Q: In my bathroom, I have a ball-joint sink valve. Which means its a single rotating handle. Pushing it up turns it on. To the left, hot water. To the right, cold water. My dilemma is, if I push it all the way to the left, no water comes out. If I rest it in a certain position to the left, it sputters, and eventually cuts off altogether. In other words, its a pain in the butt to get hot water out. Im assuming it needs to be repaired, but could it also be that it is an energy saving faucet? As Im not sure.Anyways, if you are knowledgeable in the area of plumbing, I would greatly appreciate your diagnostic if you have one. Even if it isnt right at all, Id still be grateful for input.
This problem may be caused by low water pressure. Have you checked that your 'pressure adjusting valve' is set correctly? You'll want to locate your pressure adjusting valve that's connected to your water supply line. It can be in your basement, crawlspace or water meter box. With a wrench or pliers, you'll want to loosen its lock nut. Then with a screwdriver, turn the screw clockwise slightly. Now you're ready to test your bathroom faucet. Turn on your faucet..if you see a slight improvement, but want more pressure, then turn the screw a little bit clockwise. To reduce, turn counter clockwise. When you find the right amount of pressure, tighten the lock nut. If the problem is not low water pressure, then it may be something with your water lines. You'll want to double check all faucet lines have no bends in them and secured tightly. You'll also want to closely examine the faucet itself and make sure nothing is clogging the aerator, and its valve cartridge is not damaged. Sputtering water from a faucet can be caused by debris particles in the aerator. If there are no problems with either your water pressure, water lines, or faucet itself, you'll need to take a look at your water heater.
Q: Very weird question here. I am petsitting for a family with several cats and dogs. The youngest kitten is living in a bathroom, currently (it is the only small, enclosed, safe place for him to stay until the family returns). Unfortunately, despite his having a clean litterbox, he is constantly pooping in the sink, which is unpleasant for me to deal with--obviously! How can I discourage him from doing this without really disciplining or hurting him in any way? I can't easily put something over the sink that he couldn't pull down and hurt himself with.
first of all you will desire to get the worms taken care of... from a vet 2nd his liter container may well be disgusting and it quite is his way of announcing sparkling it. 0.33: whilst cats have UTI or bladder an infection or worse because of the fact that he's a male he would desire to be clogged they attempt to flow and cant so they linked discomfort with the clutter container so they flow else the place/ If the undertaking remains occurring after u sparkling the container take him to the vet!
Q: my old sink had a over flow hole in it and the new sink does not.can i still use the same drain pipe or is there a different type that i need to get?
You're in good shape- the overflow was internal. The same drain is all you need.
Q: Can the living room wash basins?
If you are talking about a pure wash plastic bowl, then free
Q: My bathroom sink keeps leaking can someone telll me how to put a facet and plumbing in and what do i put where?
oh man....first of all, i don't know if you want to replace your sink or your fixtures or both? to remove the sink you will have to remove all the fixtures first. this can be simple to difficult depnding on tools you have, level of expertise, AND age and type of connections used. the sink itself is probably held in place by a series of small clamps connected to counter top and sink. as well as the drain pipes. unscrew clamps, disconnect drain, and it will pop right out. if you wanted to replace the old fixtures which is what i think you were saying, the best advice i can give you is to buy good grade new fixtures, then read and follow all directions. this would really be a wordy-confusing answer were i to try and describe what is actually a relatively easy fix. take your time, have patience, CUT THE WATER OFF, and you can do this thing. AND also while you are under there, go ahead and replace the old drain lines too; pee trap and all of that old plumbing. i would even put new shut offs in, but thats up to you. gl with it!
Q: My husband recently fixed a leak in the bathroom tub (sealed something) and obviously had to turn the water off while working on this. Since then the hot water in the bathroom sink does not work when we turn the faucet on (the cold water faucet does work and come out fine). Also not the kitchen sink has a delay when turning it off (water comes out about 5 seconds after turning off) Any ideas why this may be occurring?
Then it really is blocked by some ability except you attempt to run all rapidly. attempt turning on in effortless words the bathtub. If it doesnt run risk is you've an air lock. you are able to in certain circumstances liberate air locks making use of the mains stress. you want to run a hose from a mains tap to the bathtub tap and preserve both ends by some ability. i have finished or not it really is merely preserving it tightly against the tap by ability of hand. some water escapes inspite of the undeniable fact that it remains regularly adequate to blow air back up into the chilly tank. inspite of the undeniable fact that dont attempt this once you've a sealed kin water equipment.
Q: Basin basin drainage height is generally how much
The problem is not clear, refers to the water pipe out of the ground from the wash basin outlet height or refers to the water pipe into the wall on the wall out of the height of the wash basin outlet? The former, then the height should not be too high, with a hose to connect the wall can be connected down, so there can put some things, too high can not put things, inside the other pipeline is not easy to repair when the failure, if after Of course, naturally high is better, from the wash basin outlet 10 cm or so is not higher than the outlet just fine
Q: Just wanted an idea. We are looking to redo all of our bathroom countertops from tile to granite. I cant decide if I like the above the counter sinks or to place the sink below the countertop. Below is much more expensive. About $200 per cut. Anyway, any suggestions? Thank you.
My wife and I recently remodeled our bathroom with granite tile countertops. We went with square, top mounted sinks for more of an older look. Personally, I don't like the undermounts with granite or sold surface. It's just something about the way they treat the edges and rim that takes something away from the character of the sink and makes me think of a hotel bathroom. Also, the top mounts have a more detailed edge and rim so I just think it looks a little nicer. It's all just personal preference.
Q: In both bathrooms the drain ring has corroded and I'm afraid it will begin to leak. Is there a way to replace the rings without replacing the sinks? If so, what tools are needed and how long of a job is it? Or, do I have to call a plumber for this?

Q: I took off the cap that covers the whole in the sink because sometimes soap starts overflowing in the sink when i wash my hands. And since i took the cap off it doesnt happen anymore. But if i leave the top off can any bugs crawl through the pipe and into my bathroom?
Don't worry about bugs coming up through the drain. There is a pee trap under the sink that seals the drain by staying fiull of drain water to prevent sewer gas (and any bugs) from escaping.
