- Q: I've had my subs wired up for a while but want to see if there is a more efficient way to do it. Hardware: Sony Xplod 800w amp bridgeable amp - What's the best way to wire these up to get the most volume?
- wire the voice coils to series on each sub and then wire the subs in parallel to the amp and voila.
- Q: Someone Stole my stock radio out of my car (They cut it out) Now All i have in the is wires and I cannot afford to go get a new one installed. Here are the wires that are in my car
- what you need to do is buy the book for your car at autozone. and look at the radio wiring diagram. i had a similiar porblem but with the book it shall tell you were to hook the wires
- Q: The outlet box has 2 black wires capped together, 2 white wires capped together, 2 bare wires capped together, and a single red wire. The light fixture I want to install is a two bulb fixture that has 2 black wires, 2 white wires, and 1 bare wire.
- It is obvious from the question that you have zero knowledge of wiring. While this is an extremely basic thing to do, I think it is better to get a professional so you and your house will be safe. Electricity is too dangerous to do without even the most basic understanding of safe procedures and standards. You will get people telling you how easy this is, but I would rather have you safe than try this your self.
- Q: Hi,I have an issue with wiring in house. This is in Paris, France. I will share a foto so you can have a clearer picture what my question is.
- I'm not sure of your electrical system over there (except that it's 50HZ) The green/yellow wire is probably the ground (see which one is screwed into the frame of the oven to be sure) the other two shouldn't matter because it's probably a 240V unit, right?
- Q: why is neutral wire.explain plz
- The neutral is held at ground, to give a path for the current to return. The ground is for safety.
- Q: when wiring subs to different ohm levels, does is matter what kind of speaker wire you use to connect to the + and - terminals? i mean like gauge wise of the speaker wire and such.
- Too big of wire is just a waste of money. As Rick said, 12-16 is ideal for subs. 10 AWG would be the maximum size required.
- Q: four lead black wire coming from fan coil motor for a recessed wall unit; ribbed on one side, smooth on the other side, and two flat sided wires in between. Which wire would be common and which wire would be hi, med, and lo?
- Need more info. What voltage ? Different colors on wires? White usual indicates common or the neutral. Black is your hot for 120 usuAlly. Hi med And low Are power settings on the fan I don't believe ud have to wire them seperatly. Repost this with more specific info and I'll answer it. I'm an electrician And have a master electrician with me so if u give more info I can help.
- Q: Hello,I am trying to figure out what type of metal jewelry wire I need for a beading project. I found mostly copper wire at the craft store, as well as a smaller variety of aluminum and brass wire. Is this copper wire (came in many colors) a durable wire? It seemed very soft. Is there a stronger wire on the market? I am mostly looking for 22-28 gauge wire. Thanks!
- There okorder / and also look at the page on wire gauge chart. Hope this will help you to purchase the correct wire for your project.
- Q: I'm looking to install a ceiling fan in a fixture that recently had just a light (no idea if it ever had a fan). When I removed the old light, I found that there were three white wires from the ceiling twisted together and connected to the white wire on the light fixture, one black wire from the ceiling connected to the black wire on the fixture, and three black and one white ceiling wires just capped together, not connected to the light fixture.Any idea what the last 4 wires are? I would think that I just need to leave them alone, however, I have to replace the box in the ceiling with one that is rated for a fan, which means I need to (temporarily) disconnect them. I have the breaker turned off that turned the light off, but can I be 100% sure that power to those other 4 wires if also off?
- Cotton is right and even though you have low voltage I shut the main off to for sure when I am on a ladder because even the little shock might be enough to make you lose your balance and fall
- Q: I got a ventilation fan for the bathroom. The fan has 2 wires and there are 2 wires sticking out of the wall. How do I know which wire connects to which wire? What would happen if I connect the wrong wires?
- The fan will run no matter which way the wires are connected. The AC that is going to run the fan has no specific polarity like DC does. The only question would be safety. See if there's a green screw anywhere on a metal part of the fan. If there is, you should run a ground wire to it. There might not be, and in that case, because the fan only has 2 wires, it must be double insulated and will pose no shock hazard. You've probably seen electric drills with no ground wire. These are double insulated and are safe to use without a ground wire.
