- Q: i have a Logitech speakers for a long time and they have been working very well.now i have a problem.they are working, but very, very quiet, but noisy.they only work when they are turned up to max volume, but still super weakly !
- Are the speakers powered (i.e. need AC power)? If yes, the power adaptor may be spoilt. Connect a good pair of speaker to check whether it is the speaker or the PC that is faulty. Alternatively, connect an MP3 player to the speaker to check that speakers are working alright.
- Q: I tried to extend my hometheater speaker to fit my hall size, but after connecting (soldring) the extra wire the speaker volume has reduced. This is not the same for the speaker which is not extended.
- Longer speaker wire will increase resistance and that resistance can cause a slight change in speaker volume, but unless you added a hundred extra feet, I seriously doubt you would notice the change without testing equipment. I find it to be a safer bet that it's the added distance you put between the speakers and the listener that caused them to sound more quiet. While low frequencies can travel further without sound reduction, the volume of high frequencies will roll off much more quickly. Speakers are made to fit rooms of specific sizes. It could very well be that the speakers you have are designed to fit in a smaller room, or to at least be listen to at a closer range than where you have them now. Without taking away any speaker wire, try moving the speakers back to their original position and see if the volume returns. If it does, then you know it's not the added speaker wire causing the drop in volume.

- Q: I got a set of speakers that also work using batteries for my mp3 playeri can play music and adjust the volume using my mp3 but the speaker wont turn on so i cant use the controls on the speaker itself the red led on it wont turn on and the volume knob does nothing and neither do the bass and treble buttons yet if i connect my mp3 while the speakers are on dc 6v i can hear the music but i cant adjust it because the speaker wont turn onidk how old they are but i bought them second hand i opened it up and used compressed air and everything yet it wont worki haven't tried using batteries yet but i used a dc plug that fit and had adjustable voltage so i set it to 6 like it says on the speakerwhat could be wrong?
- The speaker is play music using the power output from your mp3 player, when external power is connected it is amplified at Least this is what I think, would help to know a bit more about the kind of speakers. So sounds to me that your external power isn't reaching the speakers, could be anything from faulty wiring to a crack in a circuit board. Sorry I couldn't be more help and hope you work it out

- different brand speakers have different size backs. you need to take the cover off your door. take out your current speaker and take it to a shop. if the new speaker is as thick as your current one , it will fit. if not, its going to collide with your window. as for screws not matching. a drill fixes it all , or washers :).

- Anything you add to the speaker cones will affect the sound quality. I don't know of any speaker paint, but if it's that much of an issue, you could get your speakers reconed or just have them replaced. Personally, if they sound alright, I couldn't care less. Another idea: put a cloth or wire mesh over the speaker enclosure. This should nullify the cosmetic state of the speakers while not appreciably messing with your sound.

- Rob - I don't know where you live but in the USA most stores that carry musical instruments and sound equipment will have professional speakers for DJ'ing.
