Q: can it be done? id probably just staple it down over the wooden floor. not to familiar with flooring so thats why im askin. thank you: Depends on the exact backing on the rug you want to put down. A lot of backings can ruin wood floors.. Some will scratch them up, some will permanently discolor the wood.. If your using it just as a area rub, there are special thin mats that you place under the rug and they stay in place without having to staple them down, If your going wall to wall then I d suggest a padding to help stop this.. Q: I'd like to know how REAL fur coats, bear skin rugs, etc. are made (by hand not industrial process) as I don't believe its tanning like in leather as it requires the fur to be stripped.
