- Q: I redid my floor in november using the sticky tiles I purchased from Family Dollar. I wanted to take the tiles off. Is there a easy way to do this without spending lots of money?
- Heating the tiles up will make for easy removal.But you cant just use a standard hair dryer. Rent a commercial heat gun. It ll heat the tile up for easy removal. Most people think a regular dryer will work, it wont. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
- Q: My new home has a kitchen with glazed ceramic tiles covering most of the walls.The colour is basically honey brown, but there‘s a hideous purple border (in the same tile size shape) running horizontally vertically all over the place - I‘d say that 20% of the tiles are this colour.I want to reduce all the tiles to one (new) colour.Two guys (both pros) have this to say:GUY 1: Cheapest solution (and least noisy/disruptive) is to use a ‘glass enamel paint‘ over the tiles. I went online and found several manufacturers of this stuff.GUY 2: Scoffed at this and said there was no other way than retiling the whole kitchen.Guy 1 is adamant that it can be done, and the job will last if enough care is taken in preparing the surface.Is he right?Has anyone tried this ‘re-enamelling‘ technique, and were the results OK?Thanks!
- Ok yes you can paint them, and yes it will hold up, and yes i do paint and also install ceramic so i do know what im talking about.You need to clean them very good with TSP. Buy a good primer such as kilz but i think home depot has an even better one so check that out. After you prime it put oon a good interior enamal like Behr . Probable 2 coats for best results. A spong roller is best but if you can rent or borrowe a sprayer and get the best results. there about 40 dollars for the day to rent. easy to use. Just tape everything off and use alot of drop cloths.
- Q: How to do the wall tiles off
- 6, with the mud shovel on the wall fell on the tile area around the shovel clean, the dust blowing clean, sprinkle a little water; 7, the brick out from the basin, slightly cool water, with a large mud shovel and good cement slurry shovel to the back of the tile, spread out, the thickness of the same, with the mud shovel around the brick mud slightly into the film; 8, will be wiped the back of the cement tiles close to the tile in the area, with a mud shovel handle gently tap the tiles, from the middle to the surrounding knock until the new brick and the original brick in the same plane;
- Q: it is literally burning hot have no idaea wat the problem is plzz help:). porcelain tile btw
- Well, I'm assuming it's the floor tiles, not the wall tiles. And that there's no radiant heating system under the floor. The first thing you should check is if you have a broken hot water pipe under the slab. To do this, shut off all the water in the house and check your meter. Some have a small triangle shaped dial that turns as you use water. If it's turning, you have a fairly major problem and should address it promptly. If you don't have such a dial on your meter, record the numbers on the meter before you go to bed at night after using all the water for the day. Then in the morning, BEFORE using any water, record the numbers again. They should match exactly. If not, you have a leak and chances are, it's from the hot water line running under the slab in the bathroom. You can shut the hot water valve by the heater for a few hours and check if the warmth has cooled down. This will assure you that that is what the problem is.
- Q: To any DIY‘ers out there!My kitchen has a white tile backsplash and these decorative fruit motifs here and there. (you remember that trend?)There are only eight of them strategically placed, but I‘d really prefer that there were none, and just the plain white like the rest of the tiles. I can‘t really aford to retile the whole backsplash right now, so my question is .. Is there an effective way to cover them or paint them?
- Yes....there is a way to pain over them... I was watching HGTV last night..an episode of Design on a Dime..and they painted over tile in a guest house..in the small foyer area and around a fireplace. They used, I believe a new paint that was an epoxy-type paint...go to HGTV's website and look at Design on a Dime ...painting over tile...there should be great resources there for you..(and how-to's)....
- Q: tiles on back splash, work done in south florida, 4x4 inch tiles
- The price of tiling depends mostly on who's installing the tile and things like. extra for a diagonal, a basic install price starts at around $5-$10 sq ft and have heard of up to $25 sq ft depending on the complexity of the pattern.
- Q: When the stick on tiles have come loose you get ready to re-glue them. What exactly do you clean the cement under neath them or do you just scrape it clean?
- If i've got been you,i could positioned funds into ceramic tile.that's been my adventure that peel-and stick Vinyl tiles do no longer consistently stay positioned.For a sprint greater in funds you should apply ceramic tile and function a greater advantageous looking bathing room and longer lasting one too. i understand this with the aid of fact i lay tile as my profession,yet once you should use peel-and-stick Vinyl tile i could advise using greater adhesive.
- Q: I‘m thinking about most economical way to up grade my living and master bedroom flooring.both had laminate and had flood slab leak due to underground water pipe damage. now the pluming has fixed and everything has been taken care of. the rest of the house already got white tiles throughout. I can go laminate in the living room and tile in the bedroom. both rooms are about 280 sq.ft. or I can do the need room laminate again. I don‘t know how to put the flooring, so I would Gabe to hire someone to do it. we have a Lowes home center where their contractor can come out and to the installation. they want $35 for an estimate. we also have a floor center just down the street from us. their material was little more expensive than the Lowes price but perhaps the installation may be cheaper... I‘m not sure. would tile thought the house including the bedroom better, cheaper than laminate in the bedroom? I know I would want laminate in the living room hopefully nothing gets wet.
- Laminate is much cheaper and easier to apply than tile flooring. Tile is a better quality and will last longer than laminate. You simply need to pick which option fits your needs and budget.
- Q: I want to buy six glass tiles for my science project but i don‘t know where to buy them. There are windows for sale but I don‘t want to use hundreds of dollars for a window.
- cheap okorder
