- Q: I have two DVC subs and I know how to wire them down to 1 ohm with the wires coming out of one outlet on the box but I don't know how to wire them down to 1 ohm with wires coming out of both sides of the box. Anyone have a wiring diagram for this?
- Well, okorder /...
- Q: Connecting a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD to a 2008 Kia Sorento. I have connected the wire harness to the back of the stereo by matching each color. My issue is I have 2 wires left on each side.I have a blue wire on the wire harness, and on the stereo side I have a blue/white wire that says system remote start. Do these 2 need to go together, even though they are different color scheme, yet both are blue?Same thing with the orange wire on the harness, and I have an orange/white on the stereo, do these two need to be connected? Thanks!
- The blue wire is a power antenna wire. If your car does not have a power antenna you do not need to connect this wire. If you do have one, the blue/ white wire from the stereo will work if it does not have a solid blue wire. The orange wires should be connected together. That wire dims the display on your stereo at night when you turn on the headlights.
- Q: How doI wire a ceiling chain light to wall switch? I want to stop using the chain to turn the light on and off. I hane already installed the wall switch and the wiring in the box but not sure how to connect the wiring in the box to the ceiling light wiring.
- I want to ask the same question as the person above.
- Q: Our house ground wire is very long but our live and natural wires are very short. Once there was a surge in our telephone line system and both my Belkin Surge Protectors seemed to have not stopped it. The surge was stopped at my last protector when its sensitive fuse blew (it was a 10 ohm resistor fuse). Is it possible that since the natural wire is shorter than the ground wire the surge wantted to go through my PC and into the natural wire? Or is it just because the 10 ohm resistor fuse was a bit too sensitive or something? (Well it didn't blow up when there was no lightning outside)I'm thinking of making my natural wire longer by extending it so a surge finds the ground wire more attractive, is this advice able?
- Check and make sure its grounded properly,if your in a high surge area look into a surge meter from your electricity company.Peace of mind,no need for buying surge protectors and wishing they work.Any lose will be insured by electric company.
- Q: subs - dvc 4ohm 2 of them 600wattrms on each wiring it to a 1200 watt amp same brand as sub amp is 1 ohm stable to i wire the subs together and then to the amp a 1ohm? that would give each sub 600 watts right?

- Q: okay my apt building was built in 1975 I am changing my light fixture new from home depot and the ground wire, the black and white wire are basic on the new fixture. I am looking in the case box in my ceiling all I see is a black wire attached to red, and a yellow wire attached to a white wire which then attaches to another two white wires (then gos go's up behind the casing) I am not sure which is the ground here. There is a copper looking wire that is thick, thick it just isnt as malleable as the new ground wire that is on my new light fixture. It seems very difficult to maneuver.. Could this be my ground from the ceiling. It was attached to the mount of the old fixture my a screw.
- All wiring is different but the basics remain the same. Before attempting anything please turn off the power. If I have the good picture in my head, there are extension wires added to the black and white this would be done if the wire run though the wall was too short and needed a little extra to get wired properly to a fixture. If I look at the bad picture in my head you have a jump cable attached which is running to a second outlet or light fixture. If the extra wires go back into the ceiling leading somewhere else then it is probably running to a different fixture and this isn't the best way to run electrical. It could potentially overload your circuit. If it has been working for 40 years without a problem you are probably ok, so long as the fixture you're adding is within the same category as the fixture you're removing. The thick copper wire will be your ground wire and should be attached to the box, and to the outlet itself with screws. Good luck with that fixture.
- Q: Well i bought new speakers for my 92 integra and when i installed them i also wanted to get new speaker wire.how would i go about installing all new wires?would you recommend have circuit city do it or is it not as hard as it looks?
- it breaks off because its very thin wire. You need to run new wire. The smallest I would use is 16 gauge wire....14 gauge for the best sound quality. All you need to do is run from your head unit or amp to each speaker. If you have 4 speakers then run 4 wires.EXAMPLE: FRONT CHANNEL LEFT (1) FRONT CHANNEL RIGHT(2) REAR CHANNEL LEFT (3) REAR CHANNEL RIGHT(4) Thats it....Just do your best to conceal the wire under carpet, or along wire mold which is under plasic foot/door strip, on the floor of the vehicle.
- Q: I connected my wires in the morning and something aint righti put two wires incorrect but i dont see it... can some oneput them together for me cuz i really cant see where i did wrongmaybe some one else will find it ...

- Q: electrical wire prices
- It's merely a coincidence.. The price of OIL and the price of COPPER have been in flux for years... Precisely why in america they want to get rid of the penny... it will soon cost more than a penny to make them. Just imagine if they were solid copper like the old wheat backs.
- Q: I recently instaled a Alpine in dash dvd player, the only wire i have left is the safety wire that needs to go to the parking brake wires. Where can the parking brake wires be found on a Ford Explorer and which 1 shound it go to ??? Thanks in advance!
