Q: A wire is 1.5 m ong and has a diameter of 1.5 mm. The stretch modulus of the wire is 6.2 x 10^10 n/m^2. If a force of 400 N is applied to end of the wire, then the increase in length of wire is??please help, thanks
The stretching of wire by longitudinal force: If F force applied across the crosectional area A of wire of radius r and lenght L then the wire elaogates in the dirextion of force Stress P = F / A A = pi* r^2 = (1.5/2)*10^-3 = 7.5 *10^-4 m^2 strain produced = dL / L = increase in length / original L Young's modulus or elastic (stretch) modulus for the maretial, within elastic limits, Y = stress/strain strain = stress / Y dL = F * L / A * Y = F * L / pi (r^2) * Y dL = 400* 1.5 / 3.14 (7.5 *10^-4)^2 * 6.2*10^10) meter dL = 0.005479 * meter dL = 5.479 millimeters increase in length
Q: Theirs a green ground wire, a white neutral wire and for some reason 3 black wires.
it could be for the lights if its an option otherwise connect all the black together to the hot wire. What does the instructions say? worst it can do is trip the breaker.
Q: I have a 1990 chevy c1500 2wheel drive. I bought it not running. I have found the problem and it the tbi injectors are not hooked up. The 4 wires on the 2 injectors are red and the 4 wires going to the tbi are red, blue, green, white. what wires go were? Thanx for all your help.
The red and white wires are the power to each injector and are actually hooked to each other in the harness. These 2 wires should be hot when you turn the key on. The green and blue wires are the grounds that lead back to the ecm. The red and blue wires go to the passenger side injector (red is far left as you face the vehicle). The white and green go to drivers side (white on left as you face it)
Q: I recently purchased a used car already wired for an amplifier, however, when I looked at the wiring i found that the installer ran 8 gauge wire and then crimped it to a 12 gauge wire (with fuse) that connected to the battery is this bad? should i change it to 8 gauge? Or does it not matter?
you okorder /... you can pull 20 amps 6.6 feet but you can not pull 25 amps any distance so if your amplifier has two 15 amp fuses in it, you will need to swap out the 12ga section for 8ga.
Q: how do i wire a dual 2 ohm sub to an amp at 2 ohm
You can't. Dual 2 ohm subs can only be wired at 1 ohm or 4 ohm. To run an amp at a 2 ohm load you need a dual 4 ohm sub. You can get a second dual 2 ohm sub to match and then they can be wired together at a 2 ohm load.
Q: Help me, please! I have an old air conditioning system...made in 1985, and the condenser fan went out. Long story short, I bought a new fan and I don't know how to hook it up. The old fan had 4 wires coming out of it: purple, black, green, and brown. The green is the ground and the brown and the purple went to the capacitor, black to power. Then there were two smaller black wires attached to the capacitor and they lead out to other components. My new fan has a green wire, a white wire, a black wire, a brown wire and a brown and white striped wire. My problem is this: I don't know where to attach the white wire or what to do with the two smaller black wires that were attached to the old capacitor. I was told by the gentleman who sold me the fan that I splice the white wire to purple wire - then do I hook that to the capacitor? What do I do with the two smaller black wires that lead out to other components??? (Cap them off???) I am confused and need some advice!
You need to check the wiring diagram that came with the motor. It will show you what wires to hook where. The capacitor is supposed to be hooked into the starting windings of the fan to kick start it initally, then it drops out of the circuit, and the run windings take over. They probably cross-matched a motor, so the same hookups aren't an option, so you will have to go back to the place, take a drawing of what the wires coming out to the old motor are, and what the new wires to your motor are, and have them connect the dots so to speak to give you a new wiring diagram.
Q: I have two white wires left...one is a speaker wire and the other is the constant 12v wire and I don't know which is which. They are the same thickness so unless one of you guys know I'm pretty much screwed here. Also, I have a black ground wire sticking out of the wiring harness and the ground wire from my stereo harness doesn't look like they should attach to each other. This is my first install and I've got everything else hooked up. Just need some pointers.

Q: The light fitting I bought has 1x Red Wire (A) 1x Green Wire (E) and 1x Blue Wire (N)...
The green wire is just a ground wire, black is usually the hot wire, that would leave the blue wire as the neutral wire. The white wire in house wiring is the neutral. The two red and one black from your wall is not standard in the USA, but it may be 220 volts. What kind of light fixture are you replacing, is it on a ceiling fan?
Q: I have a 1983glastron cvx-16 and need to wire the lights, tach horn fuel guage there are 2 wires coming off the fuel guage one pink from the center and the other looks to be comming off of a bracket not conacted to the tanks fuel guage
1989 Johnson J70TLCEM with controls in 1984 18' blue fin. Need to wire the gauges, found a new harness(NLA original) but has correct plug. Purple,Black,Gray. which one goes to which gauge? I suspect Tach,Volts,Trim but not sure. Harness was made by Medallion but their web sight dosen't seem to want to give up any info
Q: I know the ground wire takes unused electricity to the ground but what is the purpose of the neutral wire?
The neutral returns unused electricity back to the source where as the ground provides a pathway for an electrical short to return back to the panel and then to an earth ground.
