Q: Ok, the builder and an independent foundation company both say that no foundation damage happened, just some settlement. What should I do with these cracks on tiles and on walls. Would leaving them alone cause any problem? When and how should I fix those?
Cracked tiles, if there are no sharp edges won t cause a problem but should be fixed if you have spare tiles. Wall s you don t describe exactly what type of crack so no one can help there to much.. If its the wall board thats cracked that can be a big job. If its a corner crack there are a couple ways to do this. Tiles ( if you have or can get extra) can be pulled out, the area cleaned and tiles put back in. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL .
Q: What should you pay attention to when installing tiles?
Empty drums, shedding flatness after 3 days to see just finished shop looks like can not see

Q: The tiles are textured and it seems that the high spots are wearing and can not be cleaned. Is this caused by inexpensive tiles?Texturing? Will I have to replace the floor? What product should I use? Any information will be appreacated.
Sounds like whoever installed the tile did not use floor tile, they are the same color top to bottom, throughout. The tile you now have sounds like wall tile and only has the coloration on the top of the tile. You have two possible solutions to this problem. Replace the tile, or a cheaper fix that will not be permanent, is to finish the floor with semigloss polyurethane which will also wear out. High gloss will be very slick when wet, but depending on the sheen of the current tile you may decide to use that instead. The polyurethane will slightly change the color of your floor, and should be considered when you make your decision.
Q: i used the baskup board, the adhesive, then put the adhesive on each tile.
what type of tile good luck
Q: Why should the tiles be soaked before the tiles?
Tiles of water need to split the water absorption in terms of water absorption <0.5% in the paving when there is no need to soak, and kitchen and bathroom with glazed tiles and tiles, water absorption is generally greater than 10% It is necessary to carry out soaking (if the porcelain wall for the brick, water absorption of less than 0.5%, of course, no need to soak). As consumers asked in the morning, you can have the following answer: Eno polished brick water absorption rate of 0.5% or less, can be ignored for the non-absorbent, the bubble will be the surface of the anti-fouling wax washed, the construction of poor protection It will pollute or draw the brick.
Q: I am looking at purchasing a home but on the disclosure form from the seller, it shows that there is asbetos tiles on the basement floor.I know asbetos is a problem but in this case how much would it cost to remove it? should this be a deal breaker?
Carpet, Tiles and floating floors.
Q: i put up glass tile on my kitchen backsplash. i grouted today. i am unable to remove the grout haze this evening however. it is causing the tile to look terrible. any tips? i don‘t want to scratch it.
Re washing grout haze will only keep bringing it back. Try 1 st buffing with a clean , dry terri cloth towel .. If this doesn t do it,step 2 is to get a white nylon doodle bug pad. Buff these dry w/o water.. We also call then scratch pads ( they won t scratch tile).. Step 3 if this doesn t work is to get a grout haze and efforvesant remover. About $5 an 8 oz bottle, sold almost any place tile is sold. This you can do according to directions, that is mix w/ water this time..Don t use any lime away or any thing caustic...Any other questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there GL
Q: Well I grouted my glass tile backsplash today and let it dry, now it is ready to be cleaned off, but i am completely exhausted! can i clean it off tomorrow or will it be too late? grout container said to let it dry for 4 hrs before cleaning off with a dry cloth. yeah right, a dry cloth does not do the trick. only a damp linen cloth used to scrub each individual little tile gets the haze and bits of left over grout off and that is going to literally take me all night. so can i do that tomorrow or do i need to pull an all nighter???
no longer something is needed, in basic terms use a moist sponge and rinse frequently. once you have wiped each and all the surplus grout off the tiles, enable them to dry over night, then wipe down the tile with a delicate fabric (tub Towel) this would take off the haze on the tile. Then all this is left is to seal the grout.
Q: i want to use broken tiles for flooring in the balcony. what is the procedure?? and how do i start??please suggest.
I suggest that you first prep and fill your concrete and let dry. Next you should lay out some tile pieces on an area near your starting point fitting the pieces together like a jigsaw puzzle. Next spread some tile mastic over an area equal to the size of the area where you have laid out tile pieces that fit together. Next, quickly set the tiles in the mastic in the same pattern that you had them laid off to the side leaving at least about 1/8th gaps between the tile pieces. When you are finished, scrape off any mastic that does not have tile set in it. Repeat this process until you completely cover your floor. Allow to dry for a day and then fill the cracks with grout. Allow the grout to dry for a day and then do an acid wash to remove the grout residue.
