Q: I have two computers at the moment and I need to transfer a lot of data from one to the other, I'm wondering if I can connect the two together with an Ethernet cable and just work off a home network that way or must I connect them both to my modem and work through setting up a home network !?!?!
You could connect them together with a crossover ethernet cable to move your files.
Q: I already have the serial ATA (data) cable. What other cables would I need? Please help.

Q: If you buy a data cable for your cell phone to downloadd wallpaper and ring tones, do you have to get something else to download first before you can use it? I have been reading some sites and some say you have to have some other form of software before it will work? Also does it cost to download addtional things like wallpaper and ringtones using the data cable?
You have to have bluetooth.
Q: I use Comcast High Speed and the cable modem is hooked up to a Wireless B router. The typical Comcast download data rate is 3-5 Mbps (I think). The upload data rate is probably much lower. Let's say my cable modem operates at 3 Mbps all the time. And, my Wireless B router has the typical throughput of 4.5 Mbps (according to Wiki). Will the router be dragged down to the 3 Mbps level? With the Cable Modem as the bottleneck for transmissions, is an investment in Wireless G or N a waste of money?
Some of the new Wireless N router have a greater range than G. They are also faster for transferring files between computers on your home network. On the down side N routers are generally more expensive and you need a computer that has a compatible wireless card. Your internet connection speed is not effected by your router unless the router connection quality is so low that it drops below the speed of your internet connection, which is rare. Unless you need the range and transfer a lot of files stick with G. Also make sure you have wireless security enabled on your router so that nobody can steal your internet connection.
Q: I bought the data transfer cable to take my photos and phone book off of my cell phones and transfer them to my new one. One cell is active through verizon, the other is not active.I can't figure out for the life of me how to extract this data and put it in my computer. does anyone have any suggestions?
Did they come with any kind of software on CD or anything? The ones that I've seen did. You might try looking up the info on Motorola's website. Do a Yahoo or Google search.
Q: For moving stuff from your HDD
The best place to look would be OKorder.
Q: I have a very common LG CU400 cell and want to be able to pull some of the pictures that I have taken on the phone off into a printing kiosk, or onto a PC - I can't seem to find anything that fits this description. Does anybody out there know of such a cable? I have found LG Data USB Cables but am not sure if it will allow me to pull pictures onto my PC. Thanks!

Q: I m using SAMSUNG mobile cell .I want to connect my lapee to internet via Airtel Mobile Broadband .I dont have Bluetooth in my mobile .So how can i connect by Data Cable?
Hi there, OK first of all you see the port on the side of your phone, rub it gently and whisper in its ear Daddies here then do the same with your laptop. Rub the two units together and maybe get involved yourself just to ease them a little, once the heat is on leave them to it and slowly creep in with your modem wielded in your left hand. Ever so silently raise the modem above your head, go cross eyed then smash the modem on the floor screaming IS THIS WHAT YOU TWO WANTED?!! this should create a massive contrast in emotions between the two items and they will surely work together to get you on the internet. How could this not work? Thanks.
Q: I have one it is a Mybat USB data cable for MY cellphone type, but I can't figure out how to transfer files and stuff because it didn't come with any instructionsjust the cable and the software. And in the My Computer folder it takes up drives F,G,H, and I and it won't let me open any of the drives. It tells me to insert a disk into w/e drive I'm trying to get into. And I can't get into all of them at once either and I'm just so confused! I was so exited to get the cable and now it's not working. It's rather disappointing. I think I need some kind of other software to go along with it also and I don't know where to get that either or what kind to get. :( Help?!
First of all what brand of cell phone do u have? You can try installing the software before you even plug your data cable in then plug in cable after it's fully installed. You shouldnt need any other kind of software UNLESS your using a Mac. My suggetion would be to go to the manfacturer's website of the phone u have (Nokia, Motorola. ect) and look under help or support. :)
Q: If it cannot be done with a data cable, is there any other way to retrieve my deleted text messages? No matter how complicated the process might be.
Hiya ! Mobile phone text messages are NOT stored on the phone - they are held on the computer database belonging to the phone company - and transferred to your phone when you read them. Once deleted they cannot be recovered as they are deleted from the database. HOWEVER mobile companies DO make back-up copies so if you contact their customer services centre direct, they might be able to help you. Good luck anyways.
