Q:i am re-wiring light switches in my home. Pulled off the old switches and there are four wires. 1 red, 1 black, 1 white and 1 bare. My light switch has three spots, 2 brass screw plates and a ground screw, what of the 4th wire?: The bare wire is always the ground, for the rest: Not enough info. Look at the old switch. Is it the same as the new? You describe a single pole switch, and the wiring you describe might be for a 3 way switch. (If those 4 wires come into the box in one cable, it's almost a certainty.) Are there two switches controling the lighting in that area? Good rule: If you re-wire anything, always make a note of how things were connected before you remove anything. You've got yourself a puzzle now, that you'll need to solve by elimination with meter or test lamp.. EMail details and i'll try to help.

Q:Car audio wiring diagram: If you cannot get a wiring diagram for your stereo or car. It's still pretty simple to install a stereo. You basically just gotta color code all the wires. Red sometimes orange is power wire, black is ground, blue is remote the rest are speaker wires. Look for wires that are identical such as light blue light blue with a white stripe, gray dark gray with a white stripe etc.....

Q:I have a 2 wire system in my garage and need to update to a 3 wire grounded plug. Can I leave my existed 2 conductor and just run a single 12 gauge insulated ground in the same conduit back to the panel/grounding rod. Or do I need to pull out the 2 wore replace with 3 wire ?: It will could be tough to pull if there are existing wires in there. You may need to tie a line to what you remove, then lube a new set of wires, and pull the new line and wire back through.

The magnetic force is present only when current flows through both wires. If it flows in the same direction then they attract. So if the lower wire is fixed and you wish to suspend the above it must repel it to overcome the gravitational force due to earth acting on it. Hence the wires must carry currents in opposite direction.
