- Q: I want room color which color perfectly adjust with my granite green tile
- Hi Maruf, I would choose a Light Steel Grey color to compliment the Granite Green tile.Granite Green tile is beautiful, choosing a color that blends to much with the tile will not enhance the look of your tile. The Light grey color will pick up the green hues in your tile, yet allow your tile to have center stage of visual appeal ! If you are truly not interested in a Light grey then my second suggestion for you is Sage Green. Best of Luck!
- Q: for making cement decorative hand made cement tile there is device sometime call cookie cutter also to portrait some design is called divider
- The metal frame that divides the tile into different sections is made from strips of metal carefully bent and soldered into place. I have seen steel ones and also brass mold patterns. The key to it is to have the bottom of the strips perfectly flat and level so that when you pour in the liquid cement mix, each color stays in its own compartment. See the link below to see a mold pattern and also the finished tile from it. A lot of history and more photos are on the second link.
- Q: MyMy bathroom. which is about 75 square feet has a carpet and I want to change it to tile. The only utility is a toilet. How do I handle the toilet? If I use ceramic tile, does the toilet sit on the ceramic tile and does that cause a problem with breaking the tile? What do you recommend that is practical, easy to install, and still functional?
- Yes you ll have to pull the stool up and depending on what you sub flooring is now will depend how you treat the stool and wax ring and flange later. There isn t a stock answer with the info you gave. Some times the flange is raised enough to accommodate raising the floor with tile and a 1/2 cement board( if needed). If the flooring is on a slab them the tile will go right up to the flange and stool set atop with a normal or extra thick ring. In 20+ years I ve never had a tile crack under a stool. As long as there is the correct amount of thin set under the tile and any subflooring you add is properly put down,it ll be fine. Stools don t have to be tight tight bolted down just firmly snugged up . Almost ( almost ) any tile will work in a bathroom situation , but get a slip resistant type, one with at least a class III rating is my recommendation Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. - Q: I need two more floors tiles to match my kitchen floor. The floor was down before we moved in. how i can find out what type of tile it is?
- If the tiles are not recent or a popular style, you will have to do a lot of looking. Why not use black?
- Q: Looking for ceramic wall tile decorated in 24 karat gold designs
- Not everyone is in the market for tile designs in 24 kt. gold. I assume you've checked around in your area. If no one knew, how else would they give you an answer without doing a search? At least they would be taking the time and making an effort to help you find what you're looking for.
- Q: Dont want to lay down the rock. Want to attach strait to the plywood due to dish washer stove and cabinets. What is the best way for long lasting tile strait to plywood?
- The first thing is I need to know is this laminate glue or snap together (do you want to save this floor ?) if you donot care this is how to remove your laminate First off figure which way the laminate is started this will give you a good starting point. this should just fold up ward ____/ like that once you start you should be able to take up thold laminate in 1 hour. make sure to remove all your wall base first., that is what holds down the laminate. After that is up you will have to determine what type of underlayment is on the subfloor. The most common is durock if you are putting down ceramic . If it is vinyl tiles you then should use luan (1/4 thick use the same thickness for the durock). You have to measure you length and width of the floor striking chalk lines to determine where your starting point is ( you do this with either type of floor). If you need more instruction e mailme.
- Q: Can I install vinyl tiles in a bathroom. Will it shift over time and look bad. How does moisture affect vinyl tiles?
- It depends on the surface you put them on and the quality of the tiles. In most cases, with cheap peel and stick tiles that adhere to the surface below, they will tend to shrink, curl up at the endges and peel back after a while. It's not so much moisture as temperature changes and poor durability of the thin vinyl and poor adhesive. I'd recommend you use the Home Depot Allure line of peel and stick floating vinyl floor tile that is made by Trafficmaster. I just did a friend's bathroom with that product last weekend and was very impressed. The tiles stick to each other instead of the floor surface beneath so you can put them down over any solid surface and moisture will not effect them. They have a 25 year warranty also. At about $1.79 per square foot it is a pretty good deal and installation is a snap. We covered her entire 6' by 8' bathroom floor in less than 2 hours, including all the cuts around the toilet base and doorway. All you need to install it is a metal framing square or tee square, a sturdy pair of scissors, a measuring tape and a utility knife. Cool product. They make versions that look like tile and others that look and feel like real wood. We used the wood and it looks great. I've also used the Trafficmaster direct adhering commercial grade peel-and-stick tiles in areas that had moisture (an entryway and a powder room) with no problem but I made sure I had good birch plywood underlayment and I sealed it before laying the tile and also ran a bead of silicone caulk around the edges.
- Q: I have a small round accent table with formica top. I‘d like to try my hand at mosaic tiling on the top. Is it possible to do this over the formica, or do I have to remove it. If so, what do I use to prep the formica before tiling. p.s. I‘ve never tiled anything before. Using this as a learning project. Thanks for any suggestions, tips.
- technically, tile isn't made to stick directly over formica. a form of underlayment is required, especially if trying to tile over a formica countertop. since this is just a table, and you are using small mosaic type tiles, the best thing for you to do is sand the finish off of the formica. a belt sander would be the easiest and best way, but if you don't have one or are afraid of powertools, some heavy grit sandpaper would do the trick, and LOTS of elbow grease. you're looking to take the finish and top layer off. use a white thinset, preferably a multiflex (available at home depot or lowes), to set your tiles with, as it is a better product than mastic, and if any of your mosaic tiles are made of glass, mastic won't even stick to them. then, wait for it to dry (24 hours) and grout with the color of your choice. good luck!
- Q: Flatness of the thickness of the wall and how the number of pounds
- 7 test slip resistance This may be most of the staff of the tile shop will show you, so you directly on the tiles surface trample, feel slippery slip, but we think about what circumstances will be slipped on the floor tiles? Should be when there is water, some brick surface will be a very slippery water, will fall, so the test should be in the tiles surface sprinkle some water to simulate the real situation, and must personally step on the brick test , Some brick water will be more slippery, and some tiles will be more waterproof after the water, recommend this type. 8 other details In the process of selecting the tiles I suggest that we must go to the store to see, color and quality is difficult to see from the Internet, you can go to the store selected models, and then to the Internet to buy. No matter from which channel to buy, and businesses must be sure who is good delivery, is sent to the downstairs or sent to the home, is not free replenishment replacement. Because tiles such building materials is really very heavy, with their own simply can not move home. But also in the handling process is very likely to cause damage to the tiles, it is best to let the business to your handling, so that a problem can find him, if you find the construction team workers to move you, that tiles in the handling process is damaged, the basic It is your own money to replenish the goods.
- Q: are linulium tiles long lasting? how can I replace.
- OMFG. Why don't you asking an intersting question.
