a left and right brake hope this helps Tim

You tie each end to the light fixture and to the box where the power wires are connected. This is so that you don't use the power wires as a physical support (hanger) to hold the light in place. Think of a swag lamp from years ago. The lamp hung from a chain connected between the lamp and the ceiling. The power cord never supported the weight of the lamp fixture. The black fiber in the gray wire is a strong cord.

Q: I have a 1983glastron cvx-16 and need to wire the lights, tach horn fuel guage there are 2 wires coming off the fuel guage one pink from the center and the other looks to be comming off of a bracket not conacted to the tanks fuel guage: Wiring your gauges is pretty easy to do as there are only 3 wires per gauge.You have a positive,negative and sender wire.Your positive wire goes to the I which is the ignition terminal,the negative goes to the negative terminal and the sender wire to the S terminal.That's it,done.To make it a little easier I'll give you the usual colour's of the sender wires. OIL pressure = light blue Fuel =pink or yellow usually pink Tach=gray Temp=light brown or brown Trim sender=brown with a white stripe. Light wire for gauges=blue Your positive wire for your gauges is purple and this wire starts from your key switch,from the I terminal.I hope this helps.

Q: The coiled wire is for making bucktails and i would like to buy it in bulk.: I am not sure what bucktails are, but a good place to buy coils of wire is a hardware store or farm store. You should be able to get aluminum wire, galvanized wire, or mechanics wire (black/brown)
