Q: Just bought an area rug, and I can't decide if it looks good. The area is small - and I get the feeling that it closes it in even more. But it also looks bare if there isn't something there...what do you think?Any advice would be wonderful! (Also, your take on the coffee table? Should it be gone or a different one or is that one ok?)
It looks somewhat better with the rug but it would be better with a plusher and more colorful rug. That one is kind of dull and looks like it belongs on a porch rather than in a living room. The room is too monochromatic and does not look welcoming. It needs more color.
Q: I am looking for a jumbo disney princess area rug and I can't seam to find one if you know a store or a ligetiment website that sells them that would be great thanks p.s. any princess would do except for princess tiana my daughter is afraid of that cartoon because of the witch craft and the rug I want it really big like at least 4ft tall but I would really love a 5 ft tall rug thanks and please don't tell me they don't exisist because I know for a fact they do my friend has a little mermaid one she bought it at costco and I already checked there and online I can't find it please help
What okorder / Google it and there should be quite a few results.
Q: hello, im getting a horse soonshe is a 15.3hh 5year old mare irish type sorti live in eastern england so the weather is pretty changeable :/i was looking at some horse rugs and i found some i like i thought that i would get 6 (3 stable 3 turnouts)i was going to get a :12oz/340g filled turnout9oz/250g filled turnoutand a no fill turnout sheet.14oz/400g filled stable8oz/220g filled stableand a waffle/fleece stable do u think that would be ok? first time horse owner you see want to get it right :) do i need more or more heavy filled rugs??thanks xXp.s the horse will be out in the summer months and in at night out during the day in winter
Sounds ideal :) I'd also get two cotton summer sheets - these are relatively cheap and they'll help keep your winter rugs clean. Put one under her turnouts and one under her stable rugs - wash them weekly and it will keep the lining of your heavy rugs clean, and also it will keep her coat in better condition. Summer sheets can be put in your washing machine (if your mum/dad/partner don't mind lol) and tried on the line or in the tumbler. Email me if you want any more help :)
Q: Ok ... So I have two messy boys at home, a 2 year old and a 23 year old. They are, like I said, messy. There's nothing I can do to make them cleaner, so I was thinking about gettinga long rug to go in front of our couch. The couch is a dark green, our carpet is a light beige. Would that look retarded, or like a blatant cover up? And if I get one, what color should it be? Our walls are a light off white.
Nothing wrong with that. I have a large area rug over my carpet. I do roll it up every once in awhile to vacuum under it. Find a pattern rug which won't show stains. Use the colors in the sofa, carpet, and accent color. That'll be a safe bet. If you have a coffee table in front of the sofa the area rug won't show all that much. And if you didn't like it, roll it up before company arrives. At least the carpet will be clean. When my kids were small, I told them I was going to pull up the carpet and live with concrete floors. Just hose the floor when needed. Of course, they didn't care.
Q: I purchase a carpet recently near about 3 month form someday ..
Vacuuming is the preferred method of cleaning carpets. From TLC, carpet cleaning tips ?Carpets need to be vacuumed once a week and more often in areas of heavy traffic. Frequent vacuuming prolongs the life of your carpet by preventing a buildup of gritty particles that can cut carpet fibers. Every few weeks, take a little extra time and use your crevice tool for cleaning around baseboards and radiators and in other hard-to-reach places. ?To vacuum wall-to-wall carpeting, divide the floor into quadrants and vacuum an entire quadrant before moving on to the next. ?Take your time when you vacuum a carpet, especially a plush carpet in which dirt is sure to be deeply embedded. One pass with a high-powered upright is not enough. Go over each section of carpeting several times, and work slowly to allow the suction to remove all the ground-in dust and dirt. ?Pay special attention to the areas where people sit and move their feet. Vacuum these areas of heavy traffic with a crisscross pattern of overlapping strokes. ?Soil retardants can be applied to new carpets or to newly cleaned carpets. Follow manufacturers' advice. Apply soil retardants only with professional equipment using the recommended application techniques. ?Add baking soda to the bag in your vacuum to fight odors.
Q: I have recently noticed that my cob's rug is rubbing slightly so I am going to buy her a Rug Bib to prevent this. She wears a 6'9 rug so what size would u recommend?
i would go for the large my friends horse wears xtra large and is an 16.2 irish draught so large will be fine
Q: Wet Basement Rug Mystery
Moisture is passing though your basement floor. This is relatively common. The reason the rug gets wet is that it collects the water vapor and causes it to condense and the areas where there is no rug the vapor goes into the air. I suspect the rug in question has has some kind of plastic component to it If you place another piece of plastic the same size as the rug any where on the floor and it will do the same thing.
Q: My cat scratches the rugs in my house to the extent that rug nap is scattered all over every morning. We have both vertical and horizontal scratching posts in which he displays no interest. I tried a product called quot;No Scratchquot; which doesn't work either. What else can I do?
I understand completely! My cat seems to hate using scratching posts and much prefers to scratch the carpets. Although telling your cat off may help gradually. They do not learn like dogs and wont understand as well. I would recommend using a water spray or a citrus smelling product! As you probably know cats HATE being sprayed or splashed with water. So if you see your cat scratching the rug, just gently spray him. Keep the water nearby and after a few times he will learn!! Scratching=water! Or you could use a citrus (orange or lemon) smelling product. Citrus is very strong for cats and might not be obvious to humans so you wouldn't need to worry any smell. Try rubbing an orange flavored car freshener over the rug and that will prevent him scratching the rug, again they hate orange scented things. I hope these help and your cat stops scratching the rugs! :)
Q: Right i have just got my own house and my partner is thinking of fitting the carpet himself as we are running low on funds and the carpet place we brought it from are wanting ?45 a room which we honestly cannont afford! We have the knee banging gripper thing but i was woundering if there anything else in tool wise im going to need or maybe someone out there know some cheap carpet fitters in wolverhampton? Thanks in advance
is it a puppy from a litter of your dogs? or have you just bought a 5 week old puppy? if its the latter then you need to take it to the vet asap as a puppy this young will die without the right care/food. report the breeder to the RSPCA (UK) or other organisation if ur in the US. puppies minimum age for leaving dam/litter mates is 8weeks for a good reason, before this age you are only taking on a potentially BIG problem and expensive vet bill.
Q: So my bedroom is carpeted and there's some stains (dirt and pop mostly) but im trying to clean my room up a bit and id like to get the stands out any ideas?
carpet cleaner and a scrubber. it'll be clean and spotless. ( prefer the foam carpet cleaner)
