Q: Me and my husband have been searching apartments for rent and 90% come with carpets. Being both from Europe, we are not used to the smell of carpet. We just wondered what happened in this country that so many people use carpets.: Hardwood floors are more common in houses and building built I'd say around 50 years ago. A lot of the housing and apartments are fairly newer so they just put down carpet. My guess is because when they build an apartment complex it's much cheaper. The smell that you're not used to may be the shampoo or cleaner they used to clean the carpet. I'd think the smell will go away after a while.

After this, make sure you scrub really really hard and make certain that the carpet is completely dry, use a hair drier if you have to, because you don't want mold under the carpet. Q: I have a thin, lightweight, 3x5 rug in my room. The floor is hardwood floor (but unwaxed). Do they sell anything for things like this?Thank you!: you can find rolls of non slip rubber stuff at places like wal-mart or target. its usually in the kitchen section. it should help. its cheap, and it wont ruin your floor. you can also get double sided tape, that works good too, but might leave sticky residue on your floor

Q: I am planning on getting a Carpet Python in a couple of months and wanted to know a few things about them as I am still learning about them and I like to really know about a snake before purchasing.1. Do Carpets like climbing when adults?2. Do carpets like to be held after their nippy stage?(After Maturing a bit)3. If I started him off in a big tank would it be ok? or would i have to use a smaller tank then progress?Any other cool things you guys know about Carpets I would love to hear about also!Thanks in advance! :): Carpet Pythons are semi arboreal, so they will appreciate some things to climb on when they are young and old. But as they get older they will need some pretty sturdy branches. Depending on what locality you get, it may get anywhere from 6'-12'. Carpet Pythons actually mellow out a lot when they mature a bit. They are fine with being handled, and it'll make it easier on you. You could start off in a big tank, but you have to make sure that the snake feels secure. Lots of hides, branches, etc. Plus you need to make sure there's enough heat for the whole cage. I would start off in a smaller tank if you can, but you don't have to. And one other tip about Carpet Pythons, unlike most snakes, which are usually fed prey the size of the fattest part of the snakes body, they actually can eat prey that are bigger than that, and prefer it.

Q: Say my carpet is white and I would like to make it.... red. Can it be done? Does anyone know where I can find such a product.I called the Home Depot and some rude black chick said I should clean it. After I told her the carpet is not in need of cleaning, but maybe a change in color, I reminded her that we put someone on the moon, and built a bunch of pyramids, she still had nothing for me.If not products, ideas? Home remedies?I would appreciate it.: Don't bleach it. I tried that on a very light carpet once and it did not even come close to matching the rest of the carpet. Q: I have talked to 4 companies about re-carpeting our home and all they can do is dog on other companies and say how they are the best. They all give contradicting advice. One guy said, quot;Stainmaster is just branding, use our r2x, it's better and cheaper.quot; One guy said quot;R2x, stain master... all a scam. All carpet is stain resistant these days.quot; And another guy said, quot;Stainmaster is the best!quot; We want a plush carpet that is stain resistant (we have a small dog). I don't care about having the best as I am carpeting my first home and won't be here forever. I also cannot find objective reviews on carpet brands. Why is this? I am starting to realize that the carpet industry is a very competitive business and how do I know that I am getting a quality product.: Stain Master is just a name. You pay a bit more for Stain Master because they advertise on T V .Almost all stain blockers are the same.They cover the same types of stains and you treat them the same. Like any product ,carpet is a competitive market so you will get competition. What you have to do is compare carpets from one place to another. Compare warranties,the weight of the carpet and the wear warranties. Once you compare apples to apples only you can get a fair judgment. Compare installation costs, is furniture moving and rip out of the old included? See in the installers are certified. This may cost a bit more but worth it. Non certified installers can some times void warranties. Not all carpets have stain blockers , most do but not all. Take all warranties with a grain of salt. Q: I have a massive rug on my floor carpet. We have it because our carpet is maroon and carpet is brighter so during the day and night, the room doesn't look that dark. The problem i am facing is that my rug is sliding/moving (slowly) towards the way we walk. I have tried the Rug Tape that we stick under the rug to give it grip, that did not work.I am wondering what other solutions maybe. I will only Screw my rug to the carpet/floor if that is my only option. Every week, we have to move the swing (indoor), the heavy sofa, bird cage (we have pets) and other furniture to actually fix it and it takes a lot of time. I need multiple options if possible, but hopefully some of you may have had this and found a great solution for it. I am willing to spend money to get this problem Fixed. My option does not include getting rid of the rug.Thank you for helping.: There are very thin mats especialy made to stop rugs from running like yours is doing. Sold where ever flooring is sold. They feel tacky but will leave no residue . Placed under the rug they stop the rug from scooting or moving when walked on. Get the type mage for rugs over carpet because some are for rugs over hardwood and rugs over a solid surface. Know your rug size since they come in many sizes and can be cut to fit using scissors.
