Q:I attempted to change a bathroom fan to a new one with the help of a friend. He disconnected all the wiring without paying attention to what he was doing and what was wired where. We have a set of wires coming from somewhere (I presume the fuse box) to the fan that is hot regardless of the switch being on or off. That has a black, white and naked wire in it. Then we have another wire that comes from the switch that has black, white and naked as well. The fan has black, white and green. Can someone please tell me how to connect these as we have tried everything and the only thing that works is wired to the constant hot which of course won't allow us to turn the fan off with the switch...: Follow Eaglewatcher's instructions and not only will it work, but you will be in compliance with the National Electric Code. When ever a switch is fed with a black and white cable the white Must Be used as the Hot. And it Must Be Permanently Identified as such. Most of us use a sharpie or black tape to do this. NEC Article 200.7(C)(2) Good luck.

Q:where does the thin blue wire from the amp go, i know it goes to the stereo but i dont know to what wire: Its probably a power relay wire used to switch the amp on when the radio is turned on. The radio will have either an orange or yellow wire that is used to trigger a retractable antenna. If this is the case, connect your blue wire to this orange wire on the radio. Then when you power the radio the relay switch will activate the amp. If you do not have this option on your radio, you will have to manually wire a switch that is connected to your fuse box so that you can send 12 volts to that blue wire to activate the amp.

Q:Its a 3 wire chandelier, 2 are attached like a regular electric cord and the third is separate. all are the same color. the ceiling has 2 wires. one tan/white and the other is red. I am comfortable with doing the connections but unsure what wires to connect: One of the chandelier wires will go to the red and the other to the white wire--it does not matter which one goes to which. The third wire is likely bare (or green) and is a ground wire. Connect this wire to the ceiling box and to the third wire in the ceiling if there is one.

The parts are the battery, some regular wire, a push-button switch, and the nichrome wire. Connect one end of the short piece of nechrome wire to one end of a wire. Connect that end to one of the battery terminals. Connect a second piece of wire between the other battery terminal and one side of the switch. Connect a third piece of wire from the switch to the other end of the nechrome wire. When the button is pushed, the wire should heat up.
